Graham is the one playing the sheriff. He's played a lot of supporting roles in the movies, on TV, and cable. Do you remember the Seinfeld episode when Crazy Joe Divola's staliking Jerry and Elaine, and goes to the opera dressed as a clown. The guy playing the OTHER clown who rants at Jerry, thereby causing Jerry to remark "That is one angry clown", is Gerrit Graham.
Hilarious! The general public didn't really seem to understand inflation so much back then though. Now we know retailers raising prices isn't inflation, it's increase in supply and decrease in value of the money, since the gov prints way to much!
Probably the #1, most gutt-bustingly funny movie ever. This scene, and the "Tobey Test-drive" scene, have kept my wife & I in tearful stitches everytime we see them. This movie is a classic.
@hagler1909 This may be the flat out funniest movie I've ever seen, and as you said hagler, this scene is right up at the top of the funniest scenes, there are so many in this movie it's hard to pick one. The Tobey scene was another one, also where Jack Warden talks about how "this country's gone to the dogs", the scene where the guy says "fifty dollars never killed anybody", the entire movie, it's just one gut-buster after another.
hi, glad everybody likes me ;-)
