When American troops were entering Paris and celebrating...polish last act for freedom was doomed. We couldn't win we new that it will be gone. I do not believe that was necessary, commanders new that

Warsaw Rising was a tragic mistake, no doubt... But it's easy to say it now when we know of Russian treason and Western passiveness. But i think and have a good reason for it, even without Rising, warsaw would be a place of another massive battle between nazis and Soviets like Wroclaw/Breslau, Budapest or Berlin itself,

Young men were called to assemble to built fortifications, Warsaw was declared a fortress. There would be a massive carnage, city would be destroyed anyway, civilians would be murdered by Nazis and Soviets alike, does it really make that much difference. At least they all fought and fought like hell, died like heroes, not like soldiers of Polish resistance in other regions sent to siberia for helping red Army in liberation of Poland...

That was a situation which we are not able to understand.

This is a part of tragic Polish history. It`s an honour to die for your fatherland,wish i was there...But the most tragic is the fact that Western countries knew that uprisng had no chance, because they made a pact with Stalin and made Poland part of Soviet system. Thank you for good words for participants. This interesting is also that all happened in the centre of the Warsaw. When it was already after all we stood up squads in the row. We looked on combatants, the participants of these events. Some of them cried from the emotion. The the most splendid prize was this for us.

This is a good quality reenactment. To be honest I think this is the best reenactment of something not from a movie.

After 28 days Germans killed all wounded Polish Soldiers and dr Petrynowska in PWPW Buliding. During first 10 days of Warsaw Uprising 44 German Troopers Kiled over 100.ooo Civilians. They caouldn't easy win in city fights so Germans used Civilians as live shilds. The best book about it is Norman Davis.
