A show that had solid writng, good acting and actually captured a slice of talk radio that did exist. Goodnight America Where Ever You Are. Thanks Jack.
I remember this when it was shown in the UK back in the 80s. Only caught some of the series sadly. One thing never ceases to amaze me though - they never repeat good shows like this, yet they will repeat dross over and over.
I would love to see Midnight Caller again... perhaps one day...
I've watched this tv series and I liked it .his voice in the radio always solving problems.love that..this is Jack Kilian and good night America wherever you are''
I was really young when this was on but what I remember the most was the music.
It had that moody slightly blue feeling which reflected my life at that time but the content of the program suggested there is always hope. Thankfully I found that to be true.
I miss Jack so much as well. I read somewhere the issue was too hard : AIDS, prostitution and so ... What a nonsense ... Well, I'm downloading all the serie e watching again. I'm looooving ! And also I love the overture (??) song : Intimate secrets.
I've been waiting for this series to come out for years now-- would someone explain to me how great drama like this gets cancelled, but we get to watch 25 shallow women competing for a rich handsome man for 7 seasons in a row?
sex sell an back then good tv shows like this was all we could watch an know sex on tv is everywhere.if i could go back i would this is great tv now its shit
whats with the 80's? the best t.v. shows came from the 80's like midnight caller, beauty and the beast, knightrider. i'm so thankful i was an 80's kid the best decade so far in my oppinion.
haha...me too...an 80's kid...has a nice ring to it...did u like The Equalizer too with Edward Wooward? I loved that, used to stay up late to atch it, I was only 10!
yes !! loved the equalizer, they just brought out season 1 in the u.k. a few months ago planning to get it hope it lives up to the nostalic glasses lol.
Bob Seger..."Love's the last to know" from the 1982 LP The Distance. It isn't available on any of his Greatest Hits because it wasn't a single so therefore wasn't a hit.
i loved this programme growing up in my teens wish they could bring it back jack was the man to get every girl in the world swooning hope they release this fine show on dvd
Thank you so much for posting this. I grew up watching this show here in Northern Ireland. Its strange, this show got me interested in Jazz music !!. Please post some intro or outtro music for me please !!
thank you to all who post clips of "Midnight Caller". I watch these clips to relax and remember better times. This was one of my favorite shows during that time of my adolescent life. I grew up not far from SF. And now live in south Chicago, reverse of Jack (moving from Chicago to SF when he was 9)..."Good night America...wherever you are".
I never lived in SF but certainly is a city I love, and I think we all feel pretty much the same about Midnight Caller: it has the power to put you in a certain state of mind that no other TV series has. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Thank you so much for posting "Midnight Caller"! This was my favourite American TV show when I was growing up in Germany. Great memories. I wish they would repeat the lot on TV!
The voice of jack I still think of even after all this time.
It was so so good and it gave hope always.
I miss those days where hope was still alive and people recognised the value of life.
Something there is not so much now sadly.
Good night America wherever you are !
