@XxjosephabrenicaxX that proves he is tough. and maybe a bit stupid. pretty sure if you approached a survival situation like that you would die quickly.
@XxjosephabrenicaxX eating elephant crap is just plain stupid, you can get so many diseases from it. i dont know if you saw, but in one episode cody took some nuts from elephant crap and ate those, but after washing them off. also eating dead animals? cody and dave catch at least one animal and eat it each episode. some things they've eaten: beating python heart, live scorpions, tortoise penis, snake, eel, grubs, nightcrawlers, etc. point it, they are badasses but they're smart about it
@GorgeousPanda You can eat bugs in the jungle, but there is only rat in the city. Really! What are your choices of food during an urban survival situations? Dogs? Cat? Rat?
dude the born to be wild thing with cody walking up the mountain is awsome he is such a cool dude looks like hes got things fugured out. you are awsome cody...awsome.

@OnkelRampe well maybe you should consider thinking before typing... if you sound like a "hater" then you're gonna get called out as one. Why? just joking? how does anyone know that?
Too many Bear Grylls bashers online who've never stepped outside their house, never eaten anything they didn't get from the fridge, but they're experts on survival somehow and call everyone else frauds.
@OnkelRampe sssshhhhuuuussss.... Cody has been doing this longer then you knew about Bear Grylls. He lives this lifestyle, he doesn't go home to his flat when the shoot wraps up... he eats like that all the time, not just when cameras are rolling. Get a clue.
@darrylhaynes Wait until the SHTF and jobs are fewer then honest politicians and supermarkets are closed because petrol costs more per gallon then the car payments... "hungry" isn't something the average consumer really understands.
I understand him being primative. But why not wear shoes? every group of people in history has tried to protect their feet with some sort of shoes. make some shoes out of wood for god sake.
@skew06 ,yeah same thought here.I saw him wearing gloves in the cold. And primitive people did what they could to stay warm. The Eskimos or the people living with Reindeer wear those fur made soft shoes. They are very comfortable.Indian wering moccasins.I think he overdoes it a bit sometimes. You can have contact with mother nature without hugging the cold snow with the naked body.As Buddha said mr.Cody, always walk the middle path.Avoid extremes.
@555Nato he's said elsewhere, i think on the series he's on, that he's trying to basically turn himself into the closest a person can get to a superman, forcing himself to face extreme temperatures with the least amount of protection. it's just a personal thing he does, not something he advises others to do. same with the shoes.
@msa1985 ,AH ! ok.Does make me of the iceman,Wim Hof.He is a Dutch man into extremes by meditating too.Interesting.But i saw Cody advocate his naked feet by saying most primitive people walked around like that.Yes ,they did,but they protected themselves also when needed.Anyway,I like Cody a lot. He's a good guy with good ideas.
Not really. He's just passionate and probs sick of the thing he loves 'nature' being turned into a toilet as he says. He's givin out a good message also and not selling anything except himself, his skills and his knowledge. Its a real shame more folks dont pay attention to folks like him. The world would be a much better place dont you think?
@branni79 I think it is because people like to stay in their comfort zone. How many people have experienced living in a place cut of from modern society? I remember the first time I went to the jungle I was shocked at seeing how people can live so self sufficient. Shocked at seeing children being happy without having anything.

Bugs, rats, and cats are nice but if you prepare properly
(even for a long term major disaster that ends life as we know it forevermore)
you can be eating potatoes, tomatoes, ham and eggs... IF you prepare "properly" vs waiting until one second after disaster strikes to think about preparations... That would be just one second too late :-/
I save the rat hydes for the kiddies they love to dress up their GI Joe in rat skins.
Down here in Louisiana all you need is a pellet gun and you can eat nutrea everyday these animals are considered great to eat they eat their veggies thats all. The nutrea is plentiful and are not too fearful of man so you can get close enough to take one out with a pellet. A 22 cal riffle would be good too but if you wanted to be stealth use an air riffle. Turtles, fish, squrrels,h20 everywhere.
You can run out but his way is really a last resort bc he will admit he didn't trap that rat just in time for this production you could wait a long time for a treat to arrive in your trap. Another animal could take your spoil anyway around here you would have to be Johnny on the spot bc we have fire ants they will eat you alive let alone dead rodents you set a trap for. The sentiment of an ignorant "arm chair elitist".....fact is, survival in this atmosphere is pretty hard for the average person. It's hot, you probably won't have the amount of water that you need, it gets VERY cold at night, and the average person, regardless of what atmosphere you're in will simply not know what to do to get by a day, let alone a week.
Oh, i though temperature stays warm all the time... I can tolerate heat, but not cold, so thats what i though - its not a big deal. I was wrong then. Anyway, this nature is waaaayyyyy easier to survive at, than some snowy/rainy forests
Justas, this guy is in central Utah, Millard County if you ask me. The weather lives in so many extremes. In the summer we get temperatures upwards of 105 Fahrenheit (40.5 Centigrade) and in the winter we got down to -18 Fahrenheit (-27.8 Centigrade). Water is scarce and the sun is brutal. The deadfall trap is great out there because it will catch anything that trips it. I have eaten many a good jack rabbit because of it :D
@MightyJustas Haha yeah right. Come out here for one week and try to survive dude. It is cold. You can have high temperatures during the day of 37 degrees celcius to -10 at night. There is little rain, so good luck finding water. ignorant people should keep their mouths shut.
What about wild dogs after TEOTWAWKI? I'd hate to be out there when all the neighborhood dogs turned feral come looking to share my meal, whether I like it or not.
in a survival situation the best weapon to have is a .22 long riffle! you can carry tons of ammo, its easy to get, and you can easily kill a dog under 200yards away if you can shoot. Save the 12G and the AR for the animals on TWO LEGS!
you need a good 22 lr and a 410 shot gun the shotgun can be used as a mussleoader if all rounds are spent and it will also take a 45 long colt as well
The best stuff in your survival kit are the things that only close friends know. Guns, chemicals, food, medications, 55Gal drums of water, items buried in 33Gal jugs, etc. The food saver vacuum packaging system works great! Wrap the sharp or pointy parts and suck out the air! You could store something in the back of your toilet with this system! My 410/45 long colt is shorter than yours! It fits in my shirt pocket! Im set fairly good! Well see what Obama does now! Ban dnt wk b-4 why do it agin
Excellent philosophy and a fantastic demonstration. Self sufficiency in its simplest form: knowledge and sustainable utilization of your surroundings.
Wonderful...:)

Excellent philosophy and a fantastic demonstration. Self sufficiency in its simplest form: knowledge and sustainable utilization of your surroundings.
Cheers!
