I wanted to post something that said how great Falling Up is as a band and that their songs are the most energetic and diverse beauty on the airwaves--if they were indeed ever there, because I came about them by a happy-accident--but it seems that this section has devloved into a "holy war" that I cannot particapte in. So, I will post nothing! Ha.
The Bible talks about how God died on the cross for people's sins, it never says that God wants to damn people to hell for sinning, it says the exact opposite. It says he was willing to get mutilated so peoople didnt have to go to hell. if you are going to bash the Bible, atleast get your facts straight first. If you can come up with some true facts to work with to Bash the Bible with id like to hear them

@471002 The Bible is not just one big sermon to read in ___ hours and be done with. It does not preach about slavery, rape, death, all of that. It guides you through choices you make in life, and shows you what can (and will) happen whem you make them.
On the slavery topic: Slavery was different then than it is now. It was not a means of racial discrimination, but a way to help pay off debt. Also, every seven years, there was a year of Jubilee, where every slave was set free.

No. It's what condition the soul in. The music you listen to shows where you are at Spiritually. Tell me the meaning of a Christian. What does that word mean?. It means Christ like. And so that's not christian music because it's not Christ like. When have you seen anything in the Bible where rockin roll shows a Christian life? You can't. There are so meany so called church youth that look like drunks, sluts and jerks. Just because you say your a Chistian does not mean you are. Just like music.

If David had played an electric guitar, God would have loved it just as much---he takes joy in having his children praise him.

God does care what you do, listen to.etc. As long as you believe, and follow him. You don't have to know the Bible to be a Christian. @DSOXBLADE How is it not 'Christ-like', as you say? In the book of Psalms, chapter 100, it says "SHOUT for joy to the Lord, all the earth.' In chapter 150-" Praise Him with the sound of trumpets..with the harp and lyre..with the tambourine..flute, cymbals." These instruments can get pretty loud, like rock music.
The youth that look like 'drunks, sluts, and jerks', may have been alchoholics, or whatever else. They may be going to Church to help change that. Please don't judge someone that way.

The only thing that matters to God (and since you preached on being Christ like, you should know this) is what's on the inside. The heart. The soul. No. I do not think it's okay to be whoever you want. I'm sorry if it seemed like i was implying that. But, I WAS implying that it doesn't matter who you are/were when you accept Christ. Anybody can become a Christian. After they start a relationship with Him, He changes them on the inside. And that affects the outside. That doesn't mean they won't be perfect.

Your soul burns up and that's, well, when you vanish forever. See this is a spirit world. There's your body then there's your spirit and then your soul. @POPclogger216 Because becoming a christian does not save you make you automatically Gods Bride. You have to repent and be baptized unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Just because you say your a Christian and say you love God does not do the the trick. It has to be sincere. And God will see that you are willing to worship him and serve him. And he'll bless you.
@DSOXBLADE If you truly believe in Him, and acknowledge and repent of your sins (That being a part of welcoming Him into your heart/becoming a Christian), then if you were to walk outside and be hit by a car and die, you would still go to Heaven, even if you weren't baptized before you died. Baptism's more of a way to show that you were/are cleansed, sort of giving the person being baptized a sense of renewal.

Because the reason you where in the first place is because you where sincere with getting right with God. And going to be baptized is apart of that. Being baptized is you killing the old and bringing up the new. That's why you go under the water and back up. Not some Priest sprinkling some nasty oil on your head. Or being a baby in a oil bath.
@DSOXBLADE I'm not saying that somebody shouldn't be baptized. Baptism is a great way to publicly express your faith. But if someone were to not be able to have the opportunity of being baptized before they die, I believe they would still go to Heaven, bcause of John 3:18 -"Whoever believes in him [Jesus] is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."

@shitheadxb I use to cut too, but then God showed me a way out of it when i asked Him for help. I use to wonder the same thing: Where is He? but He's there whether we know it or not. He wants our relationship to Him based on faith. That's probably why He doesnt directly reveal Himself to us. He is a God that loves and that's all i need to know that I'm loved by Him to no end.

