  • carbon fibre disc brake with ceramic coated carbon fiibre disc brakes with magnetic braking technology using eddy current clamp tech and pneumatic oil suspension

  • i want TGV to come up withcarbon fibre wheels and ad carbon fibre rails for more durability i like to work for altstom

  • WHY DOESN'T USA BUILD THESE?! Lots of ground to cover here, It would be a great way to go coast to coast.

  • Reminds me of the time I was standing on the platform at Slough and the bl**** train I wanted shot through without stopping.

  • in bosnia hi speed train going on 50 km/h

  • OMG Those spectators on bridge blasted to bits @ 6:14?! WTF

  • 3:33 BeastStrike

  • it's like f16 :p

  • Sounds like a jet going past near the end, excellent!

  • Super impressive but very scary . No need for laxatives after a trip on this train . Anyone know the normal speed for passenger journeys on this train ? . I assume this is merely a one off trial and normal journeys a lot slower . Speeds of this magnitude would certainly be great for travel but the thought of a crash is too horrendous to contemplate .

  • @SPARKY53100 I was thinking the same thing. That's a great engineering accomplishment but what if some terrorist decided to put a iron spike on the track at that speed I would think the train would derail with ease.

  • By

  • 41 people almost got hit by this train

  • Imagine what the doppler effect sounds like with this train

  • Maybe Amtrack should have high speed passenger trains at 500km/h.

  • TGV c'est sans doute le meilleur train du monde.

  • @MultiPolarius1

je d'accord pas. Le meilleur train du monde est ici dans etats-unis

  • @AnaMaghribi05

    Which one, if i may ask ?? : )

  • @AnaMaghribi05

Read the comment of srabchun and others here - your compatriots don't seem to agree with your opinion : )

  • @MultiPolarius1

haha. I was only kidding. Amtrak here goes no faster than like 80 mph which is the equivalent to 180km.

  • @AnaMaghribi05

    Clever of you !! hahaha !! : ))

  • @AnaMaghribi05 , 80 mph is equivalent to about 130 km/h. Oh, how much easier so many things in this world could be, if the developing countries implemented the SI system instead of their ridiculous ancient units... ;-)

  • @AnaMaghribi05 80mph is 130kph

  • I don't think cars and roads are a bad thing. They just need to be used more wisely. Cleaner emission standards and passenger requirements (there is no need for the traffic I see with each having one passenger inside) should be implemented to cut down on pollution and surburban sprawl.

  • to france? it was recorded by Alstom in Spain.

    What more blatant lie!

  • I remember riding on the channel tunnel eurostar doing 50mph in UK then blasting through french countryside at 175+mph smoothly.

  • Absolutely amazing, you see the people inside look like they don't even feel a thing - looks like a very comfortable ride.

  • @craigcrawford1988 it is. Of cause this train is a special version but even the "normal" verion runs with 320 km/h (200 mph) and you don't feel a shit. there are no typical train noises like the "ticking" when a wheel passes a weld. i have no clue what these french ingenieurs did but the tgv is way better the our german ice (german high speed train) which is supposed to be a "masterpeace of german engineering"

  • @XxXH3llfireXxX That's because there are no 'welds'. The rail is made in one piece...

  • I took an Amtrak train from Detroit to Chicago, it took 8hrs to go 280mi. This train could have got me there in 40min. Trains in the US are so pathetic!!!!!

  • @srabchun Americans are too dependable on the motor vehicle. Look at the auto industry compared to europe.

  • @BNSFDisneyZildjian We know that and it's not the American people that want to stay dependent on the motor vehicle. It's our government that keeps us that way. By not offering things like the TGV, it forces us to buy cars. If it was easy to just up and move to Europe, I would do it immediately.

  • @srabchun Plus, High Speed Rail with positively impact the environment well too. Less congested freeways. The term "traffic jam" will be a thing of the past. But yes like you said its the government that keeps it that way. :[

  • in case of derailment a 574 Km, for how many miles you spread the wreckage and the bodies?

How many countries could be affected?

  • @krowork1 seeing as France is a large country I'd say the number of countries affected would be... ONE.

  • Ich bin japaner. 東海道新幹線最終にTGVを走行させて欲しいなあ。東京大阪間でTGVに乗ってみたいものです。

  • The ordinary trains at France, with what speed travel?

  • 3:30 bug

  • no superhero could stop that

  • N We, The People In India Have Trains Running At 30 mph... :\

  • @cs021093 What do you expect....trains at speed of 300-400 ?? Is it possible at a place where thousands cross rails every hour and many die boz of this....or many poor, who just can afford rail will be able to travel in such trains...it won't happen in years...

  • So thats a mile every 10 seconds. Mind = Blown.

