this is not a problem with the wheel this is meant to happen the ff is made to angle with the "grip" of the road so it varies depending on the game that your playing
ya same here i tried with the wireless mic it doesnt have that problem so if u get really annoyed then just buy one of those but i cant afford one right now so im just gonna stick with the crappy noise
This isn't meant to show the torque steer, I'm showing the fact that is this not level at the bottome of the wheel (tilted to the right). The other video's show the play in the wheel.
mine is the exact same man, fucking rediculis, i think they have tryed to hard on trying to get it to feel like ur driving a real car, than actually steering it, mine just turns its self whn it wants too
Mine is "off center" and when ever i drive my car will go to the left so i cant turn right to great but i always oversteer to the left... anyone know how to fix that?
it supposed to do that it acts like a real car if i want to turn right the car will want to kinda move in another direction so u have to turn it harder like a real car and yes a car wheel does center itself because of the moving forces if u have a car and it dosnt then that is a problem
I'm not holding the wheel to show how it is dipping to the right, the other problem with the wheel is that there is "play" causing the wheel to have a loose feeling
all the ppl slating you for this are idiots. i have one of these and it will centre. my frient bought one with this problem and exchanged it. the replacement was fine.
dude its the not the steering wheel its the car itself the mustang every mustang has i can't remember how much torque in it but it always drags off to the left... its the axle that gets bent from the torque
he should said the wheel is OFF CENTER. meaning when you point the wheel straight, the car turns slightly to one side or the other. I just got my wheel today. having the exact same problem.
I LOVED my Xbox steering wheel, the first few hours i had it when it actually fuctioned properly. the calibration gets worse every time i use it, its soo far beyond center and sad because it was the best wheel i ever used until this came up.. dosent seem to be any resolution to this problem either...
Ive had a bit of trouble with mine, sometimes it pulls hard to one side when im going down a streightaway, or it downshifts and pulls up the telemetry at random otherwise most of the time it works.
Nothing is wrong with your wheel, for some reason the microsoft wheel doesn't really center itself unless you are on a straight away. Probably because the force feedback is over reading the driving surface or some shit who knows?
The wheel is designed to not go back to the center when you let go. And it leans to the side because you are suppose to be holding it in the center. The wheel was designed to be realistic. I don't see any problem with it?!?
I hear what your saying and understand your point of view on this but it seems your taking one great old fact not into account here. Microsoft Products of any kind... Are Rushed-ly Made.
Meaning they are mass produced and made to sell in large numbers. Like many things of course. But in this case... there is always bound to be a few crappy wheels. But with that said... there is also a chance to get a really good one. Just complain to MS. And get it replaced.
@bigecanada if that was a fwd car id say it could be torque-steering but its a mustang so who knows? might be dips and bumps in the tracks from the game causing the front wheels to bounce a bit, forcing the wheel into a certain position
While you have no replacement yet, you should consider a Logitech Wheel. They more experience in making realistic feeling wheels. Microsoft may have experience in the Sidewinder controllers Logi, has had more wheel models.
@carsismeZ06 pretty sure a mustang is a pretty decent car for less than $10k. Camaro vs GT500 is a close match. Ever seen em head to head? Go watch it in person and see who wins. Corvette is in a class of its own, a class in which Ford has yet to design a car for. ZR1 vs Ford GT. Ford wins most of the competions. dont be so bias dick.
seriously, if you actually had your hands on it playing it there would be no need for it to return to center since you are always making steering corrections
Watch the other video's. The wheel is cheap! The wheel is attached loosely to the hub and I'm tired of accepting microsofts crap which is why I posted the vids.
i used to have your wheel. if you are looking for good high end wheel go for Fanatec 911 turbo S wheel for 360. its sold out but you can preorder for november shipment like i am. Fanatec got a permission from microsft.
Agreed-I am on my 4th 360...but my original Wii and PS3. Its to the point now where I even walk by the fuckin thing nice and slowly cause' I'm affraid the passing breeze may hit it and cause another god-forsaken RROD. I'm still a 360 fanboy, but this problem better be gone in the next generation microsoft console whenever that comes-cause if not, I'll be siding with sony exclusively. The PS3 is inferior to the 360, but I've only had to own one...and I don't cringe in fear everytime I turn it on.
You should realise, all of you, tht if you look at the wheel at the start of the video, it is NOT perfectly CENTERED. The wheel is at a slight angle to the right. If you look closley, you will notice this.
The steering wheel can be a little unpredictable, most likley the internal balancing ( centering ) unit.
even if it was supposed to center which im not sure becuase i dont have it yet im sure that will happen over time from game play and/or being a little to rough with it
my wheel is really "loose" like when i turn or something. when i first got it it was all stiffish and it turned perfectly but now its all wierd, loose.
Ok I just read the description and its not supposed to correct itself, its force feedback, it does what a car would really do,and does not spring back to the center
Lol thats not a problem. there was a few things i saw 1 the wheel moves it self becuase your in a high performance car with forcefeed back on the wheel.2 it wasnt very responsive the same as last prob high performance and sensativity to low.
I have the original xbox and thats about it. I don't even own a PS3 nor 360, can't afford it.

