i don't like too many prog metal bands...too pretentious with the jazz and crap and without the melodic chops to back it up..... Anubis Gate has the pretention too, but some of the finest melodies around and a good ability to know when to get heavy and when to get soft....definitely an amazing band.

i remember a while back when metal used to always be on tv, equally if not more than other stuff. I havnt seen a metal vid on TV in New Zealand for over a year now. Its sad how deformed some peoples taste in music is getting. Although i have a strong feeling metal is coming back, cuz alot of bands are making it high on music charts, with some cool new bands and artists. BUY METAL ALBUMS!!!

I LOVE Anubis Gate.. and I LOVE that they're unknown. It makes it more interesting when you know bands that no one else does. Makes you feel more well rounded with the music you listen to, rather than knowing all of the radio songs that everyone else listens to. Real music, with feeling, usually comes from bands that are unknown anyway. They play to play the music, not to really become popular. I love that.

I have to agree with LieutenantFish. Let's have more relevant comments. Although, with the way "gay" is used ("I can't believe you did that to me, that's so gay!" etc) it has come to be a sort of slang word for bad/uncool/unacceptable. Personally I find it offensive, and think it shows poor imagination and vocabulary on the part of the speaker, but such is slang. Now, can we talk about the music instead of unrelated political and grammatical issues?

I know this argument is as old as speech, but if someone began using your name to mean something negative all the time, you'd probably be upset about it. It's pretty usual for people who haven't listened to prog music too much. Though past a point you get to like albums like this even on the first listen... sometimes. But more importantly, you learn to have the patience to listen to an album enough to tell if it's good or not.

True, they do have different styles. I am mostly comparing their overall talents by my perceptions. In addition to singing (and growling in Invocator) fantastically, Jacob Hansen is also a versatile, high-quality producer and more-than-competent guitarist (neither of which I can say about Ville Vallo). My additional preference of Mr. Hansen's voice above Mr. Vallo explains the numerous > signs ;)
