  • Wonderful...:)

  • Cody IS the best of the best. Not only does he demonstrate ultimate survival skills, he also provides video for over eaters. Watch the rat butchering demo and you won't want to eat.

  • LOL "Hear I am bing greedy.... Who wants the head?!?"

  • Nice shirt. I think he makes his own clothes, that is awesome.

  • @squathacker I think he does a combo of his own and storebought.

  • im eating a rat as i watch this.. great vid!

  • How long can the rat be dead before its too late to eat?

  • bear grylls is better

  • @XxjosephabrenicaxX buuuuuulllllllll craaaap did bear grylls live 27 years in the wild !!?!?!? besides bear grylls usually stays at a cabin off camera he admited it!!!!!!!!

  • @survivorman0824 But he drink his own piss, eat elephant crap, eat dead animals and broke his back in 3 places and still his alive

  • @XxjosephabrenicaxX that proves he is tough. and maybe a bit stupid. pretty sure if you approached a survival situation like that you would die quickly.

  • @XxjosephabrenicaxX eating elephant crap is just plain stupid, you can get so many diseases from it. i dont know if you saw, but in one episode cody took some nuts from elephant crap and ate those, but after washing them off. also eating dead animals? cody and dave catch at least one animal and eat it each episode. some things they've eaten: beating python heart, live scorpions, tortoise penis, snake, eel, grubs, nightcrawlers, etc. point it, they are badasses but they're smart about it

  • @schapadap dual survival didnt have any interviews even in jimmy kimmel live

  • @schapadap and his video about the cat rat so commonly use and it didnt catch any in action

  • "Really cool shit that works." lol Cody Lundin rocks!

  • yummy...lets eat...

  • This guy is fucking crazy.

  • @GorgeousPanda You can eat bugs in the jungle, but there is only rat in the city. Really! What are your choices of food during an urban survival situations? Dogs? Cat? Rat?

  • "Who wants the head?"

    Way to go, Cody.

But could you show us how to remove the bones?

  • @wheelinthesky300 uh, you don't. if you did that, there'd be no meat left.

    crunch crunch

  • @wheelinthesky300 you dont remove bones. its like any other meat, just pick the bones out of the meat when you are eatin it lol

  • @wheelinthesky300 you'd want to eat around the bones like most meat

  • Used to make those traps, they are good, but i prefer fishing, all about trading one potential food for a better one.

  • dude the born to be wild thing with cody walking up the mountain is awsome he is such a cool dude looks like hes got things fugured out. you are awsome cody...awsome.

  • That looks more appetizing then some of the meat you get in the grocery store. Atleast what he's eating is a fresh kill.

  • That rat would go well if it was stuffed with rice and some tomato paste.

  • Im hungry now.

  • squeak squeak squeak!

  • The closest I come to ruffing it is eating a can of cold Beef Ravioli out of the can with a plastic spoon from my bed room watching this stuff on my laptop lol......

  • The closest I get to ruffing it is eating a can of Beef Ravioli out of the can with a plastic spoon...

  • Amen Cody............

  • @NWBushman i couldnt have said it any better my friend...

  • @OnkelRampe well maybe you should consider thinking before typing... if you sound like a "hater" then you're gonna get called out as one. Why? just joking? how does anyone know that?

Too many Bear Grylls bashers online who've never stepped outside their house, never eaten anything they didn't get from the fridge, but they're experts on survival somehow and call everyone else frauds.

  • @OnkelRampe sssshhhhuuuussss.... Cody has been doing this longer then you knew about Bear Grylls. He lives this lifestyle, he doesn't go home to his flat when the shoot wraps up... he eats like that all the time, not just when cameras are rolling. Get a clue.

  • Natural pest control, "green" as can be!!!

How much antibiotics do you have to ingest, Cody?

Must've caught a few intestinal parasites from time to time... no?

  • i dont think i could eat a rat...

  • @darrylhaynes Wait until the SHTF and jobs are fewer then honest politicians and supermarkets are closed because petrol costs more per gallon then the car payments... "hungry" isn't something the average consumer really understands.

  • @darrylhaynes you can eat anything when your truly hungry. If its a sick rat no way but if its healthy, its just warm food on the go.

  • People all over the world should learn how to live, great videos man and many will need this info soon :)

  • I understand him being primative. But why not wear shoes? every group of people in history has tried to protect their feet with some sort of shoes. make some shoes out of wood for god sake.

  • @skew06 ,yeah same thought here.I saw him wearing gloves in the cold. And primitive people did what they could to stay warm. The Eskimos or the people living with Reindeer wear those fur made soft shoes. They are very comfortable.Indian wering moccasins.I think he overdoes it a bit sometimes. You can have contact with mother nature without hugging the cold snow with the naked body.As Buddha said mr.Cody, always walk the middle path.Avoid extremes.

  • @555Nato he's said elsewhere, i think on the series he's on, that he's trying to basically turn himself into the closest a person can get to a superman, forcing himself to face extreme temperatures with the least amount of protection. it's just a personal thing he does, not something he advises others to do. same with the shoes.

