actually when tom plays live he leaves the a string open so the capo is needed because when we play i leave my a string unmuted and it sounds a lot better and fuller

ummm no. when you're playing the chorus where you have the "open" A string, your finger placed on the E string automatically touches the A so it mutes it anyway. The real reason Tom uses a capo during the live performances of this song is for the interlude that he does (it's obviously different than this 2009 tour version) Tom uses a capo during the pepsi smash version for example, to make it so he doesn't have to stretch his hand half-way up the fretboard at the start of the interlude

In the 2009 version, theres no distortion in the chorus that tom sings, theres delay and flanger on the solo part between the first and second chorus repeats, and you missed the AVAish notes during the chorus where tom doesn't sing. -

did i say that I personally have never used tabs? Please find it for me. Anyway Im sure that most people arent able to tab out songs, and for most song i need seperate tabs. But i dont go around asking people for them, usually they dont write it in advance so it becomes really hard on the person that performed the song to write everything out. I do use tabs, but cmon, this song is all just octaves, nothing complicated. I just think its annoying people ask for tabs for a song as simple as this.

what effect do you use in the beginning or is that just the clean channel with no effects? also what distortion do you use?

The beginning is just clean, i just maxed out my mids, put no bass, and halfway on treble. And i use the distortion from my Crate FW-65 amp, no pedal.
