  • yeah have that in front of your door and if robbers come...

  • in school kid can get arrested for sniffing cannons

  • WTF!, looks like im the only one to realize that hes blowing it...

  • Just like a kid, after it blows up, get a good wiff...smells like.....victory!

  • MY CAR!!!!!

  • the sound it's like a baby gun

  • i was wonderin what that bang was at the walmart last week.

seriously its cool and did u do it in the parking lot?

  • what is the materiel it is built from?

    iron, steel,

    ABS,PVC or ?

  • @waterchildtera PVC, painted black.

See the video description for a link to directions for building or see other comments from me on this and my other carbide cannon videos.

  • Pull the plug and kiss it

  • Well that was random.

  • Mmm inhaling hot co2

  • Lol, here in the Netherlands we use this for fun with the iro old milk canisters.. Some even go as far as making one as huge cannons... X-D Just search for Carbid Schieten and you will get allot of video's...

  • put a handful of BB's down the barrel. . .

  • your dad whiffs acetylene gas!!! lol

  • @CreQ Exhales to clear the waste gas and get it ready faster to fire again.

  • @mrericsully

lol ;) i know man i'm just teasin ya

  • you should check out: Carbidkanon Weerselo. it's the biggest carbide cannon we've got in holland ans that thing is powerful =)

  • thanks for the help

  • how did you make one that nice???

  • @astrosfan316 We followed a modified version of William Gurstelle's Backyard Ballistics. To make it black we just used spray paint, the naval carriage is custom and only roughly to scale. We're working on an Civil War style Army carriage now that we have found some affordable wheels. I'll be adding a link to the description soon that has the directions we followed.

  • awesome.

  • he is going to be my high school teacher in like 2 or 3 years...by the way my name Cody F. Emilys bro

  • Он не видел как бочки у россиян летают))

  • noobs

  • you forgot to tell the people no ammo lol, don't want someone making one and trying to fire actual ammo out of it

  • @spudinator1 why cant u shoot stuff?

  • Outside of the potential dangers, it is illegal in many states [including mine] it is illegal.

  • @mrericsully ohhh. im guessing those things are powerful

  • Not particularly, but there are hazards. My state in particular forbids anything fired by compress air or chemical reaction without proper permits (hunting, fireworks, shooting ranges, etc. where appropriate).

  • @mrericsully What backwards state do you live in?

  • Ohio

  • LOL im lmaoing so much >.>

you pull the plug and... sniff

  • SNIFF SNIFF

  • yum sniffs good

  • is calcium carbite hard to get?

  • @NotEnoughProductions Not really, my dad ordered it online and it can be found in some camping and mining supply stores.

  • Wow thats cool

  • lol gupowder the new drug u sniff lol joke. nice canon tho.

  • He blows into it

  • @kazack66 this isn't gunpowder is a mineral named carbide which produce acetylene gas when combined white h20. And when that gets ignited it will burn white a bang

  • @zwartje66100 It isn't quite literally a mineral since it isn't naturally occurring, but is instead man-made/produced, and its actual name is calcium carbide [carbide alone is a polyatomic ion that is C2^2-].

  • lol he smells it

  • He blows it

  • yea he probably blew it to get all teh gases out for the next shot so its the same water and calcium ratio

  • Close but those ratios don't change when he exhausts it. Rather he is trying to get the same acetylene to air/oxygen ratio (you breath out more than just CO2 and a little bit of Bernoulli's principle comes into play so breath works).

  • look on carbidkanon com

  • in holland we do this with milkcans on ald years eve. just search for "carbid schieten"

    you be amayesd

  • I've never seen one in action, thanks for sharing. If you had put in a projectile, what would it be & how far can it go? Thanks.

  • lmao. you look like a coke head at the end. sniffing the burnt gasses

  • @bacdaddy He's blowing the waste gas (mostly CO2) out to allow the acetylene to build up better.

  • Do you have a set of plans for that cannon?

I have a book called "Backyard Ballistics", which

shows one, but yours is much nicer (I love the naval cannon carriage).

Today (July 4th) I'll be finishing up a tennis

ball cannon adapted from the spudgun plans.

Have a look at my Valveless Pulsejet videos too

(Maybe I'll video & post the tennis ball cannon... if it works!)

  • The cannon is actually my dad's, but he used my book Backyard Ballistics as his basic outline. From there he modified it to add a sparker as a lighter (like the book has for the Spud Gun) and then he added a T-intersection near the back to make it easy to clean out. The naval carriage he just built on his own, but if you look at the video close (and the other couple that I have posted) you should be able to figure it out.

  • I have that book... it's awesome

  • Also, he's working on building another Army style cannon and was hoping to have it done for today (the 4th) with large wagon wheels and all. I think that he is going to post directions on Instructables as to how to build each.

I'll check out your videos later this weekend and look forward to you posting the others.

  • Just a quickie reply:

The tennis ball combustion cannon worked well.

Took some experimenting - found 1.5 sec of Berryman B-12 chemtool carb cleaner and a shot of air from the airhose worked great.

Eventually I'll buil an artillery piece w/ motorcycle wheels to tow behing my Ural for car/bike shows.

  • that's wicked :D

  • I am confused at the end, did that gentleman blow into the cannon, suck something out or simply got tired and bent down to go to sleep on the cannon?

  • Tried to blow out the waste/exhaust gas and thereby allow the acetylene gas to build up again.

  • I wish I had that cannon! Very cool!

  • i wish i did that experiment