  • @msa1985 ,AH ! ok.Does make me of the iceman,Wim Hof.He is a Dutch man into extremes by meditating too.Interesting.But i saw Cody advocate his naked feet by saying most primitive people walked around like that.Yes ,they did,but they protected themselves also when needed.Anyway,I like Cody a lot. He's a good guy with good ideas.

  • Rat scratch fever. Go Cody. Alabama B co. 2/1 196th LIB RVN 1970-71

  • its fake it was stated on his website

  • @blinkvirus

Not really. He's just passionate and probs sick of the thing he loves 'nature' being turned into a toilet as he says. He's givin out a good message also and not selling anything except himself, his skills and his knowledge. Its a real shame more folks dont pay attention to folks like him. The world would be a much better place dont you think?

  • @branni79 I think it is because people like to stay in their comfort zone. How many people have experienced living in a place cut of from modern society? I remember the first time I went to the jungle I was shocked at seeing how people can live so self sufficient. Shocked at seeing children being happy without having anything.

  • sounds weird somehow, but thats the modern boy ya know

Respect man Supermarkets suck dont even see or know anymore what we eating

I find this just cool but am I that cool also?

Made some surogate tea from pinetree tough drunk by the brittish in WW2 hehe

got to have a nice cup of tea so now and then

Got that from me survival handbook.. sas as its named

    Good day chap

  • good knowlegable guy. i enjoy his videos... apart from his constant pushing of his philosophies, most are true but it's the way he puts them forward that's a bit asshole-ish

  • Mmm rat-a-liscious

  • Geeze, I hope things don't get too tight, we might run low on rats to eat :(

  • 3:28 -- Austrian Economist! he he he

  • yess!

  • This guy is awesome. I'm going to buy

    one of his books.

  • I love this guy!!!

  • This guy has balls!!!

  • Allright, I understand the will of survival in this video(the demonstration...), but I myself have pet rats, and i hate to watch it crap. No offence.

  • How come les stroud (survivorman) never catches a damn thing.

  • ... really cool shit that works.

  • I raise feeder rats for snakes.... when my grocery budget gets tight i often start looking at the rats a little funny and ponder if they actually taste good lol

  • squeak squeak squeak BAM!!!

  • lmao i do the same for my girls dolls

  • Very knowledgeable, top bloke and probs the best 6-7 minute survival/wilderness living vid on the net by a country mile. His no bullshit attitude and obvious respect for nature and the folks who live in it makes him stand out from all the other run of the mill instructors. Keep up the good work cody.

Can anyone advise on where to get his video material from ie documentaries etc? Would be very much appreciated.

  • hey abodudeman how do you have all these videos of cody lundin???? do you kno him or are you him??? just wondering!!!! o and if you made videos or updated your page i would subscribe! let me kno if you do!!!

  • @shadeshiest22 I would guess it is Cody or a very well thought out fraud. Check out his website.

  • @shadeshiest22

    This is Cody's youtube page.

Yes It is ran by him, but he HARDLY ever is on it he is too busy.

My husband and I check his youtube page and his facebook page once a week, answer questoins and let him know if there is something important that he needs to look at.

    Hope that helps :-)

  • this guy is my new hero.

  • @thaiguysabu I picked up his book in Jackson Hole Wyoming and read it front to back. 98.6 degrees. The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive and made a comedy video to honor it.

  • doesn't that smash the poop sack and spread bacteria around?

  • @RMCrowley Magic of fire

  • i grew up in the wild closest neighbor was 3 and half hours away...my stepather used to catch rats by hand he would go out in a feild stand there and scan the ground for a couple minutes wait for soemthing to move than he would get the rat..i was amazed by it when i was a kid...

  • rats are delicious

  • @dliwehtfollacsutube

Never ate a rat but I had guinea pig in Otavalo Ecuador. They're a staple of the diet down there.

  • lmfao for the kiddies like to dress up thier barbies and gi joes in rat skin

  • Funny thing is that rat's probably better for ya than fast food.

  • lol I bet it is!

  • @HG2013 i don't think probably, i am sure it is.

  • @HG2013 I'd pick that over a big mac any day...

  • @HG2013 Thank you for your comment-very intelligent. The zombies do not share your opinion. Bigggggggggg Maccccccccccccccccccccccc!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Hopefully, I shall not be reduced to rat consumption; but it is great to know that the much maligned verminicus is palatable and perhaps tasty.

  • "squeek, squeek, squeek...bam" funny, interesting, saved, favourited, subscribed

  • Bugs, rats, and cats are nice but if you prepare properly

(even for a long term major disaster that ends life as we know it forevermore)

you can be eating potatoes, tomatoes, ham and eggs... IF you prepare "properly" vs waiting until one second after disaster strikes to think about preparations... That would be just one second too late :-/

  • I save the rat hydes for the kiddies they love to dress up their GI Joe in rat skins.

Down here in Louisiana all you need is a pellet gun and you can eat nutrea everyday these animals are considered great to eat they eat their veggies thats all. The nutrea is plentiful and are not too fearful of man so you can get close enough to take one out with a pellet. A 22 cal riffle would be good too but if you wanted to be stealth use an air riffle. Turtles, fish, squrrels,h20 everywhere.

