  • Only if they make and keep everyone sick.

  • "There's a reason they're in Construction," WTF is that supposed to mean. I grew up in the Logging Industry, I am a Journeyman Finish Carpenter, and I hold a B.A. in Radiology. This is why I charge the shit out of you so called "professionals". Pretty sad that you can't build your own cabinets so you have to call ME, who in your eyes is some dumb uneducated laborer. Who's the dumb one, that's right, you write that check buddy! BTW, that's the same reason Mechanics charge you up the ass!

  • Nurses are treated like crap, by doctors, patients, and other nurses. They have a likelihood to get sick from contagious diseases and chemicals, they wear ugly scrubs, and they really don't get paid too well. I see nurses wearing scrubs all the time in the 99 cent store.

  • I work in the medical field in orange county, CA. I'm a radiology tech that does CAT scan and regular x-ray. I have been doing this for about 4 years now so I got in before the recession. From about 2001-2007 there was a shortage of techs, now that shortage is gone. In my department there hasn't been layoffs at all, and there won't be because we were never overstaffed.

  • dummies like us construction workers can get into the medical field by being lab rats. got to realize medical is run thru insurance companies, obscuring free market, so it's a bubble , and if Obamacare passes that will maintain the bubble until it bursts, and it will burst just like housing, this is a post nafta economy. but by all means, get off prescription drugs, and voluteer yourself for medical experiments.

  • good point - All I know is that nurses are making bank right now

  • George....you're a smart guy who at times does dumb shit...(obama?) Other than that you seem to have a lot of good common sense. But I think you miss the true spirit of America. We don't need the government to get us out of depression. We need OURSELVES. (small buss.) Start growing our own food and producing our own products and tell the Gov. and ALL big business to go to hell. Start trading with gold and our own products. Then show those fat cats what revolution is by cleaning house in 2012.

  • George,

in one video you say college is useless, and in this one....you praise the medical field. Im pretty sure you need a degree to work most positions in the medical field.

  • Actually, the medical field should be able to employ nearly everyone. If there aren't enough sick people to create the necessary work, then obviously we need more carcinogenic and other health-impairing substances in the environment and food supply. We also need to put more people on prescription drugs to keep the pharmaceutical industries going. The govt can just print the money we need. See mercolacom website and click on the Town of Allopath video to see this in action.

    (satirical cmnt)

  • I am a trucker and I want to get a a.s. in nursing. In california there is a 50,000 nurse shortage. Also I have been told that alot of people quit because its a hard job. I know atleast 2 people who accepted way lower paying jobs and left nursing. You can get a nursing degree at a community college in 3 years with minimal investment. and i hear there is no real pay difference between a a.s. and a bachelors degree in nursing, except for a masters in nursing or going in as a nurse practitioner.

  • can anyone explain to me why there is a nursing shotage but hospitals are closing left and right?

  • I don't know for sure, but I heard that many hospitals here in San Diego, CA are closing. Many of them are no longer accepting insurance for the poor either -- most likely because CA has passed that in the budget -- no more insurance for the mentally ill; no more welfare; no more social services.

  • I live in New York city and see the same thing going on here!

  • George

    George

    George

    It's still good.

  • sensationalist, cheezy, jerry springer fake is back. this low brow, campy, phony con artist

  • How knows what is gonna happen to pay should Obama get his wish and implement socialized medicine. Wages will probably get cut quite a bit.

  • Not a reason to go into the Heathcare biz, but if you are already in the biz, you might be safer than in other areas.

  • Cannot see an influx of nurses, only nursing school applicants.

  • George ..Do you know what is in those in &out Burgers... Hint ;; Food Inc.

why do you think they call it In and out....

  • What will happen if Chairman Mao-bama succeeds in socializing healthcare? What will that mean for health care workers' jobs/salaries?

  • ....Sound great.

BUT I old enough to remember 15 Years ago when EVERYONE in TV LAND was telling you about the "Great life" ahead of you in "IT" and "Computers"

.....So just about everybody I knew ran off to pay HUGE MONEY getting "Micrsoft Cert." (at $15,000 BUCKS A POP!!!)

