  • im thinking about picking this sub up for $180. what are your thoughts? do you still recommend it? its a 3yr old model. any issues?

  • @cadnyc - It's still kicking here...sounds great...no issues...I would recommend the newer version though. Smaller woofer and seems to sound a bit better to. But if wanna pick this one...go for it...well worth the money and you'll be happy!

  • that man on the tv looks like dr. magnusson from half life 2 ep 2 xD !!!!

  • I bought one at a garage sale yesterday for $10. It rocks my whole 16x22' living room. Best deal I've ever got!

  • nice man, i got two of the SW450 (the 10inch 450 watter) from best buy, 450 bucks a piece and i LOVE them! so damn loud and CLEAR! :P

  • I was trying to use it without a reciever. With my ipod.

  • How can i use the sub without speakers

  • @boliRULES - Have a LFE output on your Reciever. Most all new reciever have one. It's also known as a Sub output. What exactly are you trying to do?

  • i played that on my bass shakers and it wa shaking the hell out of me.

  • those klipsch bass are awsome i got one 10'' !!! nice and smooth bass

  • Hi there, I just got a sub same like yours. How good is the sub based from your experience and what settings do you to get the best performance?

  • It's a great sub for the price. It fills my 1100sqft apartment without any problems. I have my gain set about 1/2 way or a little less...and the crossover just a little bit from 0 so it fills in the mid to low bass...my best advice is to turn every dial down and start moving the gain up till you get a comfortable listening loudness, then try to match the crossover so that it blends in with your front speakers.

  • Thanx for the tips man. I just watched saving privated Ryan and MAN! It felt like I've never seen it before. My surround sounded more deeper and I could feel the bass. To bad I cant turn it really cuz its gonna wake up my kids.

    Thanx

  • whats the movie playing called

  • It is Matrix Revolutions..

  • awesome,thanks man.

  • damn. u got like every system -_-'

  • That I do, TV is gone, new Amp new front center and rear speakers...now just to get 2 more rears for 7.1...Still have the sub though!

  • got enough game systems? lol jeeze!

  • This is an old setup I had last year...and yeah we have every system that is out there....well atleast the newer ones. GF is a manager at GameStop...so you can guess she had to have every one of the systems.... :-)

  • That sub is terrible!!! Just Joking =P ... lol you got a good deal on that sub though. I am gonna go out on a limb and ask did you get that from circuit city? I actually got a boston accustic sub from circuit city for 1/2 off! lol it was the only one left to my knowledge. I have yet to even hear a klipsch speaker =(

  • Nope got this one from Best Buy, a company that knows how to stay in business. Funny thing at CC the sales guy told me this sub was brand new, like there new line and that the new stuff at BB was last years model...I just didn't have the heart to tell him that I already owned one. Go to BB and check one of them out...for the size and the power rating they sound awesome.

  • Yea, I like Best Buy too. I only went to circuit city to engorge on their awesome sales lol. I am still saving up for my supercube though. Have you seen the Velodyne Digital Drive 1812?? lol, I think its like $15,000. Man, Now that is too much bass for a house. I think that is ment for actual movie theatres. It has 6,000Watts of power lol. But that would be really neat to hear that sub.

  • This Subwoofer is Awsome!! The bass sounds very clearly, My whole apartment sounds like an EarthWake!!!

  • yeah its crazy....almost to powerful for it's own good. There is better, but for the avid user it does the job. Glad to hear you like your Sub-10.

  • the klipsch sub you heard is a low end klipsch try hearing the reference klipsch 12"sub digital ii have 1 and it shakes the room its like having parkinsons disease

  • yea i knock the clock off my wall with my sub 10 everytime i watch a movie. my neightors hate me lol (live in an apartment)

  • If you want to buy me one thats fine with me, I really don't need anything that good right now...the Sub 10 does the job...and is one of the best I have had ever...

  • I just got a Sub-12 haven't even hooked it up yet have to get a new receiver what can I look forward to?

  • Well the 12 to me is a bit to punchy...bigger isn't always better....But you should get great lows...the 10 hits really hard...if you have good speakers on your computer you can get the idea of what Im talking about....and that was at 1/2 volume on the sub...so emagine what 3/4 or all the way up would sound like...

There are better subs out there, but for the average HT enthusist this is more than enough....

  • shit nig u can look forward to repairing ur drywall

  • nice system nice everything but u rlly need to set it up all properly cuz too many wires and mess i would fix it up if i wore u!

  • Dude since I took this video everything has changed, except for the sub. New 46in HDTV etc. Read some of the comments below it explains most of what Ive done. I know I had wires everywhere....that was b4 I cleaned it up. It looks nice now!!

  • You should get hooked up with the entire Klipsch floorstanding system. Its pricey at around $4000 with a Denon AVR 989 receiver BUT SOOOO WORTH IT!!!

  • I actually went a different route than the total Klipsch Floorstanding system. I just recently bought a Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH and upgraded my (Theater in a box) system to All Infinity Primus Speakers. P362 Fronts, PC350 Center, and P142's for the rears. I don't have that kind of money to blow on the Klipsch Speakers, and I also live in a Apartment. I just need to find my camera so I can upload a video of the new setup. It fits my liking and Im happy with it. Thanks for the input though.