  • Can only use one pantograph because of ocilations created in overhead line, engines linked by wire between roof of carriages

  • Too bad there is nothing like this fantastic machine here in the USA. That team must have been very proud that day. I wish I could have seen it run myself. Great video. On rails at half the speed of an airliner, amazing.

  • MADRE DE DIOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It looks like only the rear pantograph is up. Was the train being pushed only by the rear locomotive? That's amazing.

  • @ApolloWasReal No, it is a multiple unit, eg each coach has motors on both axles linked by a HV bus bar, but the pantographs, transformers and control equipment are in the end cars. The rear panto is used for improved aerodynamic and contact efficiency, but both ends receive current via the roof mounted bus bar.

  • @soundseeker63 Thanks for the details. It's amazing to think that they were pumping about 25 MW through that one pantograph. It certainly did spark!

I do wonder why they didn't have redundant pantographs wired in parallel in case one loses contact with the wire. I have read that the wave induced in the wire by the pantograph was one of the main speed-limiting factors.

  • impressiv

  • Awesome

  • The statement 'You'll get here faster by train' loses all its meaning...

  • 40 dislikes? For what? no music, color of the train or because they can't understand french?

    Great video!

  • Love how it takes a jet to keep up with the pace :D Great video

  • Haha,if it hits a bug at that speed,it will go boom

  • imagin just the smallest rock on the rails!

  • Good thing nobody put a penny on the rails

  • @Jahoovenator the penny would either get completely flat by its velocity or get blown away already from its airpressure and the front. Its also what these skirts are designed for. To blow foreign objects out of the rails, before it hit the wheels.

  • ... you waited for 3 hours at the top of the bridge to see the train pass, and when the train is about to pass you happened to blink... and yes you missed the train... that how fast it is...

  • @bmgcomp Wat a noob that person was

  • the drivers on the right and left look exited! (08:17). amazing speed, it's like a rocket!

  • I would like to see Jeremy Clarkson beat this in a car.

  • why cant we have some in canada? france doesnt have enough land for that train lol

  • @hasenpfote272 don't think any train reach that far yet!

  • NEWSFLASH............US Vows Nuclear War against China

    youtube.com/watch?v=rHEduTRk2Lg

  • Looking at this train, the only thing I think that could be limiting its ultimate potential are the cable contacts. If they add a second cable contact they can cut the massive power arching in half and possibly send more power current to the motors they so desperately need! This train is awesome, I hope it reaches 400 mph soon. Go steel!

  • Technology like this infuriates Muslim Jihadis. They will surely bomb one of these trains or mess with the rails.

  • @banacek8675 real terrorsit is nato and usa why they atatck afghanistan. iraq and next iran afcourse we destroyed enemy!

  • @gamekiiid The same NATO and US who are currently trying to stop Quadafi from killing muslims? Pull your head out of your ass muhammed.

  • @gamekiiid lol save muslims? are you kidding me :D? why french and usa nato they know where is gadafi why they dont kill him? dont blieve this bullshit some afghan and arab take 4 plane and hit it WTC comon what a bullshit if you blieve !

  • Why don't we have them here in the U.S.?

  • Hope there were no bunnies on the track

  • that's one fast choo choo.

  • Good machine but our trains are also always reaching self word record but they arent speed records.

1.) Total crash records in same railway part.

2.) Word record at minimum speed crash (go off the rails 20km/h).

3.) Word record the most expensive of the worst trains project take.

    Greetings from Turkey

  • @mahmutta

Istanbuldan selem dostum. Dediğin kadar umutsuz olduğumuzdan haberim yoktu. :)

Greetings from Istanbul friend. I didn't know that we're that desperate :)

  • I think Turkey is good, what do you think about romania ?

    :))

  • @coffeshop89

i dont have enough about Romaina but can say that our governments choose to buy instead of investment in production. This is globally tech to make money exchange. And we allways have to buy after seen anyone who did more. Otherway if you wants to improve rail way your neighboring countries must have same standart railway infrastructure. Like France-Germany. So we use trains as an alternative to the bus, French use an alternative to the plane.

  • @EticSoft in romania, some lines, use train alternative to the bike :P, bus is too much. 30% from trains in romania, are from 1970

  • @mahmutta kendi ulkeni yabancilara sikayet etmekten utanmiyor musun? Allah seni kahretsin!

  • @erszebet ne şikayeti ?

  • @mahmutta gerizekalı ezik eğer türksen siktir git fransada yaşa türkiye dışında kaçtane ülkede gördün sen hızlı tren angut malmısın nesin kendi ülkeni küçümsüyorsan karaktersizsin daha iyisini yapta dünyaya omu göster uyuz kaşar seni :P

  • @mahmutta küfürden öte burda yabancılara yanlış bilgiler verip ülkeni kötü göstermeye çalışman çok iğreti verdi yurtdışına çıkıyosan bizene herkes çıkıyor bişimi oluyo yurtdışına çıkınca????11 ülkeyi gezeceğine çalış daha iyisini yap değer üret ultra kaşar!!!

