  • A Lil 110 shock won't kill ya go for it...

  • First turn electricity off, only then remove the cover. Or check the voltage in hot gloves.

  • fuck that, turning off the circuit breaker is OVER RATED!!!! quit being a pussy!!!!

  • Ya know, I have watched a ton of these how-to "replace your light switch" videos and I have one thing to say. If your Electric panel is BADLY marked or not marked at all, then turn the MAIN breaker off. I mean, duh. If you cut the power to the whole house for a few minutes, no big deal. Better safe than sorry, eh!? I did this today and felt much better about messing around with those wires.

  • Helpful thanks. How did you turn the 'electric' off though?

  • Thank you for this. You saved my butt.

  • Definitely, the circuit breaker HAS TO BE TURNED OFF FIRST thing before you do ANYTHING else.

  • My friend insists that the circuit breaker has to be turned off first before I attempt touching let alone un- screwing any of the wires.

  • well your soposed to turn on the breaker withit out first so u know that nothing short out

  • It's not always quite so easy.

  • Does it matter which wire goes where aside from the ground wire?

  • Thank you :)

  • For "MarlonDC07" if you hear a buzz that's mean your dimmer switch is below the the max voltage. For example if you have 8 lights at 100 watt each that's 8x100=800 watt so in this case you have to install 800 watt dimmer switch or higher like 1000 watt dimmer switch. If it is less than the max recommendation then you are going to hear a buzz and that is not good sign !!

  • I installed it and it works great but the problem is that there is a low but faint buzz noise coming from the switch and can only be heard when i put my ear to it. What could this be? Oh and also i didn't cut the wires to 1.6cm in thickness before i connected them, could this be my problem?

  • sounds like a recipe for an electrical fire you fuckin idiot. hire a licensed electrician.

  • Thanks for making it easy!

  • Videos are much better than written instructions!

We have a set of 4 lights in the kitchen and during the evening, they are way too bright. This will be my first real home improvement!

Does it work the same way for a switch that controls 4 lights simultaneously? (looks exactly like yours- no separate controls).

    Thanks for the video!

  • Yes it does.

  • This is easier than I thought. Thanks.
