  • That's why I love lake effect snow events. They are so unique and much more interesting than snows that originate in stratiform clouds.

  • I try to explain the concept of "Thundersnow" to people and I just get funny looks.

  • Yep, that's =what's commonly seen with convective snows, because the supercooled droplets in the clouds form a thin layer of refrozen liquid over the ice crystal.

    It's just a step above sleet.
