  • Have this guitar. Love how it plays, but I wish it wasn't so neck heavy.

  • @WetaGuy Yeah , that's the same with gibson! If you play a half hour with that guitar on your neck than it's killing u >.<

  • check my channel only if you want to see my guitar

  • CRANK ON THE METAL BOXES. (It'll cover all your sloppy mistakes)

  • if someone wants a cheaper guitar than gus 600 copy paste this on ebay:

    1984 Ibanez DT-250 X-Series Guitar

    and you will find it

  • Looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5:06

Do you have the coil tap on? It sounds really nice.

  • what do u guys think about a "Lee Jackson XLS 1000"?

  • Just ordered the new ESP version, can't wait for it! I also really love the Roope Latvala one, I got the ESP one of that too. The random stars are way sick looking and comfortable to hold sitting and standing.

  • @mgdth502 WAIT YOU HAVE THE ESP ONE WHERE DO YOU LEAVE I WANT US TO BE FRIENDS

  • damn you sure do have allot of amp heads!!!

  • i think you need more amps....

  • Which one do you like better? This guitar or Gus' other signature guitar (the Les Paul/ ESP Eclipse shaped one)?

  • what a sound :/

  • great tone. but, uh, very cheesy and cheap sounding licks. lazy playing.

  • I have a DT350 as well! It's my favorite incarnation of the star shape. I think Ibanez should get rid of the Xiphos series and re-release the DT250/350 with modern features.

  • Where can I get my hands on one of these? Everywhere I look I can only find the 200

  • i want this baby so badly but there are no money here in greece:P i guess ill have to make it through with my ltd mh100qmnt:(

  • @XJohnTheNightrager

    poula kana xwrafi ^^

  • @XJohnTheNightrager douleia s leei kati poula thn allh kai parthn emena tha erthei se 4 meres h dikia m me to floyd rose

  • hello i really like this guitar but i cant decide between the 600 ec or this one wich one is better for all round playing styles cause ive heard you can only really play metal with it please let me know on what you think.

    thanks.

    you dudes rock:)

  • i wish i could be a troll and say something mean about this but i cant..... your awesome, SUBSCRIBED

  • is it true that theres a bad neck dive?

  • Hey tone king I got a question, sorry if you already stated this but does this guitar have a bad neck dive?

  • What's the "mmmkay" situation with TTK on this video? It felt like watching a South Park episode :) The 2nd time the guitar's being played, it sounds a great deal of muddy. I'm not sure if it's caused by Seymour Duncan 59 :L

  • Awesum playin TTK...seriously!!! BTW is that guitar light???

  • is this guitar discontinued? because i cant find it anywhere

  • @SkinnyKidStudiosltd It still exists in the ESP catalogue. You can buy it online ;-|

  • Very nice video! I'm jealous cause you have that axe, man lol. Do the tones already come like that? Or are you using effects? I'm curious and about to consider buying one.

  • How did you get that guitar ? is it available in guitar stores.

  • @AfroAlex97 yes ... well not in all guitar stores but you can find it

  • Guitar looks cool but the distorted sound is too muddy IMO

  • how the fuck did you get money to buy all of these guitars?

  • It remembers me the EVH Shark explorer - Very eyecatcher guitar

  • that guitar is so easy to play siting down

  • It's sad that lefties like me can't have most of those "bad boy's" guitars =/ only if it's ESP and only if you pay more...

  • @ArXiDoSpAsT1S i feel your burden dude :(

  • @ArXiDoSpAsT1S Warmoth sells that body shape and instead of it being custom to what he wants its custom to what you want. plus its only gonna cost about 1200 to 1500 instead of the 8000 that ESP is gonna want to make it for u. i also am a lefty and i love this guitar shape and thats how i got around not having to pay 8000 dollars hah

  • @alecxg Doesn't Warmoth only make bolt-on necks?

  • @Ningirsutyr yeah.

  • @Ningirsutyr yeah. they only make bolt on necks because then people can customize there guitars with whatever they want or if there not buying a neck from them they can try to put something else on there.

  • @alecxg Yeah but I believe that there's a tonal difference between having this set-thru neck in the LTD model rather than having a bolt-on neck from Warmoth just for the sake of having a custom-tailored instrument when it's not the same thing in essence. Although having rerun through Warmoth, I noticed that the neck pocket could be chosen with no mounting holes, hence available for set-neck construction at least...That being said, it still wouldn't be a set-thru, plus Warmoth charging huge ;(

  • Very nice demonstration. Good explanation.

  • ESP calls it the random star, but you can't tell me it's not a washburn/dean ripoff..

  • @doublekicks2004 so? Thats what companies do, they rip each other off. The best ones remain in the end.

  • ANYBODY REMEMBER ARBOR GUITARS? I HAVE ONE WITH THE SAME BODY SHAPE! VERY RARE!

  • I WILL STEAL THIS GUITAR

  • Does EMG have a good clean sound ? Just want your opinion

  • @wisesatyr72 The EMG 60 has a great clean.

  • what's the #1 flaw of this guitar?

  • shes a beauty

  • very good review...1 more subscriber 4 you...keep up the good work man!!!

  • I love this guitar but bought the Roope ltd because i cant live without 24 frets. Tried them both and compared them in the store the same day, plan to install a neck pickup on the Roope

  • tone king does having a humbucker without covers have more output than with covers?

  • @rockpwnsu It allows more of the string vibrations to be picked up by the pickups, which usually results in a "clearer" or more "open" sound, but it can give the guitar a higher output as far as gain goes.

  • @klummster88 thanks for the input

  • i want one pf these because charvel and jackson stars almost dont exist anymore

  • this guitar would be even more amazing with an ebony fretboard imho.

