  • What the hell? People seem to think the best things are made to be the lowest talent. It doesn't work that way, you can't force everything into everything to be made the very smallest you can, be big, and stop thinking the best is the most negative all the time.

  • Cynicism ain't a sickness but a remedy, though not one-philosophy-fits-all. For we can all die for what we're proud of, be it we live our entire lives for what makes us proud. But life-wise, of all the worth there is I say the anti-money sage is good, for I truly am in favour of the Dalai Lama in politics. Too bad ignorant people, the would-be take-overs of the world especially are no comparison. Too good Lama's no comparison, who's in favour of this peace-maker?

This is the youtube we should have.

  • Abject cynicism and a sense of fatigue and despair with society and the world are a great sickness in western culture, possibly worldwide I don't know. When I feel it myself I try to remember those people in concentration camps during the second world war who somehow were able to be hopeful, and somehow in some rare cases even compassionate for their captors. To be able to find those emotions in that situation, as dark as any imaginable, is simply stunning and very humbling.

  • @reluctable You're a good person, reluctable, as Buddhist or as you're not Buddhist, Dalai Lama shares his insight to the western world. If you saw any cynic in America there are so many people who say the cynic lifestyle is beautiful, after all it's a philosophy of Antisthenes, and is any alternative to pleasure, to value only virtue, and abstinence (of eating/alcohol) is a good stand, I'm a man and can afford to fast to clean my spirit, I was once a cynic.

  • @Hoobifta Uhm, well I appreciate the kind sentiments, but believe it or not when I said 'cynicism' I was in fact referring to the common, modern meaning of the word, i.e. 'An attitude of scornful or jaded negativity, especially a general distrust of the integrity or professed motives of others', as opposed to a school of ancient Greek philosophy which would really have made very little sense in the context of my comment... Wasn't that really kind of obvious?

  • @reluctable Good, great, optimism is hard to expand.

  • 没有中文字幕啊·······怨念,英语又不好····听不懂啊

  • from your students, I would to say this. Nothing can repudiate perfect logic.

  • At this moment, I am facing some adversities and it is through hearing your words, that I am finding the answer to my problems. After all, if i can solve them just as well. if not "why worry"!

  • Thank you! Om mani padme hum.

  • Thank you sir!

    :)

  • 3:56 Oh this chappy does like a laugh doesn't he :')

  • Have love and peace in your heart and you can share love and peace with others. This world has forgotten the importance of a peaceful life. The universe is vast and has many open spaces to explore.

  • @multisunflower69 The universe is vast? Dude, SERIOUSLY?

  • @Psychonaut1992 Through my science and Anaximander's doctrine I'm convinced the Universe is without end, you can travel in space and never return to earth just by travelling in one long line. It has to be that way to discover other worlds beyond, and any thorough explanation of a world beyond living possibly can explain how distant the Universe can be. Am I the only one without confusion but admitting that the Universe is vast (it's a fact)? And am I the only one with such accurate description?

  • @Hoobifta The way I see it, it's mostly irrelevant to humankind whether or not the universe is infinite. At least from our perspective it's essentially endless anyway. I think the important thing is that it's expanding in all directions, which is a key element of the big bang theory. I'm not quite following your second point, though; how can you with certainty say you are without confusion? Your description is accurate compared to what exactly?

  • Just remnember to have grit in each bad time and enjoyment in each good, since before you know it, it will be over.

  • my god is always great & it will remain great allways

  • Calm your mind and the drama will transform into an opportunity to transcend. Let go of the dollar bill and you will be inundated with wisdom and all of the abundant accoutremenst that go with it. Liberate your mind and and the pieces of the puzzle will become one thing....PEACE. :)

  • Oh how I love the Dalai Lama.

  • Thank You very much indeed. Saved in my heart & brain to my possible grandchildren.....

  • Nice. These three words: "Can I help?" are just as powerful as the better-known group of three words: I love you.

  • very nice

  • HH the Dalai Lama mixes a sense of humor with language that even I can understand. I am not Buddhist, but I love him. May you live long and teach longer, HH.