Anyway...by the late 1990s most of these folks were working at TacoBell...TRYING..to pay off Bill and Melinda Gates

Ran into one these guys just 2 days ago...its 15 years later..hes out of work and owes $10,000

  • They are having cutbacks as well, in the labs and skill work, anything that doesnt require getting bodily fluids on your shirt is hard to get, you can still get a job cleaning up afterbirth but yuk!!!

  • Hospitals and associated salaries are for the most part, a burden on the public purse. Junk food fuels that burden.

  • Your videos remind me of the Sonic commercials...LOL

  • I don't really think the medical industry is the answer. For one you may not get accepted. Second I don't think everyone has the stomach for it or the years of study. A lot of poeple are losing health care benifits how are they going to pay for it. This is a big country losing manufacturing industry wich is actually the back bone of a country like this one and all we produce is dept. Prepare for calapse!

  • Well you are certainly feeding the medical industry by eating those GMO burgers.

Anyway, isn't Obama planning to socialize medicine in the US?

  • Interesting stuff

  • Solid meats like steak and broiled chicken are great, but avoid ground meats, like hamburgers, because you don't know what is in it. Extra fat is often added to lower the price and make the customer feel more satisfied. This is good for your wallet but bad for your health. Cheap food is rarely cheap. Also, you don't know what else has been added. Avoid processed meats, like sausages and hot dogs.

Economy? The only hiring I am seeing are low pay, part-time, no-benefits jobs around Austin now.

  • When the economy sinks further and millions more employees lose their jobs, they will lose their health benefits. When this happens millions of times over, people will go without health care because they cannot pay, and the medical industry will go down as well.

I went to Burger King last month for the first time in five years to remind myself why I avoid burgers. It sure tasted good, though.

  • My co-worker is a social worker and she said that hospitals here in San Diego are not accepting any more insurance for the mentally ill or those who depend on social services. This means less patients and less money. It also means as these IOUs are being handed out, things will get worse.

  • Your comment is an unfortunate sad reality. CA is in big trouble!!!

  • I've heard that some nurses are being laid off. Maybe it's just the ones who makes a lot of money.

Maybe now the medical industry will attract people who really care about people and their health and not money. That probably means no one will want to be a doctor.

  • George I think I've heard this before in other types of jobs...I think the medical employees are going to see a hit (I don't know exactly how) and I don't think most of them see it coming.

  • When pensions are reduced or killed money won't be available to continue paying medical employees at the amounts they are currently paid. One could say: as long as there are humans there will be a need for medical employees. But there wages can be reduced and there can be 20 applicants for each job available.

    Thanks for the video George.

  • Nursing will never fill up. Number one there are not enough instructors. This has been the main problem for years. Also after you graduate it is not like what you see on TV> Nursing is a hard and demanding job with peoples lives in your hands. I have been a nurse for 15 years and it is not the answer for most people.

  • my moms a nurse, in NC, she lost her job, but she isn't really having any trouble getting another one, but me, i just graduated high school and i can't even get a job at a grocery store or mcdonalds.

  • Why would you delete my comment George?

I was being very respectful even though I don't like the way you're presenting this channel.

  • With obama's new plans 4 health care the fiels is going to turn into a welfare system people well educated getting paid state minimum wage what a disgrace countries going in ruins, also if u leave the states being a us citizen u still have to pay employment tax to the us 4 the next 10 yrs the usa has become the biggest fraud case in the new millenium.

  • When Obama makes the changes to health care with will no jobs on that field (at least good paying ones)

  • Ok. George. Let me tell you am a Certified Nurse Assistant. I been in the medical field since the age of 16. When i was a junior in HS i got my first job in a Nursing home right after i pass the boards. Got hired on the spot immediately upon taking my application. A year after i worked for LA County GOOD PAY!!! then stupid me decided to go to a UC and quit county. In summer 07 return to a nursing home for work no problem getting hired. Now in 09 cant find nothing!!!!! Still trying =/

  • Wow that's insane, i thought the medical field would be safe, i guess not!

