  • rein25 hbm were one of the best bands to come out of leicester, only prolapse and yeah yeah noh can challenge there crown.in fact i first met blab happy at an hbm gigg at the charlotte(leicester).Blab happy were good.but hbm giggs were an event. To put it in perspective blabs usually played in front of about 20-30 people, hbh sold out the venue and had people queing to get in right down the street,.sweatybodys, full on mosh pit down the front.mental as fuck.

  • great video i remember this from the fosse days

  • Who are these HBM were people are talking about (I hope I'm not asking an obvious question)?

  • I just re-read what I wrote about - it was ages ago. I hope it didnt sound like I didnt like the Blabs. I really really liked them and still do. Saw them so many times. Great stuff!

  • Tonys my uncle

  • Fine days indeed. I saw Jon in London recently; he's the Guardian's podcaster - what ever that means. Thank you Jeremy's brother for uploading this. Tom H

  • It was fun to see this again, but lets face it..The Blabs knew how to have a good time...but who had all the tunes? HBM!!!

  • Sorry Blabs, no offence meant. I go all the way back with both bands, so I can remember. 'Mr Wonderful' was the most unstoppably great thrill live, but I loved all HBM's stuff...rowdy gigs, dancin all night...but in the end, it was the tunes..Andy Sharm had really great fecking tunes!

  • absolutely! i believe andy sharman is in a new band and can be seen in the charlotte!

  • ruthy2003, so he does. They are called Sourpus and feature more of Andy's great songs. He also had another band I would urge you to hear called The Charmers. Andy has a tendency to jetison his back catalogue in favour of new and not take care of it, so its up to us to make sure it is properly cherished.

  • Thanks for that, do you know how i get to hear any of his stuff?

  • All hail Micks hair in this video !

  • LOL I remember those days well!! Early 90s Leicester had a great little scene going on with some great bands.Crazyhead, Blabs, Huge Big Massive, Nancy Reverb, Some Kinda Wonderful, This Yabis, Hunters Club, Diesel Park West, Gaye Bikers to name but a few! A great time to be young!! I loved the Pump and Tap all dayers on Bank Holidays!! Waheey!!

  • This is ace.

    The drummer is dreamy.

The singer looks like he could do with a warm meal, though.
