  • amazing - son of FRIPP eh ?

  • Had to refavorite this. Don't know what happened to it?

  • Now, THIS is what I call music. Superb. Thanx a million for sharing.

  • Well played

  • 0:40 sounds like a canjo

  • cuál es el instrumento en 0:40?

what instrument is it on 0:40?

  • El instrumento en 0:40 es "el saz"

it's called the Saz, it's from the Middle East somewhere

  • ah mae gracias! thanks for replying

  • Looks like a bozoukee

  • there's not particular difference between a warr and a stick, so let's just stick to 'touch-style guitars' or 'tapping-guitars'

  • how about "big fuck-off guitars"? or like, "grand piano guitars"?

  • This is a bit crude (though powerful) for Trey and the band - check out their work on the 'Live Encounters' and 'Untune the Sky' albums. Might shed some light too on the debates below about the instruments etc...

  • Awesome, this is the kind of bands Id like to watch and listen more,, innovative in their music style and in their choice for instruments, two Warr guitars and a sitar!! wow!!,,, anybody knows what is the guy at the left using to play the Warr?

  • just to clarify....it's not a sitar, but a saz.

  • The guitar is called a "chapman stick". Combination guitar and bass but played like a piano.

  • Actually, those are Warr guitars. Sticks don't have a body (except for the NS/Sticks, but those don't have a head).

  • Warr guitars are exactly like sticks, but their bodies allow you to play them on your lap, horizontally.

  • he s playin' dombra,a turkish ancient instrument,ain't he?

  • actually you dumb ass they have quite a lot ancient but you probably do not know how to look at pictures or read

  • Does anyone know of the band in the late 60's and early 70's called Gunn I think Trey Gunn and he has a brother in the band. Also I think Pat Mastelotto was in the band too? someone Help me on this comment. I would love to hear from a YouTube nut ha ha.............gp473

  • Stunningly amazing.

  • new milenium music

  • that looks more like a sitar to me, and no not the indian instrument called a sitar, the persian sitar, they are different.

  • a sitar? where can u see a sitar here?

  • like i said "not the indian instrument called a sitar, the persian sitar, they are different" if youtube let us post links, i would link you, but you can look it up. the persian sitar looks exactly like what the guy sitting down is playing.

  • I thought their best song was the one where that chick did the titty show. . .

  • 2 Warr guitars? That's just insane

  • Insane man

    Love his music

  • PS - everyone "that guy" playing the Saz is Tony Geballe, a fellow crafty. :)

  • What type if Indian - looking intrument is that guy playing?

  • That guy is playing a Turkish instrument called a Saz, pronounced like the name of the song "sozzle".

  • not saz man that baglama:D

  • A baglama is a type of saz.

  • No! He is playin gon a Warr-guitar;)

  • Is that an e-bow he's using?

  • No! He is using a microphone

  • trey gunn... master of the warr guitar...

i love is not selection. not to mention his insane rythem.

  • Cool!

  • Trey Gunn...great musician

    CDC

  • Gauuuuuu!! trey gunn se paso, inspirador y maestro de cuerdas, digno de su instrumento, nota 10!!!

  • it's an electric razor that Trey is using

  • Oh shit, check out trey's runs at the last 30 seconds-ish...

  • Nice, dual Warr guitars!!

  • "What was that little device Trey Gunn was using for his strings?"

its an e-bow. pick one up.

  • ...it'sn not an actual e-bow. e-bow is battery powered, that device trey is using has a cable running from it

  • please...more

  • omfg

  • trye gunn is the best....wwwwwoooooow, and soooo good live. i love this guy

  • He is playing a saz... Turkish folk music instrument. An asik instrument. Asik means "in Love"...

  • What was that little device Trey Gunn was using for his strings?

  • i love this kind of stuff makes playing my rock music so much easier

  • i was told it creates feedback right on the strings.

  • That was fucking ill.

  • Using an electric razor for sustain and effect...I think. Sounds alot better than some pedals and rackmount effects I've heard.

  • Trey Gunn is a genius!

  • is that guy playing a shamisen? or is that some arab guitar

  • it's no shamisen. it's an instrument called "Saz", but it is very similar to the shamisen in the shape so I can the cause to confusion...

  • Great Video! I liked the Arab-Prog Mixture.
