The Shivering isle is an game add on. You will not lose ur data, level or items. U just put the shivering isles cd on ur xbox, pc or wathever u have, wait 4 it to upload and then put the original Oblivion game on. Then u should start ur last save game and u will hear a rumor of a strange door, find it and there u go Shivering Isles. (sorry 4 the bad English)

due to the fact this is rpg but not mmorpg noone can see u sneaking, npcs dont use detect life... the other thing is that mage would have to detect life all the time which is pretty mana expensive and sneaking archers with at least 50 on marksman can zoom u and crit from great distanc.. i suppose u wont even see it with life detection...

Shivering Isles is an expansion to Oblivion. So just buy Oblivion, if you choose to, then go on XBox Live or PSN or whatever then download it. After installation, it will take a while for it to kick in while playing the game. I have yet to dare myself to enter the portal, but I heard the place is real fun. *shrug*
