@QueenoftheNinjaElves well i disagree because i can sing this song quite easily and it sounds a bit rushed in this recording because my accompanist had not practiced with a soloist before just choir and don't be calling my voice teacher a crackpot its quite disrespectful and she has won international awards thanks =)
@QueenoftheNinjaElves this teacher is most definitely going to end up ruining her voice -- wow did i reply to a comment of yours on another one of these videos?
During this time period composers would write music with runs like this song, with the intention that people would not sing them in one breath. If you look at the phrase markings that Handel wrote one can see that in those runs he has divided them into phrases.
George Friderich Handel would smile at the beauty you brought to the performance at a very tender age. A talent to be nurtured. May God bless you and your efforts.
I AM 14 AND AM DOING THIS SONG FOR STATE!! It is sooo hard to fins a song that is age appropriate that will still be compeditive agenst all the seniors that can choose older music. i do love this song. Its hard=] I like a good challenge.
@fettuciniandalfredo i agree challenging songs are good to learn so you can get better and become a more professional sounding singer. easy songs do nothing for you
im 16 and im just learning this song. so i understand the difficulty! lol. you did verryy well!!
i dont want to seem dumb lol.. but the only thing i would change is the way you pronounce your "r"s. and be careful with the way you present your voice.. maybe more from your chest? idk lol.. sorry if i seem like an idiot. you did VERY well.
You do quite well on the runs, especially for your age, but you need to be careful with your vows, like rejoice, lyre, especially with sounds in the beginning, that was very very spread. I'm doing this song right now, and I'm 20, I can't imagine me doing this at 14. Good job :)
it is called Oh Had I Jubal's Lyre not Had I Jubal's Lyre

Much too young to sing this song. Start off with easier art songs.

I can see the potential. The voice may not be so developped , BUT she' headed for virtuosity, that's for sure.
