Can do this with a disc priest as well, just cast Prayer of Healing and time it so it lands at the end for guaranteed shield. Only they rely on crits to build up the shield so much less reliable when spamming flash heal.
Its not bug ABUSE but it is a bug, hopefully blizzard will fix it because it is an unfair advantage for a holy paladin. A 40k+ shield is extremely unfair, as a paladin will not need uptime on the ally who has the shield at start and this allows him/her to get a good positional advantage in the arena.
Think I've been watching belligerent do this for months, would it also be worth noting that your holy power also stays once the gates open, so on top of the 48k absorb you also have a 30k plus heal right off the bat.
I really don't think it's that big of a deal, but it is a bug, this is bug abuse. You can't legitimize it by saying its the same as X, and if so then X should also be bannable. If blizzard doesn't want it to be done, and they have put in measures so that it isn't, but you find a workaround to make it so, you are breaking the rules. Whether Blizzard bans you or not is up to them. I honestly don't think they will or should as it is a small bug.
They can ban you for whatever they want, if they choose to ban you for this, they'll do it. But I wouldn't say it's cheating, it's just pre healing a team mate and I would find it weird that Blizzard bans somebody for doing that. But again, if they want to, they will. You accepted that when you agreed to the Terms of Service.

You can also do this with Disc Priest Divine Aegis, and (unless they recently changed it) you don't have to time it right, I'm pretty sure it just remains. It's a little harder to do and less reliable, though, because Divine Aegis only procs on crits.

I remember doing this when the new mastery came out, before it got patched it never got reset for like a week in arenas, but once it patched the buff goes away every 10 secs during pre game i think it was. and didn't know it was possible to still do this. nice catch!
Honestly Sacred, I love your videos man, but this isn't a tip, or a trick. It's apparent that Blizzard has the buff remover in place to REMOVE buffs... the fact that you can get AROUND that isn't a tip, or trick.. it's an exploit.

I use this trick myself with my paladin. Another thing i don't see many pallys do is use holy shock 3 times before a match in order to begin with full holy power. this isn't a huge thing, but that extra instant 20k heal can often make a difference especially in say the beginning of a 2v2 vs double DPS
I think its making use of a clever mechanic, but it should be removed for arenas because no other class can use it, for example a priest cant have the power word:shield and power aegis up before it starts, so why should pallys be able to when their already over powered

I love how people whine about this. This video you just released is indeed a showcase of a non-intended bug. But much like any other video Swifty released the past years, it's going to get noticed and REMOVED without any action taken against the player. If anything, Blizzard is glad someone showed this so that they could take notice of it and fix it. Until then, enjoy you paladins who decides the 50k shield is worth it.
No more World PvP due to fly mounts all over the place, we only got 1 place now, and that is TB. You also got portals to all instances with mass summon etc.

Abusing game mechanics...... you should have made this video but of you reporting it after showing its use in arena. I have only played an alt holy paladin like 10 times in arena.. I noticed this one of the first few matches trying to get my charges set pre of holy power set pre fight. The fact you are high ranked and havent noticed this is kinda odd..

I have only played an alt holy paladin like 10 times in arena.. I noticed this one of the first few matches trying to get my charges set pre of holy power set pre fight. The fact you are high ranked and havent noticed this is kinda odd..

Sacreds videos are good but there is no reason anybody of good character would have a reason to post bugs that are exploits and give you a Unfair advantage over other players. Claiming to want to "help people" is invalid because the other 99% of players who dont play with/as a paladin and watch your videos get screwed over through this.

Competetive players will always use glitches/etc. to thier advantage... its not immoral its intellegent. Sometimes theyre abused so much they become standard in skilled play: Wave dashing in melee, bxr bxb in halo etc. He has no reason to block u he prly wont even respond bc ur not even worth his time ;p

Blaming the developers is a excuse to evade the "guilt" (and i use that term for lack of a better one) that comes with using them because if you do, you are indeed a scumbag. Most competitive players will only abuse bugs if they have been in the game for so long and been brought to the devs attention to no avail, but their good enough so they don't need bugs. Abuses and bugs are for the baddies and mediocre.
If he doesn't respond its probably because he knows im right +/doesnt care

@Sacredheals It's still bug abuse, you aren't supposed to start the arena with a 40k shield, thats in principle the same as an unholy dk having 5 stacks of his dark trans. In both cases YOU benefit from a bug while the other team will have a drawback. In other words, it's cheating. And you ain't gonna tell me you can't be banned from cheating?

Due to things like this WoW is no longer MLG qualified, and if I have to say so myself, way less fun than it was before people starting exploiting bugs and glitches. Getting under Orgrimmar is fun, never losing RBG rating isn't... Learn the boundries and stop wrecking this game cause you cant play it the way its supposed to be played.

@Sacredheals Infact yes they can, ur not supposed to have any buff on you lasting less than 1 minute. Since your hPala shield has a duration of 15 seconds, youre not supposed to have it when the game starts.
Exploiting the game = bannable. Even if youre just ``casting spells``