  • The AVR 989 doesn't even have Dolby True-HD or DTS-HD. How old is that Reciever? Denon makes great products but I was looking at something that would last me for quiet awhile, and the VSX-01TXH had everything and more that I wanted.

  • What movie were you playing in the video?

The sub that came with my home theater system blows...want something with some actual bass, and lots of it.

  • That was a clip from Matrix Revolutions on my old 27in Samsung HDTV (Tube). The setup I had in that video is long gone now, except for the subwoofer. I've upgrade to all New Infinity Primus speakers. P362 fronts, PC350 center, and P142's for the rears. I just recently upgrade my A/V Reciever to the Pioneer VSX-918V-K for the HDMI inputs. The Klipsch Sub-10 is a very nice sub, I can tell you there is better out there, but for $400 its gonna do the job.

Go check it out at Best Buy.

  • *Update* - I took back the VSX-918V-K and upgrade it to the VSX-1018 which has Dolby True-HD, and DTS-HD and adds another HDMI input. Cost be 3 bills but I figured it was worth it since this reciever should last me atleast 3-5 years!

  • dude i suggest u rent I AM legend and 300 on blue ray disc they r kick ass movies

  • Why rent when I already have them on Blu-Ray...yeah they are great movies on this setup. The Mustang in downtown scene is wicked. 300 is just unreal...but I'm more into some of the other movies with Dolby True-HD and DTS-HD...just seem to sound better...

  • 30 days of night is a dobly true hd movie, i've got it on blue ray

  • i think its a nice setup, Klipsch is the way to go ive never really heard bose but their way to expensive, but i think im gunna get a Klipsch set up like yours +1

  • Bose are nice speakers, for the space they take up, but yeah...to much for my blood. I now have the Infinity Setup cost about 700$ for all the speakers. You wont regret getting that sub, its worth every penny if you have a budget..If I had more money I would have gone with a better more powerful sub. I live in an Apartment so thats another reason!

  • I need suggestions for a powered sub my setup will include a 42" RCA HDTV a sony STRDG800 AVR, two front speakers techinics at 8 OHMS, @ 240 watts, A pioneer CENTER SPEAKER AT 8 OHMS AT 125 watts and 2 polk audio speakers for surrounds. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPERCAILTY THX

  • From what you typed it seems your on a budget. It's not the best idea to use odd speakers in a Theater setup. For instance, I have all Infinity Primus Speakers except for the sub, why you ask? Because they are built uniform to blend together in return making them sound uniform.

For your suggestions I would say this sub would do the job, but there are others like sony and polk that do good. Depending on your budget, get something that sounds good to you...go to the store and check it out

  • Get a Supercube Trinity lol.

  • If you want to give me $3000 then sure I will buy it..otherwise I will stick with my current sub...which is more than enough for me.

  • Nice sub. I have to put a cooling fan on my receiver just in case the fan that cools the amp section stops spinning because my particular model (RCA RT600) from 2003 is known for that problem. It hasnt happened but I will put a small mini box fan on top of it to blow in air just in case, It only cost me 160.00 used anyway but still.

I wish I had a big sub like that :D

  • believe it or not the sub inclosure isnt really that big. I have a old Cerwin-Vega 12inch Power Sub and that inclosure it huge..its front firing. Since its a used reciever, why not crack open the case and replace the fan?? You can probably find the fans at any local Computer shop. That way you dont have to worry about the box fan!

  • BTW it helps to have a gf that works at a game store :-)

  • Actually the Fan hasnt stopped working but I have heard of that particular model's fan to stop working causing it to overheat.

I don't really know if it the fan is just the problem or its some kind of chip that fails that causes it to stop but mine works fine so I guess i shouldnt be so paranoid. I still havent figured out how to get rid of that country music station that the receiver is preset to tune too. I like country music though. I have a seperate music system anyway. :D

  • sounds really nice.

BTW i like how you have every system LMAO :P

and umm how much you pay for it? ( the sub lol )

  • Well since that video I've upgraded some of my equipment. 46inch LCD, and All new surround sound speakers...I will do a video on that setup as soon as I can. I got the Sub at Best Buy on Black Friday, for half off...brand new $399 I think, I got it on sale for $249...

  • Does this subwoofer's bass get deep?

And can it go lound without distorting?

  • There are other subs out there that will hit better, but this one I can pretty much crank to 3/4 volume on the subwoofer itself, and not have distortion..Plus at that volume all the stuff on my walls starts to rattle, so depending on the size of room you think you might have, it will do the job...Go into Best Buy and listen to it, it's the 10inch version.

  • Thanks man, I might get this one...

  • ltrebl,

I have the same sub myself; most of the time, it's more of a thunderous bass, but, it hits pretty hard too depending on the song playing.

If you have a good amp, it won't disappoint you. Like ChrisHoyt said, go to Bestbuy and test it out.

But, yea, it's an awesome sub.

  • Thanks, i've tried it out at Best Buy, I REALLY love it. The bass gets really low, good for a 10" speaker...