  • yeah, but you can run out of pellets.

  • You can run out but his way is really a last resort bc he will admit he didn't trap that rat just in time for this production you could wait a long time for a treat to arrive in your trap. Another animal could take your spoil anyway around here you would have to be Johnny on the spot bc we have fire ants they will eat you alive let alone dead rodents you set a trap for. We have way differnt critters and topography The nations 2nd largest swamp is less than 20 miles from my house.Turtles fish etc

  • i have gratitude for modern technology

  • ha ha ha ''who wants the head.''

  • tobigforyou, who sings that version of born to be wild is the band that originally wrote it, so Stepen Wolf. And that´s the original version of it. That song has been recorded somany times by somany different bands that it´s no wonder people get confused about it!

  • Thanks allot man. YES! it is so confusing because so many bands have sung it!

  • I don't know if that's such an intelligent thing to do, eating wild rats... what with all the diseases?

  • skin the rat(fleas gone) then you will want to gut it(intestines poop etc gone) then you cook it very well that should kill the rest.

  • Survivorman actually burned the hair off as to not have to come into contact with possible fleas because the plague does still exist out in the southwest.

Also, from what I have read, native american people did fassion some footwear.

  • Awesome insight. yeah I remember watching Les burn off the hair of a ground squirrel.

that is why we should always get our knowledge not just from one source. everybody knows something. but the true master is the one who can learn from all.

  • @tobigforyou

Thanks man for the reply, yes, it is very important to always be learning. And I mean, I am not bagging Cody for his choice to go shoeless, I mean it does have some merit, I just think if ya can, ya might as well. Of course, I am flat-footed, so I would also have to fassion inserts! HAHA

  • Who sings this version of Born to be Wild?

  • HAHAHAHA 4:26

    this guys great

  • yummy

  • Very well done.

  • "really cool shit that works" lol i totally agree with his outlook on our society

  • Thats cool.. But survival in nature like this is not too hard:) No cold, no rain, making of fire is easy...

  • The sentiment of an ignorant "arm chair elitist".....fact is, survival in this atmosphere is pretty hard for the average person. It's hot, you probably won't have the amount of water that you need, it gets VERY cold at night, and the average person, regardless of what atmosphere you're in will simply not know what to do to get by a day, let alone a week.

  • Oh, i though temperature stays warm all the time... I can tolerate heat, but not cold, so thats what i though - its not a big deal. I was wrong then. Anyway, this nature is waaaayyyyy easier to survive at, than some snowy/rainy forests

  • Justas, this guy is in central Utah, Millard County if you ask me. The weather lives in so many extremes. In the summer we get temperatures upwards of 105 Fahrenheit (40.5 Centigrade) and in the winter we got down to -18 Fahrenheit (-27.8 Centigrade). Water is scarce and the sun is brutal. The deadfall trap is great out there because it will catch anything that trips it. I have eaten many a good jack rabbit because of it :D

  • Cody is actually in Prescott Arizona. Sonoran Desert. pretty hardcore. go to codylundin . c o m for more info. his school is really cool

  • Alright. I can see that. It all starts to blend together :D

  • @MightyJustas Again... you're an idiot.

  • @MrVoiceofreason123 Hey hey, you know what? FUCK YOU

  • @MightyJustas haha Ok you babbling idiot.

  • @MightyJustas Haha yeah right. Come out here for one week and try to survive dude. It is cold. You can have high temperatures during the day of 37 degrees celcius to -10 at night. There is little rain, so good luck finding water. ignorant people should keep their mouths shut.

  • Your rock man i dont care about nothing we all eat shit lol you rock man

  • LOL 4:27 I wonder if he tells them what it is made of.

  • This Cody dude is cool. Very resourceful and offering lessons that we can all benefit from. Keep up the good work!

  • I would love to hang out with this dude. Seriously. I bet he's not worried about the economy or retirement funds. He's all set.

  • lmao the swearing is hilarious cody is definatly a beast

  • What about wild dogs after TEOTWAWKI? I'd hate to be out there when all the neighborhood dogs turned feral come looking to share my meal, whether I like it or not.

  • Thats when you bust out the 12 gauge or ar15 and hose them with lead

  • in a survival situation the best weapon to have is a .22 long riffle! you can carry tons of ammo, its easy to get, and you can easily kill a dog under 200yards away if you can shoot. Save the 12G and the AR for the animals on TWO LEGS!

  • you need a good 22 lr and a 410 shot gun the shotgun can be used as a mussleoader if all rounds are spent and it will also take a 45 long colt as well

  • The best stuff in your survival kit are the things that only close friends know. Guns, chemicals, food, medications, 55Gal drums of water, items buried in 33Gal jugs, etc. The food saver vacuum packaging system works great! Wrap the sharp or pointy parts and suck out the air! You could store something in the back of your toilet with this system! My 410/45 long colt is shorter than yours! It fits in my shirt pocket! Im set fairly good! Well see what Obama does now! Ban dnt wk b-4 why do it agin

  • Excellent philosophy and a fantastic demonstration. Self sufficiency in its simplest form: knowledge and sustainable utilization of your surroundings.

    Cheers!