  • @ultraturkishdelight

yavrum aşın artık bunları. En çok puan alan yorumdaki elemanda kendi ülkesindeki trenlerden şikayet etmiş. Dünyada biz Türklerden başka ülkesinin her bokunu körü körüne savunan insanlar kalmadı. Onlar eleştirdikçe biz değiştirmek için baskı kuruyoruz. "ultra kaşar" ı iade ediyorum "ultra" senin nikinde varmış :)

  • Those motors must be MASSIVE! The kind of horsepower it takes to get it moving like that...wow.

  • @Thepylot78

    About 35.000 hp

  • Amazing speed, great footage.

    Viva La France

    SNCF

  • at 9:48 is that the sound of the train or the sound of a chase plane following it?

  • @vietman90210 Both I think...

  • thats fucking faster than aeroplane

  • In the US the corporations are busy filling up their pockets, drown world financial systems while at it, and then they get trillions of dollars in bailouts from a government they bitch about. The American people are like a milked cow who never complain, confused and turn on each other when push comes to shove. That is America for you. The land of the plenty, Right!!!!!!!

  • I like trains...

  • just imagine if that thing fell of track..

  • What a beautiful machine!

In the US our trains top out around 70mph, that's it. Our corrupt government just wastes all our tax money on God knows what, instead of helping build something useful like this.

  • @zenmachinefilms generally it is not problem when it is slow but if it is still diesel powered its waste of money and environment

  • @zenmachinefilms

This may be a reality some day now that Obama is really pushing for a high speed rail system here in the U.S.

  • @zenmachinefilms It is really useful. I was shocked to see how easy it was to get from place to place. Always on time and well used. Such a comfortable way to travel. I have ridden the TGV the Bullet train in Japan. They are both great. The TGV however has a bar, with nice wine and fine cheese to enjoy, while speeding through the countryside at 400 klicks. It is marvalous

  • @zenmachinefilms lol its just a train bro...

  • @zenmachinefilms

    hmmmm.... I wonder...

im not too sure but yeppp i think ive got it war?

  • @zenmachinefilms There is no way "big oil" would want trains like this on US soil. More people would rather choose this than a road trip.

  • @zenmachinefilms

Ours aren't much better in Canada. VIA Rail is allowed 99 mph max is some areas.

  • @zenmachinefilms Exactly, they waste money on GOD (religious bullshit).

  • @zenmachinefilms we dont need high speed trains, amazing invention called aircraft and they go a hell of a lot faster than 350mph...

  • @aggiespilot at 574 Kph we are almost at 75% of jet liner speed (700 kph) , plus you add the security check and baggage check and driving to and from airport this train will be faster, Say in France Paris to Marseilles in this train would take 1.5 hrs a flight would take the same time, but the real advantage is planes cannot run on electricity they have to burn fossil fuels and pollute the environment.

  • @bodhiganguly Still not as fast. The reason high speed trains work in the EU is cause, for the most part, everything is centralized. That's why you see lots of Amtrak in the east and not out west, because for the most part, everyone is going to the same area. And your fossil fuel thing is invalid, Electricity isn't run on unicorn farts, you have to burn FOSSIL FUELS to make it. Therefore your argument over the burning of fossil fuels is irrelevant.

  • @zenmachinefilms geez you should see the trains here in victoria and new south wales, in australia. they re gauged the track and new concrete sleepers. and now they get mud holes. trains havent ran properly for ages. trains run slow they talk of a fast train service but they cant even get this right. some drivers even go down to 60 km at the bad stages of the track.

  • Too bad we dont have a good rail service like that in the United States!

  • O mais divertido é a cara dos tiozão

  • 日本の新幹線の方が早い。

  • W A HOOOOOOOOO ! ! ! !

  • YEAH!!! HELL YEAH! Need for speed!

  • Mach 0.5 is an impressive speed for a normal train. Ok they did some "little" modifications -_-

  • if its from France the Germans must have built the damn thing.

  • @cdb1972 why ? France has awesome technologies why Germany ?

  • And the point of this exercise was???? To see how many miles of overhead wire the pantograph has totally fucked or just to blow some dust from the rails?

  • @simonmalexander

    Are you stupid?

  • @simonmalexander asslicker you are

  • i macchinisti si stavano cagando sotto...guardate le facce!

  • Weve seen many cases where animals get on tracks. This would pulvarize the animal instantly, but would it cause any damage to the front of the train depending on the animal? Also see that these tracks are built away from forrest or trees, which is obvious, due to falling trees that happen on tracks all the time. Ive seen big locomotive push the tree out of the way, but what would happen if this hit a 2 foot diameter tree trunk at those speeds? Whats to stop terrorism from happening on these?

