Both this video and version of the song you are hearing, were what we heard on the radio in the mid to later 80's. It went to the top 10 at that time.

Despite the difference in his voice, this concert is one of my favorite Elton John performances ever. Perhaps he was so passionate because of the fear that after his throat surgery, he may never be able to sing again. The orchestra is a great addition. I saw him at Radio City in 2004 with the orchestra. It was awesome!

I used to run to this song in the morning as I was losing weight for wrestling. I used to hear Elton John's voice and piano refrain as I saw the sun come up over the hill as I was running. I was just a kid, and had all those emotions and ambitions wrapped up inside myself still. It was a precious time I will never forget.
