Here is some advice that might help you stand out from the pack of aspiring country singers:
Your voice is okay, but nonetheless isn't comparable with the Gretchen Wilsons of the world. Your best bet is to be a countrified Orianthi, somebody who can go toe to toe with the boys on guitar while still being a fairly passable singer who knows how to create or find songs right for her voice.
So since you talk about being into SRV and Slash, how about we see you bust out some flashy guitarwork?
@robibm2003 thanks for the advice, as for the flashy guitar work, I like to see how much I can express without going crazy on the fret board...my musical tastes are constantly evolving and thats one of my favorite things about music...SRV and Slash were the first guys I was crazy about, and at that period of time I was doing alot faster stuff with my les paul. For the last few years I've really looked up to people like Mark Knopfler...so tasteful and thoughtful about how he plays.
@robibm2003 And yes I completely agree, my voice does not stand up to the gretchen wilsons of the world as you say. I just started singing and look forward to improving, as I have aLOT of room to do so haha. same with playing! That said, I dont think attempting to do or sound like anyone else helps anybody's music; there is only one gretchen wilson, only one orianthi, only one bonnie raitt, and so on.