  • @dfl4701 the french dont piss anyone off so they dont get bombed

  • These things seem great but unless they have a locking mechanism keeping them from flying off the track at any given problem, I don't want to be on one. The tracks would have to constantly be watched for acts of terrorism. Furthermore, the cost on them would have to be outrageous since they cannot cross any streets.

  • Bad ass cameraman to be able to keep it in focus.

  • what an impressive railroad system :O :)!!!!

  • Shame the British can't do such speed like the great TGV. Still Britain has a better rail system than the US, I can imagine.

  • The Concorde is back... only on rails.

  • めちゃくちゃ速い!!

    日本じゃ考えられないですね( ;∀;)

    こっちは最速時速300キロなんで。

  • maybe because the railway system in France is public, so when they decide to open a new line, it's easier than in the states.

moreover the regular cruising speed is "only" around 300km/h so for long distances like Denver-NY it's still a very long travel, while by plane it's much more faster.

our countries are smaller, so there is no real point to wait an hour at the airport on departure and arrival in France when you can just jump in a train and buy the ticket on board.

  • man fuckin americans better do something we getting behinde everybody ....even we dont have a indoor snowboarding ahahahaa

  • @Texanul1 me too i don't understand why america does not have high speed trains. it is such a vast country... in Europe every main country has a network of high speed trains (France, Germany, Spain,...) and even continentail high speed trains (Eurostar, Thalys) so... why does america does not spend money to a sustainable transport?

  • @jodonalds because america is corrupted due the oil bussines

  • @jodonalds It is BECAUSE it is a vast country - you mentioned france germany and spain. The largest of those - France - is 15 times smaller than the States... You think SNCF trains go fast - have you ever heard of a 747? Triple the cruising speed of these trains...

  • @harkengear yes indeed it is a vast country well let's say 4000 km. well from the north of Germany, you can travell to the south of Spain around 3500km... so what is the difference? Trains are so much easier than airplanes, where you have to be houres before the plane takes of. a train... just 15 minutes before departure, or even less...

  • @Texanul1

Why do we need that when i can go to Tahoe or the sierras

  • 9:56 Chuck Norris would hop on it and ride it!

  • Bug hits the screen at 3:33 lol :3

  • my car is faster 0 to 100 km in 37sec

  • ARREPIANTE.574Kmph, de adrenalina pura. VIDEO FANTASTIC.

  • wow that's fast, it's fastere thene airplane lol

  • it's so funny at 4:37

  • I have a dream - to make a steam locomotive running that fast! : )

  • This was an incredible achievement by the French. Going at that speed on normal rails !!!

  • They left out the part where a cow wandered onto the tracks.

  • just love 08:32

  • sweet

  • Fuck off Bugatti Veyron :D

  • its french not canadian lol

  • 1000th comment :D

  • My favorite shot is at 9:43

mon plan préféré est à 9:43

  • They passed 88 and nothing happened...I guess the electric wires didn't supply 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity.

  • is this a canadian train(bombardier train)

  • @harrisonconstantinou no it's french

  • @xradio86 well it is very close to bombarbier trains like the ice in train between amsterdam, netherlands and germany.

  • @harrisonconstantinou NOP this is pure Europe!!

  • Well done....pls make for pakistan like this train

  • it is electric traction record. For diesel powered engines the world record - 271 km/h, and this record hasn't been beaten since 1993 and russia stil holding record for this.

  • Hopefully there will eventually be a large rail from UK to America etc going at speeds like this...pretty scary though

  • This was an enormous achievement by the French. Doing this speed with wheels on normal rail was amazingly brave. This conventional rail speed record is the most important.

  • The cameras break up it travels that fast. I have to say "Bravo! Honneur à votre nation!"

  • Wow, even at 550kph the guys in the cabin just looked so comfortable!

  • 32,800volts @ 900 amps of energy consumption at top speed...

  • Impressive

  • public trains in Europe and Japan are superb, but anyone has ever thought about the cost of that super-smooth railway?

  • 356mph! In England we are lucky if they get over 60, and that's not a joke!

  • @daddyschlong14 lol mate sounds like australia too

  • @daddyschlong14 I think Potter's Bar, Great Heck, Hatfield, Paddington, Southall, Cowden, Clapham Junction are the reason we don't go fast. Also the French have NO vandals or hooligans or ill mannered youths ruining their line in their country, they are very lucky.

  • @daddyschlong14 long live france

  • @daddyschlong14 Tell me more.... I'm from Poland....

  • @daddyschlong14 in Slovenia we get about 40 mph :)

  • NICE VIDEO

  • i see 574,7:D

  • Danke für das Video.

Aber der Kokfuehrer sitzt da, als haette er sich in die Hose gemacht ;-)