You say that you can do something right (and that's admirable), but my question is this, "How do you know what is really right?" It's easy for us Christians. All we have to do is see what God says is right and wrong and then try to do right. But how does a person who doesn't believe in God determine what is right? Where did you get a conscience from? As far as I know, scientific research can't show the existence of any kind of "conscience." The Bible explains the existence of a conscience and its purpose.(btw, the Bible isn't a book of rules, its about a way of life. Personally, the more I read and understand the Bible, the more I see how life makes sense, and the more I desire to read the Bible and live it out. I don't follow a bunch of rules; I follow Jesus Christ. My life is amazing because of Jesus.
But how do you know that the people in your past have set you "right?" How do you determine was is truly right? How do you know what is really real? I understand that others have presented to you their opinions of what they think is right, but how do you know that what they deem is right is truly right? Where do you look to to determine ultimate truth? There has to be some kind of an absolute standard for what is right and what is wrong. If there's not, then what's right and wrong can change.
I realize that you prefer to make decisions by yourself, and that's not entirely bad. But let me tell you something about my own life. Every human being I've ever looked up to has let me down. My parents haven't always been right. My friends have lied to me. Politicians and presidents I've voted for and supported have lied and cheated. The only person in my life that has not let me down ever is Jesus Christ. (cont)
The Bible says that Jesus Christ (God) came into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. The Bible also says that Jesus came into the world that we (everyone) might have life and have it to the full. I can tell you from experience that God has kept His promise to me. Jesus (God) was willing to die for me on a cross in my place. I'm not perfect, and I've wronged people in my life. I deserve punishment, but Jesus took that punishment on Himself for me.
My conclusion, then, is this: Because of what Jesus Christ has done for me and because of what He continues to do for me in my own personal day by day existence, I am willing to do anything for Him that He asks of me. I'm not following Jesus because I have to to be a "good Christian." I'm obeying Jesus because I want to. He has been faithful to me; He's never lied to me; He's made my life full to the point of overflowing! He is my God and King and is the only one I fully trust and will follow.

The Bible itself was written over about 1550 years by 40 different authors, on 3 different continents, in three different languages, on controversial topics, by men of very different professions (some were kings, others shepherd boys). @471002 The Bible is not just one big sermon to read in ___ hours and be done with. It does not preach about slavery, rape, death, all of that. It guides you through choices you make in life, and shows you what can (and will) happen whem you make them.
On the slavery topic: Slavery was different then than it is now. It was not a means of racial discrimination, but a way to help pay off debt. Also, every seven years, there was a year of Jubilee, where every slave was set free.

I feel that it's unfair of you to call music played with electric guitars and drums "un-christian" because you claim it's not Christ-like. Sure, rock n' roll is never mentioned in the Bible, but do you know why? Because it didn't exist until recently!

@DSOXBLADE Also, to address the rest of your comment...David praised the Lord with his harp, and God was pleased. Harp music was "modern music" back in biblical times...just like rock is today. If David had played an electric guitar, God would have loved it just as much---he takes joy in having his children praise him.
As for christians who look like sluts...that's not good. God needs to individually deal with people, though. After all, neither you nor I are as perfect as we should be, right?

God does care what you do, listen to.etc. As long as you believe, and follow him. You don't have to know the Bible to be a Christian. @DSOXBLADE How is it not 'Christ-like', as you say? In the book of Psalms, chapter 100, it says "SHOUT for joy to the Lord, all the earth.' In chapter 150-" Praise Him with the sound of trumpets..with the harp and lyre..with the tambourine..flute, cymbals." These instruments can get pretty loud, like rock music.
The youth that look like 'drunks, sluts, and jerks', may have been alchoholics, or whatever else. They may be going to Church to help change that. Please don't judge someone that way.

No. I do not think it's okay to be whoever you want. I'm sorry if it seemed like i was implying that. But, I WAS implying that it doesn't matter who you are/were when you accept Christ. Anybody can become a Christian. After they start a relationship with Him, He changes them on the inside. And that affects the outside. That doesn't mean they won't be perfect.

