The cheapest viola da gamba I've seen cost about $3,000 dollars. They're very expensive, unfortunately.

Listening to you a few minutes ago, I immediately fet in love with this piece, and now I realize why : in my souvenir it sounds quite close to a movement of a suite by Hotetterre (E minor) for recorder (or flûte).

To my taste it's deeper than just elegant, it's very difficult to write simple *and* interesting music !
