On est affectivement très proche de la perfection. Montserrat aura apporté à l'art lyrique une humanisation et un souci de la perfection vocale exceptionnels. Pour cela nous ne la remercierons jamais assez. Ce jour du 20 avril 1965 où elle entra sur la scène internationale avec son inoubliable Lucrezia, elle a dispensé beaucoup de joie et de bonheur a tant d'entre nous§§ Avec tout notre amour et notre respectueuse affection Monserrat

Manifiesta perfectamente el sentido del belcanto en esta aría de Bellini y es como debe ser. Yo no admiro a las sopranos chillonas, más bien aquellas que cantan con sabiduría y para esto hay que estudiar mucho.

Grande ,grandísima la Caballé. Ha habido otras que han interpretado el papel completo. Lamentablemente ella nunca lo hizo y comenzó a cantar este aria en los 80, sin embargo ninguna, ni mi admirada Sills soporta comparación con los ligados que hace Caballé

Credit must be given to Maestro Zanetti for a magnificent performance, which is in perfect concert with the exquisite rendition of Caballé. In her masterclass series at Juilliard, Callas attempts to coach a soprano on bellinian expression (with great success) in this very aria; it's worth listening to that session. Here Caballé demonstrates masterfully how this should be sung. Sills also gives a great performance of the aria. Brava Caballé!