@DSOXBLADE If you truly believe in Him, and acknowledge and repent of your sins (That being a part of welcoming Him into your heart/becoming a Christian), then if you were to walk outside and be hit by a car and die, you would still go to Heaven, even if you weren't baptized before you died. Baptism's more of a way to show that you were/are cleansed, sort of giving the person being baptized a sense of renewal.

@DSOXBLADE I'm not saying that somebody shouldn't be baptized. Baptism is a great way to publicly express your faith. But if someone were to not be able to have the opportunity of being baptized before they die, I believe they would still go to Heaven, bcause of John 3:18 -"Whoever believes in him [Jesus] is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."

@shitheadxb I use to cut too, but then God showed me a way out of it when i asked Him for help. I use to wonder the same thing: Where is He? but He's there whether we know it or not. He wants our relationship to Him based on faith. That's probably why He doesnt directly reveal Himself to us. He is a God that loves and that's all i need to know that I'm loved by Him to no end.

Saying 'God bless' is simply a comment. It's not a christian trying to convert you. Besides, its not our job to make anyone believe. Never in the Bible does it say to go and convert anyone, it says tell them the good news. If they refuse it, then they refuse it. You say that you can do something right (and that's admirable), but my question is this, "How do you know what is really right?" It's easy for us Christians. All we have to do is see what God says is right and wrong and then try to do right. But how does a person who doesn't believe in God determine what is right? I'm not trying to attack you, I'm just curious.

Where did you get a conscience from? As far as I know, scientific research can't show the existence of any kind of "conscience." The Bible explains the existence of a conscience and its purpose.(btw, the Bible isn't a book of rules, its about a way of life. Personally, the more I read and understand the Bible, the more I see how life makes sense, and the more I desire to read the Bible and live it out. I don't follow a bunch of rules; I follow Jesus Christ. My life is amazing because of Jesus.

But how do you know that the people in your past have set you "right?" How do you determine was is truly right? How do you know what is really real? I understand that others have presented to you their opinions of what they think is right, but how do you know that what they deem is right is truly right? Where do you look to to determine ultimate truth? There has to be some kind of an absolute standard for what is right and what is wrong. If there's not, then what's right and wrong can change.

My parents haven't always been right. My friends have lied to me. Politicians and presidents I've voted for and supported have lied and cheated. The Bible says that Jesus Christ (God) came into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. The Bible also says that Jesus came into the world that we (everyone) might have life and have it to the full. I can tell you from experience that God has kept His promise to me. Jesus (God) was willing to die for me on a cross in my place. I'm not perfect, and I've wronged people in my life. I deserve punishment, but Jesus took that punishment on Himself for me.

My conclusion, then, is this: Because of what Jesus Christ has done for me and because of what He continues to do for me in my own personal day by day existence, I am willing to do anything for Him that He asks of me. I'm not following Jesus because I have to to be a "good Christian." I'm obeying Jesus because I want to. He has been faithful to me; He's never lied to me; He's made my life full to the point of overflowing! He is my God and King and is the only one I fully trust and will follow.

dude, I feel the complete same way, sometimes I just stop and think about my life and I feel a river of tears brewing up because there is so much more I can do as a Christian. It's christmas when I typed this msg, I go to a church which is like 15 minutes away and I already do a lot but we have so much more potential and the more we do for God, the better our lives will be

The whole of the Bible is encompassed in the person of Christ. Jesus Christ was God in human form. (If you disagree, research it. Smarter people than me have tried to disprove the deity of Jesus, and have in turn proved just the opposite.) The message of the Bible has remained the same through the ages because God oversaw its writing; people have tried to distort it though. The Bible teaches how to live a "right"eous life. Jesus is the essence of Christianity.

In short, true Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ whole-heartedly because they have accepted His divine presence in their lives. If one were to look at the teachings of Christ, one would see that no reasonable person would disagree with Him. Jesus taught that all of the commandments of scripture were summed up in just two: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength." & "Love your neighbor as yourself, against such there is no law." God is love.

Its very easy to label people myfacevids the biggest problem in the church today is those people who claim to be Christains but live like the rest of the world, im not perfect myself i have my faults and when i made that commit about the cursing i wasnt being jugdmental at all its not my place i was just pointing something out to a fellow Christain.
