Are you guys serious? Ghds are a complete waste of money. They have no heat settings, and they do exactly the same job as cheaper hair straighteners. Those who think that their hair isn't getting damaged from ghds are lying to themselves. It reminds me of those Power Balance bracelets - idiots thinking it actually improves performance. Silly.
Also, the ghds adjusting the heat automatically is an outrageous claim. Even the company itself has not claimed it has this function.
GHD's are so much better in the uk they range from £100-£150, I first bought the purple ones with a pattern which was only out for Christmas and they were great but they broke. I borrowed a friends pare and they were fake and you can really tell the difference but ghd were very kind and they sent me a brand new pair and because they cost less than my other pare they gave me heart protecter from there line. I love ghd but I've never tried chi!xoxox

That's a fake Chi iron because the heat meter is digital and on the outside of the handel. It should also say Farrok or something like that on the handle, I'm just saying
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.

i dont think your chi is fake i think its just the model. since it is less expensive then some of the others i think that has a lot to do with the cons. almost all of the cons you mentioned my chi does so if you ever want to invest into a different straightener i highly reccomendd getting a chi i have an ultra chi and i love it ! it heats up in less then 60 seconds. thats not faster then a ghd but for $140 less i can live (: love your videos !

Yeah the CHI 2" Turbo is the best flat iron I have used so far better than my T3 1 1/4" Wet /Dry but I am looking to upgrade to a GHD...Even though a CHI says it heats quick & I use the highest setting 365 I still have to wait 15 mins for it to get hot enough to work on my hair so I just plug it in while I'm blow drying & getting dressed...

@glamourista16 Hate to break it to you, but all of the CHI's I have seen have a slight curvature to the handle for handling..........I can't see it well but it looks like yours is flat......and none of the CHI's that I have ever used take so long to heat up. i have a Cortex flatiron, it cost between $70-80, and it does it all. you can change the temperature setting, it goes up to 410, swivel cord and everything. and its been almost a year and its still going strong. but i hope that one lasts awhile for you because it was alot!. =]]
I absolutely hated my Chi. Both of mine broke within a year the exact same way - the cord at the end of the straightener would swivel around and every time it moved it would turn on/off. BUT if you call customer service even after your 1 yr is up they'll replace it for $35 if its a manufacture error. I got the Chi hair straightening system done to my hair and it completely ruined it - my hair was probably the same length as yours CURLY and it broke off past my shoulders.
@dangitjess Ahh that is terrible! I can relate to you with the cord as well! My pink chi, every time I would swivel it to curl my hair the cord would bunch up and I'd have to rotate it the opposite way to undo it. Very frustrating! For some reason the black ones cord doesn't do that so I liked this one better!

i have a Cortex flatiron, it cost between $70-80, and it does it all. you can change the temperature setting, it goes up to 410, swivel cord and everything. and its been almost a year and its still going strong. but i hope that one lasts awhile for you because it was alot!. =]]

I absolutely hated my Chi. Both of mine broke within a year the exact same way - the cord at the end of the straightener would swivel around and every time it moved it would turn on/off. BUT if you call customer service even after your 1 yr is up they'll replace it for $35 if its a manufacture error. I got the Chi hair straightening system done to my hair and it completely ruined it - my hair was probably the same length as yours CURLY and it broke off past my shoulders.

@dangitjess Ahh that is terrible! I can relate to you with the cord as well! My pink chi, every time I would swivel it to curl my hair the cord would bunch up and I'd have to rotate it the opposite way to undo it. Very frustrating! For some reason the black ones cord doesn't do that so I liked this one better!
