Not enough static downfall to make it spin fast, normally you have to use a larger pipe on the in-feed and could use a bit more gravity to increase velocity and pressure of the water.

Not enough head or pressure for that type turbine. Turn the entire system vertical.Split the hose into four streams hitting horizontally spinning wheel at equidistant points. If permanent magnets were used no weight on unit would increase efficiency.

It has promise but unfortunately the video does not show it. over unity with trying smaller pumps could have possibly been achieved .

did you use a centrifugal pump as a turbine or the conventional turbine such as the Pelton or Francis turbines?

The rig to test this unit had too many elbows and valves to be a true test. In addition the motor used as a load was too big and the shaft connection caused the turbine to bind, further impacting on performance. The turbine is a model of a larger unit and was a uni experiment - as far as I know we had the best set up during that semster.
