Van Clief is truly a Grandmaster. Past age 50 - he entered the UFC. People told him not to do it because if he lost - he will lose his reputation. He fought Royce Gracie - UFC legend - and lost. But Van Clief is BEYOND winning and losing - beyond ego. Always a lifelong student - he used it as a learning experience, and even congratulated Gracie on his fine performance - instead of making excuse. Ron Van Clief - OSU!!!!

@blacqwolff His voice is like ice, manner calm as a stream. He doesn't waste to much time in idle chat unless it seems pertinent to whatever he deems relevant. The younger kids weren't hip to his legendary status sometimes, but around the lower East Side he had a definite presence. He personally signed three copies of his work "the Black Heros of Martial Arts" for me and my cousins. I think the world of the Honorable Black Dragon.