  • i love how he kinda luks like he's givin the finger to bieber

  • In two weeks it´s mine !

  • Btw, is that a battery compartment back there?

  • @dimgrav Those are passive pickups, so there is no battery compartment.. i think :P

  • @joniiboy I know dude, that's why I got curious :)

  • Want this soooooooooo badly!!! Gus is the man and this guitar is pure sex.

  • Hey ToneKing!

Check out the PRS Paul Allender, the newer model with the EMG's (81tw -89), I've got one, its a shredding machine!

  • there was also the ESP Star guitar used by Akira Takasaki in the 80s

  • looks like the star guitar

  • The Duncan Distortion is my favorite pickup

  • i believe Gus uses EMGs

  • @j12elliott wrong

  • Very pretty guitar.

  • Tone King, great review and a nice sounding guitar. I recently read a Gus G interview and he's now using duncan blackout active pickups. Do you know if you can get these as an option in this guitar. thanx

  • @chris1969kw

i've played a few guitars with blackouts. They are really hot pickups, which is great in some respects. but they're really surgical, you need to play so fucking clean with them, because if you screw up in the slightest they bring it right to front. They do sound a lot better than my emg's though.

  • is this the one that dosent suck lol hey ttk whats up

  • man i wish i had that!!!

  • Great lighting TK :-) LOL That is one sweet axe. Has that Gibson Explorer look but with more rounded edges on it. Plus about one third the cost. So how do you like the overall tones your getting fromm your new Marshall JMD-1? All the Marshalls under one roof. How does the Digital part of that amp sound live? Can you tell there is a digital pre-amp in it? I will be getting a new rear tire for the ol' Hog next week. Mine looks like a racing slick. Have a good weekend.

  • it would be pretty cool with a Floyd!

  • @NickGuitarMalfara13 But the good thing about the bridge setup is the ease of tuning (alternative) as well as changing strings.

I'm personally a fan of through body.

  • I love everything about that axe except for the body style and the placement of the electronics. I'm more of a standard strat body style man, I play an MH-100 myself. But the color/display scheme and construction of this guitar looks fantastic.

  • Love that axe

  • I like the Roope Latvala RL600 LTD better, Floyd, 24 fret ebony board, EMG passive, Strat jack on the long side of the star.

  • @metalmouth13 only downside is the lack of a neck pup...

  • @ryankuisti theres an invention call a router its been around since, FUCK IDK, when people needed to make precise hole making. LOL

  • @metalmouth13 ya but not everybody wants to buy a guitar then fucking mutilate it. i have an alexi laiho signature and i love it, and i wud never consider cutting a hole for a neck pup

  • @metalmouth13 but other than that i like the roope 10x better

  • Slick axe for sure. Great review.

  • TTK - you need a long beard dude!

  • Hey TTK. Nice review. I bought this very guitar a few days ago. I also bought the Kerry King EMG 81/85 set for another guitar. Well, I couldn't resist, so I installed it into the Gus G 600. The coil tap switch was replaced with the PA2 boost switch that came with the set! Perfect fit. 20 extra db of gain for my vintage Marshall JCM800. Whoa! Talk about overdriving an amp! I cant put it down. \m/

  • hey ttk, were you ever in a band, your awesome

  • your picking hand looks like your flipping people off LOL

  • Not a bad axe at all.

ESP, LTD by Gus G...sheesh, DONT catch an STD or a VD!

    LOL!

  • Nice vid as usual TTK Thanks ;o)

  • Ivory bindings? Genuine Ivory or syntec?

  • @b44styreraug Of course synthetic! Every1 KNOWS real ivory is ILLEGAL!

  • @ace69er

That's why I am really curious. Cuz I heard people using stuff like irovy and cow bone to make a guitar's nuts.

  • @b44styreraug Cow bone yes, thats legal (and really not far different from ivory, which is just elephant tooth.

Bone is probably 1 of the best natural nut materials.

  • Could you look into reviewing some guitars from the Agile line?

  • So is this an actual maple top, or just a veneer? I have seen some veneers that started to peel off while still brand new on the rack at Guitar Center.

  • never stop doing your thing Tone KIng!

    love your videos

    :D

  • yeah I'm gonna be one of the many who had no idea what a set through neck was...I actually really like everything on this where it is and everything and I'm usually anti-signature... swap the tuners to grover or sperzel and its perfect though.

but if I'm right didn't Gus switch to blackouts I saw it on seymour duncans interview with him I'm very sure.

  • I love stars but I cannot play them because I have a weird left hand position where I hold my wrist more at a right angle to the neck and it will conflict with that lower horn at high frets.

  • You are the man, King!

  • @AwesomerAbe haha - thanks AwesomerAbe!!

  • @lmsjr you the king, man!

  • does anybody even listen to firewind? i sure as fuck dont

  • @ryankuisti Hell yes Firewind rules!

  • Love that fiddle!

  • Set-Through? Did you mean Neck-through or Set Neck?

  • @fluff191 Set-Through (aka Set-Thru) is it's own thing. It's a very deeply cut set neck. Go to wikipedia, and search for Set-Thru for low down. Very few guitars actually have set-thru's, so when I find one - I'm all over it!! Rock on!

  • @lmsjr Holy Hell learn something new everyday! I have been playing for 16 years and have never heard of such a thing! Thank you sir!!!

  • @lmsjr Hey ToneKing, its more commonly known as Long Tenon Set Neck but I have to admit Set-Through sounds more practical.

Great video bud! Keep em coming!

  • @lmsjr what do you mean growing up you were a wasp fan what about now

  • woo! TTK is on fire!

  • im assuming this one is better than the first one you got?
