  • This is just plain scary.

  • I used to be addicted to video games and put in 40 hours a week, but I had fun with it and I didn't look at it in a negative light...I now play 10-14 hours a week, which is a moderate amount.

  • I will look at video games in a whole new way.

    That is deep

  • Comment removed

  • this is. absolutely. amazing.<3

  • Games are Art ,Art is knowledge, knowledge is freedom.

DO NOT LET THEM TAKE YOUR FREEDOM!

  • lies only lies,Art is not addictive and video games are Art.

  • Its a well done video and its very true in alot of ways and im not hating on anyone here but this is crap. Just go outside hermits. Sorry

  • I am a video game addict i wonder how to stop i hear the voice in my head not to quit i see the guns and light in my eyes i want to play more i pretend i am in the game i feel angry when i lose i touch the screen to see if it's real i cry when i'm not playing i understand the reason why i have to play i say i will quit one day i dream about my strategy for the next time i play i try not to give up i hope to finish the game i am a video game addict
  • Pssh I can stop playing whenever I want. ...I just don't feel like it right now!

  • fake n gay

  • @SkateThe69 then yd u watch

  • 991,457 viewers too few...

this is exactly how i feel and i learn to balance out the solid structure of the real world as well as the unbound illusions of creativity.

btw i found this link on a website called

    h t t p COLON SLASH SLASH hubpages DOT com/hub/Video-Games-Have-Changed-the-World

  • Maybe he should just play games a little less, if they're freaking him out so bad. It's not crack, for cryin out loud. Just put the controller down and go find someone to play frisbee with. lol

  • @SpacemanSchmuck its not that easy i am also a game addict and its the games are so beautiful and you get your emotions involved its like your own world that you control your own destiny in

  • @SpacemanSchmuck I think there lies the problem. For some people, it IS crack. Playing video games releases dopamine and endorphins that make people feel good (endorphins are also released during sex). It's not surprising that some people who play video games a lot get addicted to the constant release of these natural drugs and crave more and more.

  • An tear drops from my eyes serieusly. i love this and feel the same way

  • Well i love games and if it brainwashing me. I really don't care so much. I have one life and i live it to the fullest. So i can say im happy and if there really was a way out of it, i would say no. Cuz from my point of view, real life is boring. (I get more feelings, more fun, more adventure from games than real life and if you think im wrong, its your opinion

  • Great Great Story.........If you think this a good peice look up Dr. James Gee...his talks on Video games being a tool for learning..a mind twist

  • @ SikiSoft & CourtneyCataclysm13

I wouldn't call it corny but artsy, and I think he definitely has a point about the boundaries of real and virtual worlds are starting to overlap. I'm not saying that everyone playing games will have a problem distinguishing the two. Games just make us feel good and powerful, while reality can be quite sucky. I think that emotionally troubled people can be tempted to prefer living in the virtual world, or sometimes bring that exileration to real life..

  • What is the music that starts at 1:30

    It's amazing.

I'd like to point out that video games are not fun in the traditional sense.

I can't wait to play the next final fantasy 13, and I want to play 1 through 5 which i've never played just as much, it's not because they're fun, it's because when I play them i feel fulfilled, i feel like i exist, i feel like I have friends and I am important. Maybe I feel that to a certain extent in real life too, but not on the level that I feel it in FF.

  • nice to see you keep things in perspective

CourtneyCataclysm13, but the point of this video is that his guy cannot, or is struggling to at least. And his predicament is no pretence. There are plenty of people with this addiction. It is costing people their relationships, their jobs, and in some cases quite literaly their sanity or even life (just google for it, brothers killing each other over virtual aquired items, people gaming themselves to death). So, ... yeh.

  • I agree with SikoSoft.

I play video games everyday, I read about new ones coming out and reviews on games that are out. They are a big part of my life, but I have never had them alter my state of reality because I separate the two. Video games are entertainment and/or an escape, they are not an entire life. The places, times and things happening in video games are great to visit, just not to stay.

  • Okay, I know I'll probably irritate some people here, but I'm going to say what I think anyhow:

This is - without a doubt - one of the most corny, cliche and pretentious thing I've ever seen.

  • go video gamers gamer for life!

  • wow after i watched your video i new that there is a whole world out there...... you made me reallize reallalty....and i thank you 4 that =)

  • In the future, the video games will play you.

