when she said rodeo it sounded like she pronounced it like that strip o Beverly Hills(ro-day-o) I guess correct pronunciation didn't matter am I right?
Correct pronunciation? Sort of. It is Spanish pronunciation. In actual rodeos, many Mexicans were cowboys in the American west; and of course much of California was populated by Mexicans before it was a state. Not unusual to pronounce it either way.
Ever notice Caucasian newscasters say the word Nicaragua? They almost always say it as if they were native Spanish speakers. Don't know why some people will say just 1 word with the accent of another language, but many people do.
I have one slightly faster in my collection, too. Bill Cullen in an early Plus episode did it in 31 seconds. About the same as here, only needed 2 clues on one word.
@arhaznook, I'm not sure about calling the 80's the "old days," like it was Victorian England, but what you say is actually very true. People really were smarter before the ridiculous culture of texting, cellphones and reality TV took over. They knew more about the world, history, politics and art, and they were just plain more intuitive, creative and curious. Nowadays you'd be hard pressed to find people who are semi-literate, let alone well read.
The fastest win I seen on the Alphabetics was when they had 28 seconds left on the clock but, I heard someone had 31 seconds left when they won the Alphabetics on Super Password.
I've seen someone win the Alphabetics Round with 31 seconds leftover. This was on YouTube as well. The contestant had 27 seconds left but, someone had 31 seconds left when they won in Super Password.
I think so too. That is unless rodeo is pronounced differently where she lives. She pronounced it like Rodeo Drive and where I'm from, it's pronounced RO-dee-Oh not ro-DAY-o.
Opposites and synonyms are allowed on Super Password. On its predecessor, Password Plus, opposites were amended to illegal clues months after its premiere. The 80s Pyramid versions I believe was when synonyms became illegal.
Great win!!!! On myspace, there is a video of Natalie Steel winning $25,000. She was the one that won the Tournament of Champions and ended up winning $106,000 total. She had 25 seconds left on the clock (another great win)
Yeah, and she was the biggest winner in the history of Password (ONLY due to the tournament, which, for some strange reason, was never done again). The biggest non-tournament winner is some male player, who, BTW, won a record $12,000 Cashword, and $45,000 on his first Bonus Round. He ended up with over $84,400 in cash! And if there'd been another ToC, he would've definitely won that, and become the biggest all-time winner. But at least M$P might crown a new Password king.
I held my hand over the answers and got them just as readily (except for Rodeo)
Perfect clues, but possibly just an easy set of words.

OF all the bonus rounds on games shows, I always thought that this one was by far the easiest to win.

In the old days people knew more as general knowledge was promoted. Today most people know all the lyrics to a lot of CDs but not much else.

Ummmmmmm? Oslo is the capital of Norway. That particular question was actually kinda easy.
Of course I suck at U.S. capitals and I live here! I guess the foreign caps come easier to me. Anyway what a great round!

That was on Password Plus (hosted by Tom Kennedy), with the great Joanna Gleason giving the clues. 31 seconds remaining.

Joanna Gleason did it with 28 seconds remaining and then she broke her own record. Both those Password Plus clips are on YouTube.
