  • 3 turns on the oil filter?? Thats about 1.5 turns to many. And you change the filter EVERY time. This is a really shitty how to.

  • You should change the filter every time.

  • Why is he using a paint tray for a oil pan?

  • @ 1:11 You are going to need a monkey wrench...

  • I am strong enough so I shall use my bare hands lol

    That point was funny man

  • casually winking at the camera at 5:05

  • thanks man! exactly my bike too :)

  • 1 more tip for u ... dont start your bike with the head lights on ..

  • he sounds & looks like jim carey in the cable guy.

  • Nice demonstration; the only thing I'd like to have seen is changing the oil filter.

  • @opmike343 No I'm not a mechanic, and I don't have a hydraulic lift for my bike, but I do have $8 to go buy an oil pan... if you're going to do it yourself you're probably going to be doing it more than once, so make the investment, that's all I'm sayin'... an oil wrench and pan are reasonable things for ANY man to have if they change their own oil.

  • i changed the oil in my bike but the oil light comes on and the bike wont start i dont understand whats up with it can someone help me out?

  • who cares if its a paintpan i dont have an oil pan ill probably end up using a pot haha!

  • wow... this guy is using a paint pan?... Why aren't mechanics making these kinds of videos?

  • @athleticace24

Are you a mechanic? Do you have a fully equipped custom garage to do all of your vehicle repairs and maintenance? Do you have a subsidized contract with Snap-On? Come on dude, he's using what most people are going to have at their disposal. You need something to trap the oil, that's it. He's not fabricating a control arm from carbon fiber composite.

  • Oh... I totally thought you needed the bike on the center stand. Hmm.

  • thanks lispy!

  • get the dust out of your eye :p

  • change filter every time you change oil, filter costs 7 bucks, splinters in old filter can cost much more.use synthetic oil because its designed to run at higher rpm, also better for the clutch, incorrect oil will slip your clutch, you didnt replace the drain plug seal, costs pennies, you didnt notice that after replacing the filter you must put new oil on the filter oring \ seal, tightening the oil filter by hand. also failed to mention torque wrench specs on the drain plug, cases have cracked

  • Very nice vidio awesome

  • Very nice vidio awesome

  • Very nice vidio awesome

  • hey Rationalist 44-- if you noticed the bike is still tilted back so the video camera can show you the level --- if you were SMART you would see that and grasp that if the bike was upright it would be at the F mark -- :) YOu prob should not be on the road if you don;t know how to analyze things

  • how much oil did you putt in to that bike and how much oil do you need for a 125cc 4stroke bike

  • @OneCrazyFinnGamer vaihoin just tänää husse öljyt, laitoin joku 750ml :P

  • did he reused the old oil?

  • You didnt show how to change the oil filter. I need to know how much can i tight it so i dont overtight it.

  • good to see an informative video

  • Thanks you duds

  • i got my motorcycle second hand and the previous owner didn't tell me when he last changed it, how do i tell when to change it? is it purely down to the level on the dipstick? or can color and age mean a new oil change?

  • @lolzords234 dont risk it. get a oil change right away. better spending tho money on clean oil then running bad oil in your bike

  • @lolzords234 Well this guy said to change the oil every 4,000 miles, so check how many miles your bike has and you can probably estimate when to change the oil, considering the last owner changed it every 4,000

For example, if it has 9,000 miles on it, he might have changed it already and you won't need to change it till 12,000

That's just my opinion, if you want to be safe, just change the oil.

  • how often would u recommend to change the oil filter AND the oil?

  • What bike is that?

  • Why is this guy winking at me throughout the video? LOL

  • @Rationalist411 Take heart. He thinks you're a cute Youtuber.

  • @Rationalist411 you just ruined this video for me. thanks

  • @Rationalist411 great lol now thats all i payed attention to while he was talkin lol

  • Great vid

  • guys do we switch gears with the gas pedal or we release the gas pedal then we move

  • @sa3ood13

    Gas pedal....?

    :)

  • So when you put the oil in and start the bike up. I seen you holding the clutch. Now what gear do you put the bike in; is it first or Nuetral?

  • @305Alpha it doesnt matter. I always have a habit of holding the clutch in whenever i start my bike.

