Keith Richards, in his book, Life, is very kind to Faithfull, crediting her as an über muse, not just inspiring songs but helping Jagger write the lyrics. She also says Jagger wrote Sympathy for the Devil after she gave him a Russian novel about Satan. This is what I mean by my previous statements used that is what she was. Read Richards book. Behind every man(yuk) is a great women, she had the ideas she voice the newness.
Why can't I get the idea out of my head that Marianne Faithful was used to the tenth degree by the Rolling Stones? I was a toddler when this song was made but I had an older sister who introduced me to many different types of music. When I see and hear this woman's videos and songs I get a sick feeling that she was set up.
Marianne was so beautiful, like an angel. Wish I could look like her. This woman was/is so talented yet they dismiss this kind of talent over the shit that plays today on the radio.
Marianne Faithfull led quite a life. Her book, Faithfull is awesome. She was (is) one tough woman. She may have looked innocent and fragile but she was strong...and lived in a free wild time. she was a very pretty young woman and a hard life looking woman today. She is remarkable and so talented.
very nice video she is who she is and what ever is a private life is nort important she is a wonderfull singer and I love all her songs....thanks for posting...laurence michel0512
At Danceswithjoy...What exactly leads you to presume that I haven't read her auto/biographies?! :o/ I was merely referring to the way she must've been feeling when she penned thd lyrics to this song! & yes, I know exactly where she was when she wrote it & what she was doing there!!! ;^)
@Nomieghirl I respectfully suggest that anyone who thinks 'poor' marianne read her autobiographies and listen to any interviews that one can find here and other places.
where can i find this specific recording?

@sanjoe86 None of us would've heard of her if it wasn't for The Rolling Stones & Andrew Loog Oldham...

at 3:32 I love the disgust and contempt Mick Jagger has for the photographer.