  • I like how this guy can pontificate on any subject known to man. He knows the answers to everything. He thinks he's a Yale business school graduate. Look at the video where he in the Elvin Forest talking about the economy or on here talking about the medical field with some kind of authority. What college did you graduate from?

  • Of course there are jobs if you want to sell your soul.

Man, we are sittin' in the middle of Pharmageddon and you are suggesting that people go work for the evil.

People need to be learning how to plant seeds. That's job security. Suggesting that people feed their family on in N out is death to them. Grow Sprouts--- a whole lot cheaper and rather than poison, are power packed. Looks like only the intelligent may survive.

This goes way deeper than just the economy.

  • Look at all the sabre rattling in N. Korea. What's up with dat?

  • George, the medical field will always have customers. The problem is it has become incorporated and run by CEOs. Doctor join Med Corp for a variety of reasons, chiefly, protection from med malpractice suits. Nurses, although educated and licensed take the brunt of the toil. It's a corporation they work for. Union busting, greed corps.

  • Diener is always a career path with great working conditions, pay, working with top notch people. You just got to have the stomach for it.

  • Just the title of this video alone is hard to take. Seriously, what are you thinking?

You are promoting an industry that fewer and fewer people will be able to afford as there is no security in having medical

benefits. In addition, with the baby boomers soon starting starting to overrun this industry, who would want to work in total stress environment for lower wages as there just will not be enough money to go around?

  • Yeah! Go eat cheap fast food! That will also help the medical field jobs! LOL!!!

Yep. I'm stearing MY kid into the medical field.

  • interesting... I wouldn't bet on health care doing better, its going to be a hecktic industry. I would look more at alternative healing, massage, accupuncture, etc... theirs alot out there, they are PREVENTATIVE care, and you can it some get a quick degree 6 months to a year with some. I just think any big industry for a while will be hard to be in with higher taxes and a govt that has to stick its nose in everything, and change the rules at whim. (bastards). great video!!

  • Oh I forget, They need help administering all those Swine Flu shots!!!

  • very interesting point

  • George why dont we just team up and open an IN-N-OUT?

  • 3 months ago a local hospital employing over 5,000 was head hunting over seas...now it is lay offs & cut backs.

hospitals & the "medical field" in general are becoming the nwo clearing houses!! (death camps) if cancer does not kill you, they will bleed money out of you, until the "cure" kills you!

  • Medical, Alternative Energy, Security. Jobs for the Future. IN-N-OUT Rocks!!

  • You all don't get it, you just contradicted yourself G4T, how do you think that the healthcare jobs will save the economy. you have to have healthcare benenfits to help pay for healthcare, what will happen to the hospitals in LA with going bankrupt, same will apply here. If the Hospitals are being taken over, salaries and benefits will be cut.

  • hospilals here, michigan, have cut jobs,so now nurses do the grunt work the interns,or candy stripers used to do.also jeffery wasnt good at giving straight to the point answers.will these jobs be like all other jobs and wages go down as more people enter the field.

  • Changing bedpans isn't much better than flipping burgers or cutting lawns.

America needs to produce goods to sell abroad (ie create wealth) Maybe food? Maybe entertainment? Maybe the "War" business? That's about it thanks to the Globalist agenda. The rest of the world produces, and we consume till our wealth is gone. Then we get to live at a lower standard than the rest of the world. (Think Mexico).

  • If the economy crashes, who will be able to afford medical care. In Austria, during the Great Depression, doctors used to go door to door begging for money. No kidding.

  • I'm getting an associates in Registered Nurse. Tough to find a school that does the Associates. No need to get a bachelors.

  • Health care cannot save the economy. They do not produce. And it is not large enough to provide secondary employment. Soon the government won't be able to afford to pay the their wages.

  • Please don't get into the medical profession because of the perceived job security.

In the coming depression, job security is an illusion. No industry is safe, not even health care.