  • @305Alpha

Suzukis have have whats called a starter interlock switch that wont let the bike start without the clutch being pulled in. But i wouldnt recommend starting the bike in gear.

  • thanks men now i know how to do the oil change easy!!

  • GO CANADA!!! WOOOOO

  • @hootini88 Thats y America has the second highest rate of intelligent citizens. Number 1 being Canada. And America doesnt have a proper Modern Civilization...We have the Biggest and msot cities in the world..We have the largest Economy that runs the world...Dude America Runs the earth With USA There would be MAJOR changes to the map

  • @SKITTLESQUADFTW inferiority complex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! usa is rubbish. i know that, you know that, everyone knows that. it doesn't matter what bullshit you write here, lets the facts speak for themselves.

  • @hootini88 U havnt even mentioned what country your from....Ashamed?

  • @SKITTLESQUADFTW its because of imigrants that the US prospers

  • @SKITTLESQUADFTW now, how u can see, most things i use in my daily life were invented here, in Europe, and often sold to states, for money coming from killing milions of innocent people ( native americans, ever heard? ). the only thing that usa bring to world is misery, death and stupidity.

  • @hootini88 lol your such a dumbass...Nothing worthwhile was invtented in Europe...TelePhone Computers INTERNET Light Bulb Assembly Line First production car...dude go back to gradeschool

  • @SKITTLESQUADFTW well, lightbulb was such an invention, more important than a car indeed :):):) LOL. Telephone was invented by italian Maucci you moron, first computer built by Konrad Zuse from Germany. Almost everything necessary for modern life in civilized countries was first invented in Europe. What do they teach you over there? no wonder whole world treats you like idiots. again, i am really sorry for you. it will be better for you to just shut up.

  • @hootini88 telephone was given credit to many inventors 8/10 were in America...idiot...the Computer that became a household neccesity was invented in America..And really dude nothing good came out of Europe..You FAIL =p

  • @SKITTLESQUADFTW knew, not new, first of all ;).well, that is american history, the same americans that wanted to go into a deal with Germany, UK and Russia to share Europe between them. I am from Europe, I am from Poland so i got all information about World Ward first hand, how is this? I am using PC that was invented in usa, tru, but also using a car invented in Germany, radio invented by serbian guy, tv patented by polish Jan Szczepanik, taking plane first built by french Clement Ader etc

  • @hootini88 lol Youtube comment list dones not lie...And America has achieved waaay more then your country infaact i bet your economy is centered around Tourist from America...lol

  • @SKITTLESQUADFTW achieved? stolen you mean. no one in Europe cares about american tourists especially that they steal towels and bathrobes from hotels rooms and don't want to pay for anything as they think everything is included in their travel price. and yes, they well known for being fat , rude and stupid

  • @hootini88 Seems like that good old European education system is kicking in there...Saying USA is bad lol...Without US there wouldnt be a Europe Dumb ass..And Every 1 steals towls!

  • @SKITTLESQUADFTW hahahaha, there wouldn't be Nazi Germans without usa, that is the truth. We were lucky Hitler wanted everything and Soviets smashed his army. There wouldn't be usa without Europe. and u see, you even think everyone steals towels, you are so pathetic that i now even feel sorry for you. maybe you too should come to Europe, trust me, few week of conversation with us, smart people, and your brain will grow up, not back as u don't have one yet

  • Fuck you hootini88 AMERICA RULES

  • what if my bike has oil but not enough to start it to get it hot. what could i do?

  • @Thugnificent808 start with leaving your country and come to europe for few months. that will make your brain grow back. than you will now. otherwise, sell your bike and buy the one that has enough oil to get it hot and than change it. let me know which one helped better

  • @hootini88 Make your brain grow back and you say now...instead of Know...lol.....

  • @orig you are so mistaken. If you own a motorcycle then please buy your clutches from me. But other wise... Yes syn are the same.

  • Home depot plastic paint pan + hot oil = bad IDEA

  • What? You callin me a whimp because I can't you my hand to remove the filter??

  • Maintenence schedules usually say 3,000 miles not 4,000. And please tell me this guy didn't use Car motor oil, if he did he is a dumbass. Your supposed to you use motorcycle oil. There is a difference. Also if you do replace your oil filter make sure to put a little bit of oil on the seal of the new filter. You don't have to replace the crush gasket on the drain bolt every time you change your oil. And the "intake hole" is called the filler hole.

