1:55 You made one mistake, Spider-Man came out May 3, 2002 and Daredevil was debut February 14, 2003; which means Spider-Man was the very next film Marvel did after X-Men. I also know Daredevil came out in '03 because Evanescence's first studio album was out at the time and they used a lot of their music from Fallen for the Daredevil Soundtrack.
i think, ppl in general, dont really respect ben affleck... and they found it hard to believe in the character based simply on that.. and so this movie bombed,,, id say alot of that comes from his time dating jennifer lopez.. remember the whole "bennifer" crap at one stage there... kinda the same for brad pitt.. all that time spent on the front covers of them womens magazines, killed their cred..
Yeah I think the choppy editing was this film's big weakness. Everything else was pointing to a great movie. Colin Farrell, to me, is AWESOME as Bullseye. He's pretty hilarious. Garner's ok, but my opinion may be skewed because of the ELEKTRA movie. Affleck...well, personally, I would have liked to see a smaller star play this character. I don't like when big names are just thrown in for the hell of it.
Just to clarify, Spider-Man did come out before this film. I dont know if you addressed this later in another review, im just letting you know. Spider-Man was released in 2002, Daredevil was released in 2003
kingpin didn't have murdock's father killed, he killed his father since he was a lowly enforcer for the mob boss at the time. I liked the review, but the director's cut was wayyyyyyy better as a whole. If it wasn't for the producer's demand to make the movie move faster since "nobody knows or cares about this character" (seriously, watch the director's cut extras it's noted that that's what he says). MSJ means well, but between daredevil & ghost rider -- his movies seem somewhat incomplete.
@kakuichi btw, you said "......the crow" as if it wasn't a good movie. Also, an honorable mention that seems to have been somewhat forgotten -- the shadow starring alec baldwin.
(Wouldn't mind reading a Batman/The Shadow Crossover comic)
Great review I liked this film and I didn't find it to be confusing. I also own the Directors cut and although it gives the film more balance, I'm still a fan of the original cut.
@Agr0pr0 well, it was during the same time period (2002-2003), but Spider-Man was released in May 3, 2002, and Daredevil was released in February 14, 2003.
This movie has so many plot holes, it's crazy. The director's cut is so much better than this version.

I've seen the theatrical cut and I have been meaning to check out the directors cut. I didn't think this movie was bad I just thought it was weak.

@gabboep1995
It was the release and success of Spider-Man that made the producers want to edit the film to be more kid friendly.