Im just kiddin lol :D everyone has their opinions.Besides i haven't even bought an xbox 360 wireless racing wheel,100 bucks? Not right now.Sorry bout that lol.
It's all about the gift shifter though,i mean without it looks to classic, but it's how they make it and ironnically microsoft is not a hardware company, though their doin good right now.Rrod is getting killed off and overheating fixed,as well as more better updates then lastime(really i didn't much like it.).But you gotta admit, the xbox 360 wireless racing wheel looks awesome. :)
I'm sure it is, but until i can afford it, i won't know completely on how good the wheel is. Too bad they don't have it out on display to demonstrate it on Forza 2 at games stores :(
To make it clear i was joking about that geezermeezer, but about the wheel comparison, well for design imo i have to say thats where microsoft shines,BUT for features both win, force feeback and shifters, but for added things i have to say logitech wins in that part because it has a 6 gear shift and i have to say that is amazing :)
your rumble isnt on dude. plug in the force feedback i noticed the light wasnt on dude. it will only re-zero is the motors have power running to them.
i dunno if youve realised but when your driving youre meant to have your hands on the wheel, that might help. stop winging, it aint that hard to turn a wheel
you know what the problem of your wheel is it centers to much the 360 wheel shouldn't center itself atall so your wheel problem is that your wheel centers itself lolol
I don't think it is made to be centered. I watched a video review about this wheel and it said it doesnt automatically center. (which can be annoying) and that it is made to be more realistic.
Guys mine is exactly the same and personally I think its plainly obvios whats wrong with this guys wheel, I thought it were just mine that was broke but it seems by this vid most are like this, Yeah its off centre, I mean ive gotten used to it but it should not be like this, My Logitech wheels arnt like this, Its just typical Wire " One " less wheels and Microsoft making rubbish. Logitech would make a killing joining up with Microsoft.
MEH! lol i've got a bigger problem with my steering wheel ... it's in center pos. BUT the car turns by itself.. when i plug in my controller it works ,,
dude if u look closly u dont have abs or tration on in the game so it will obusly be out of control it has noffing to do with the wheel because i have one and i drive all the time with all the traction off and the abs off and it is harder to control ;)
I cannot understand how a good stick could be turned to trash by putting it on the xbox!?! That stick is a PC Saitek X36 flight stick, which is still quite good by todays standards. but having the main stick as digital input is fucking retarted. WHY HAVE AN ANOLOG STICK ON THE THROTTLE? I really believe that Saitek had about 10,000 white shells sitting in a wherehouse for about 5 years and just retooled some parts and made xbox buttons for it and sold them to Kanomi. Whata fucking ripoff!!!
Before starting the race, try turning the wheel all the way to the right, then all the way to the left... that should calibrate it so it could judge the centre point.
no hes meaning wen hes goin straight if u look hard enough the steering whell is slightly angled to the side. this means wen uve been turning, uve been turning way to hard and forcd to far round
the wheel is not centering itself, xentro01, the force feedback tries to turn the wheel in the direction the wheels are facing, which is straight, but since it is not meant to be spot on center, thats why it looks like its broken, when really it is just slightly imprecise force feedback.
lol the power of the xbox 360 racing wheel is that it won't center it self it should stay on the place were you left it so your wheel has indeed got a problem it centers itself lol ha ha ha ha ha
lucky i want one but i dont have the cash and it tilts to the right beacuse of force feedback and its supoused to stay were u last put it thats a good thing

xentro01 3 years ago
I don't think it is made to be centered. I watched a video review about this wheel and it said it doesnt automatically center. (which can be annoying) and that it is made to be more realistic.

the wheel moves the same way as the cars wheels are, and when your turning it should feel like power steering
chomidore3 3 years ago
Guys mine is exactly the same and personally I think its plainly obvios whats wrong with this guys wheel, I thought it were just mine that was broke but it seems by this vid most are like this, Yeah its off centre, I mean ive gotten used to it but it should not be like this, My Logitech wheels arnt like this, Its just typical Wire " One " less wheels and Microsoft making rubbish. Logitech would make a killing joining up with Microsoft.

Whata fucking ripoff!!!

what is the problem
mohammadada 3 years ago
Before starting the race, try turning the wheel all the way to the right, then all the way to the left... that should calibrate it so it could judge the centre point.
javedahmed87 3 years ago
no hes meaning wen hes goin straight if u look hard enough the steering whell is slightly angled to the side. this means wen uve been turning, uve been turning way to hard and forcd to far round

WTF
ruthlessR 3 years ago
are they force feedback?
tiko0707 3 years ago
yeah
306741lock 3 years ago
the wheel is not centering itself, xentro01, the force feedback tries to turn the wheel in the direction the wheels are facing, which is straight, but since it is not meant to be spot on center, thats why it looks like its broken, when really it is just slightly imprecise force feedback.
cowmandaman7 3 years ago
lol the power of the xbox 360 racing wheel is that it won't center it self it should stay on the place were you left it so your wheel has indeed got a problem it centers itself lol ha ha ha ha ha
xentro01 3 years ago
dude
its supposed to stay where ever the wheels of the car are in the game
so if your turning it will stay turned
thats the point of force feedback
BrothersButler 3 years ago 4
You never put any effort in turning the whee. Race car drivers use both hands, they don't drive using their fingers!
You're an idiot.
