this song of a young lonely girl. at the begining she is singing about nightingale, which calsl its family - 'tyokh-tyokh-tyokh' - those are its sounds. then she is singing about herself - she is standing near the great river Dounay (Danube) and listening her sweetheart is walking about and she is crying about her unanswered love.

thank you for clarifying this...I have asked many Russians, Lithuanians, and I believe a Ukranian...noone knows what it means and deny it is any of their languages. On the playlist it states it is a Russian folk song. Thank you..I love this and all of her songs and still want to know what it means.