Look up allnursing forums on google and read the new nursing graduates asking where all the jobs are.

Years and years of the governments wasteful spending is catching up to us.

Stock up on food, ammo and buy precious metals.

  • Steve you are absolutely right. I have read the allnursing forums as well and it's not pretty. Here in Orange County there are very few available RN jobs. If you go to the employment page on any hospital web site it's not unusual to read, "No jobs available at this time". Before this meltdown there were always tons of jobs. I don't think being an RN is a guarantee for job security.

  • Here in Northern California the job market for RN positions is tight.

Last May, the graduating class at the local college had 55 students, only about 15 have RN positions at hospitals. A few years ago hospitals would woo graduates with sign on bonuses but now a new grad is lucky just to have a job. allnursing forums 4 TONS of hard luck stories

Older RNs like my aunt who were planing to retire have seen their 401k's loose about a third of there value. Now she's planning to work 5 + years.

  • Yes, geriatric care is growing. My father got the military to fund his medical training, then found out he actually didn't want to be a doctor. Saved him a lot of money.

  • For those with a degree, every state offers Fast track nursing degrees and/or Accelerated BSN's. Many employers prefer those with a second degree! Yeah if you gotta switch gears... I got out of health care about 4 years ago. I became a germaphobe while working in clinics. X-ray tech takes only about 18months and pay is good. Not so many germs.

This is some relevant up-to-date info for people. Thanks George!

  • Getting into the medical field is a long term play with regards to retraining. I've seen the ads on foreign websites that recruit developing world nurses to relocate to Canada, England and the USA. This is a field that is overly exposed to manipulation due to our H1B policies. We have already seen the wonderfulness that has blessed upon the domestic computer industry.

  • .. and also new zealand.

  • .. infact getting a nursing degree is probably the easiest way to emigrate to countries such as canada , australia and the uk.

  • Tooth puller will always have business. There is no amount of gold you will not pay to have a dentist to pull a aching tooth. If you can't afford a dentist anybody with a pliers could make $50 to take care of your problem.

  • medical/nursing jobs are resillient world wide. from UK to Oz people are recruiting globally.

  • They are?

  • at least for now.

  • George;

Hospitals are hiring RNs but the medical field is certainly feeling the pinch as well. California has always had a nursing shortage. In the Midwest, I know personally of hospitals that have cut their float pool staff in attempts to save money. No industry is untouchable and with managed care in the pipeline, we are doomed as a profession. BTW you can get an associate RN degree with two years and some general courses so collectively speaking the fastest route to RN is about 3 years.

  • I think the trend will be more towards hospice care or taking care of people in their own homes by untrained professionals who make minimum wage. I know because someone I know who doesn't have any degree is doing this -- she's taking care of an old retired doctor in his own home.

  • Any high school graduates, just graduating. Go to college and study to become a nurse, physical therapist. Basically those jobs geared toward baby boomers getting old and going into hospitals. 2 year degree Licensed vocational nurse. Physical therapy assistant.

  • Here in San Diego there is a backlogged list for people wanting to be nurses. There aren't enough classes to even accomodate the need. I was interested in becoming a nurse but found out that it would take years to even get into the classes, etc.

  • I know this sounds morbid but I read an article a while back that said if you're looking for investments or careers, look towards the funeral industry because the boomers will start dying soon.

  • And they make tons of money...

  • That's what i'm sayin. I know these people are surving.

  • Thanks for the tip. Won't most boomers live long lives though? A co-workers once told me that old white men live to be in their 80s and 90s. Those of us who are younger may starve to death due to the recession before we can even say "sayonara" to these older people.

  • Here's a tongue-in-cheek point of view of the situation. Google "onion boomer funerals". The article I initially read was in an investment type magazine and they were seriously discussing investment and career potentials. For example, investing in companies that build caskets.

  • Thanks G4T-Great info but now Im sooooooo Hungry for INnOUT burger. Also let me know when you come to San Diego.

  • nice video man, its nice of you to do this.

  • Employers are being animals.