  • maybe only in Russia

  • hahahah xD

  • I know how it feels. I was playing Call Of Duty WAW for loads of hours, slept, woke up and I was in one of the missions literally. It was spooky. And then when I wanted to phone someone I had held the phone like Tommy Vercetti does. It is strange

  • I'm an addict too, but i can make a difference between real life and virtual life, if i see a guy cut in a half in a game, it would not disgust me, but if i see a real person cut in a half, ew. My parents dont believe that some people can make the difference. They see that a lil kid drive a car 'cause he played GTA... Thats bullshit.

  • This film is really well made, the editing is flawless.. simply beautiful, i would like to know the sounds/songs used though,

  • Video games world Are more beautiful, if you take Crysis or Far cry 2 doesn't matter, you're in a fantastic world, that what i dream of. The real world is more important, but the virtual world offer you to travel to a place to another and to an era to another. That is beautiful

  • hey between 6:00 and 8:32,

whats the name of that song playing?

  • im a gameaddict when i was walking on one of my video games you can look behind you and i tried that when it was real life

  • wow...

  • Um... Okay. That's scary and extremely over-reactive. I don't see how any thinking human being can actually let a video game blur the line between reality and fantasy like that. "You'll think you can kill a man or snowboard wah"... This is a pathetic line. No person with a working brain can really come to that conclusion. It's stupid.

I mean, I personally am a gamer. Not sure if it's addiction or not, but seriously: "This is almost as beautiful as my games" will never happen. Sickening.

  • I get tired of these comments about this. I have a friend who is a video game addict, for the most part. He honestly does forget sometimes that there is a difference between a videogame and reality. Even I, after a hard core session of Gears Of War, begin to think that I too, am strong enough to cut someone in half with a chainsaw. After playing enough games, I really do think that life is like that. My IQ is roughly 135. Tell me, what do you think a 'working brain' is, exactly?

  • ...That's more than a little unsettling.

Um... Sorry if I offended you or your friend, but yeah... I dunno, I always thought such a thing just could not happen.

I've been a gamer since pretty much my birth, and I've had instances such as my mother trying to hide an N64 cartridge of Goldeneye because she thought I'd get the idea that I could go around shooting people for no reason from it, which at the time I found ridiculous, since it's just a game.

    ...Sorry, again.

  • Its a strange feeling, it really is. I'm not going to lie, it freaks me out too. After playing for hours and hours and hours into deep into the night, and into the morning, your brain doesn't function the same way it usually does. And while some people can differentiate that there is a difference, others sometimes have a hard time. Luckily, there hasn't been many recorded instances of people actually emulating the game and murdering people, because most people still recognize, not matter how far

  • gone you are in the game, that what is around you is still real.

Theres just a mental barrier that everyone has that cannot be broken down, and thats what keeps people sane.

  • cool video i likevideo games but tthey get boring to me so i dont have any problems lol

  • i have play games my whole live

  • i liked it

  • my first video game was when i was 7..

    i have played since...escapee 2006

  • game addicts = escapists

    btw great video

  • excellent!

  • i have gone 76 nights without sleep in 2008 alone and played 1543 i feel the same way

"no buttons to push no triggers to pull just me and the game....." great line

    i love my games....

  • life is becoming more and more fucked up

  • wow.

  • I have played 1027 hours on my computer since March 30th of last year. Is that a lot?.....

  • Dood, out of the 365 days that have passed since March 30th of last year, you have played video games for 42.79 of them. That's over a month of your whole life last year playing video games. You be the judge.

  • Not bad, but not great.

  • "I have fought in wars, feared for my own survival, watched my cohorts die on beaches and woods that look and feel more real than any textbook or any news story. "

This is a deeply profound statement...

  • sam bro...its messed up

  • it suks so much

    bt w.e

  • You should maybe go learn how to type real words. Then you can get a girl.

  • clever.

  • Im a addict to

  • Great stuff

  • wirod?

  • HIS LORDSHIP?

  • HIS LORDSHIP?

  • a really impressive video, thought-provoking, touching, powerful. Not only is it well made, the content is simply monumental. Video games and virtual reality is the future, the question is how are we to develop it.

  • Just when I was beginning to think I might soon let go of my own gaming addiction, this video comes out. Now I want to play games like crazy, crap........

  • Agreed, brilliant. A very thought provoking video for those of us brought up with games, and also poignant for those that do not understand all the hype around games.

  • Brilliant.
