What a powerful scene. The facial expressions, the storytelling, the complex turn of events...wow. I've only seen this whole movie once, but I remember loving it!
This part fo the movie proves how the prison business in the USA has made its profit off the backs of those who were wrongfully convicted for crimes they did not commit.
Honestly, I think that's the only way it could've been a little bit better. Brad Pitt has an excellent track record. Especially around that point in time...SE7EN, Fight Club, Seven Years in Tibet, Meet Joe Black...I still consider Shawshank Redemption the perfect film...
@KhasarDeTemplari According to the law of censorship, we should say crap. But not shit. He wakes up... and gives me crap. Because The Shawshank Redemption with network television premiere on that CBS Movie version without strong language. Because it would be trouble.
@madison52697 That's good! That means he did a good job as an actor! I remembered this scene and I always was surprised he didn't get big. Maybe he did but I haven't heard about him.

They originally wanted Brad Pitt for the role of Tommy. He was tied up with Legends of The Fall.