  • @Krazyassassin925 There is no difference in motorcycle oil vs. car oil. Motorcycle oil contains a little bit more zinc which should protect it a little bit better. However the amount of zinc in motorcycle oil is hardly more than car oil, which doesn't justify the huge price increase in motorcycle oil. Not to mention the manual says "engine oil" not "motorcycle oil" or "car oil". So long as it doesnt contain friction modifiers and you have the correct weight you should be fine

  • @origGoof automotive oil is formulated as a engine crankcase oil

motorcycle oil is formulated for 3 jobs, a crankcase oil, a transmission-gear oil, and a wet clutch oil. The most important difference is the wet clutch oil, automotive oil won't work because of the energy saving formulation will cause a wet clutch to slip. the average motorcycle engine is a high performance engine, pumping out 4 times more horsepower compared to the bigger size of an automotive engine.

  • @Krazyassassin925 I solved my dilema of car vs motorcycle oil. I chose motorcycle oil just because every brand name car oil had somekind of additive in it, and i didnt want to put cheap no name oil into my bike so i just got bike oil.

motorcycle oil however, is no better at maintaining viscosity than car oil, but because of the additives i choose motorcycle oil for my bike. If im not mistaken, some harley davidsons have a separate crankcase oil and a separate transmission oil

  • @origGoof

Some bikes do have the transmission oil separate from the crankcase oil. But they still have the wet sump clutch.

  • he was turning the oil plug the wrong way at first lol! good work winky

  • You said your oil level is at the full mark...but your video doesn't show it as "full". You're only at the upper middle mark. The full mark is the one at the upper line with the letter "F". And you're too quick in inspecting the oil after you just turn off the bike. You must give ample time for the oil to drain back to have an accurate reading. To save time...mark your oil container with a pen to gauge precisely the amount of oil you'll be refilling as per bike's instruction manual. .

  • @zetec521 duh... you're viewing it at an angle... it's full.

  • @zetec521 H

ey Rationalist 44-- if you noticed the bike is still tilted back so the video camera can show you the level --- if you were SMART you would see that and grasp that if the bike was upright it would be at the F mark -- :) YOu prob should not be on the road if you don;t know how to analyze things

  • @zetec521 He was at an angle

  • @Velasquez459

every half year is good if you dont race!

  • @rama6maiden and how often if you do race?

  • @rsr080291

i dont race so i dont know for shure but i would change it after every race to keep the bike in best condition but i dont know!!

  • @rsr080291 If you put your bike threw a lot of high reving and high speed running. The best time to change your oil is when it starts to turn a dark brown. Don't realy on the miles especially if they are hard miles

  • @Greenmarine6 dark oil doesnt necessarily mean that the oil is dirty or needs to be changed.

  • nice drip pan hahahahaha

  • How about a new oil plug washer and using a torque wrench so as to avoid over tightening?

  • change new oil nut gasket as well or atleast tape ip(plumber tape)otherwise leaking

  • hi, don't know how pro u r, but wondering if u can tell me about this. noticed my friend's bike is smoking black out the exhaust, but ONLY when he turns right. (like at a stop sign, not just cruising) His bike is older (87?) and it's a dual exhaust, I think, running off both sides, not under each other. He doesn't know crap about bikes, but I think this is NOT a good sign. Any clue on what it is? I'm thinking cracked gaskets in the heads, but I don't know.

    thanks.

  • Thank you very much!

  • good vid helped me allot and the guy looks like jim carry in dumb and dumber lol

  • did u just say the w as weight? w is winter

  • Great vid, very helpful. I usually will only hand tighten the oil filter even though my manual says tighten 2 turns with a filter wrench when you feel the oil filter touch.

  • Very helpful video. Thanks!

  • repsol is good oil

  • yes '' do a search to find out the filter for your bike . or ask at your bike shop for the right filter , and do NOT over tighten the drain plug it can snap .. OK good luck

  • does it matter which oil filter u use? I have a bandit 600 2001 and lookin to do a change for my first time.

  • thanks for the video its helpful

  • way too tight on that draing plug. tighten to specified torq.

  • Thanks!
