  • iv discovered my mind is constantly wondering after watching these videos lol, im almost never really fully aware of anything in this sense.

  • What evidence do you have for these claims of curing cancer and MS? Just anecdotes? That's the same level of support you'll see for quackery. Please consider the strength of your claims.

  • @HeroldLt I can't say anything for cancer but body awareness therapy has been shown to be tremendously effective with MS and walking meditation is a huge part of that. It doesn't really matter either way; I doubt anyone with cancer decides the best cure would be walking meditation =]

  • When you walking...more over 2 hour..it will be help you in deep when you sitting meditation..

  • @summercircus91 is there laws on how you walk where you live?

  • yeah, where am i gonna find somwhere to walk around like this:|

  • Might I ask what the towel is for? I'm new to all this.

  • @punchdrunkatheist don't forget to bring a towel

  • Out of hundreds of videos i have watched, i found your video to be most helpful. Moreover your voice is so soothing..and my mind goes into a very tranquil state, just by listening to your video, sitting with my eyes closed. Thank You very much.

  • i'm having a hard time staying concentrated. i find myself constantly stopping and thinking over and over. is this natural? i guess i'm not used to it. being a beginner.

  • @travhanes Yes, this is natural. This is the purpose of meditation. You are now seeing your thinking as it arises. When this happens just note, "Thinking... thinking... thinking..." Sometimes when we are practicing walking meditation and we have a lot of thinking it is useful to stop walking (Note: "Stopping, stopping, stopping") then note the thinking. Once the thinking subsides or the awareness shifts back to the body then continue the walking.

  • Thank-you so much for making these videos. I live in a very cluttered and busy society, so this really does help. Would I be able to listen to peaceful calming music whilst doing this?

  • Thank you so much for these tutorials!. I have also started meditate it also calm my mind down and i am much happier. Peace

  • thanks for this! very informative. I agree with the release of dogma in the description box, not necessary for meditation!

  • Is it preferable to do this meditation outside and barefooted? Thanks, I am loving your videos!!!

  • Hey, These videos are awesome, thnks for sharing, i´ve been looking for some meditation techniques to increase my vibration and im pretty sure that these techniques will help..

    Thanks again :)

  • One question, two actually. The first: do we have to do sitting meditation immediatly after walking meditation is done? or can we alternate it, one day walking the other sitting. The second: instead of walking 4 meters or so, can I just walk a mile to wherever and come back? or does it have to be in a limited space with constat turning? Thank you. I love your videos. :)

  • any suggesting on meditation for anxiety, like what kind of meditation should i do for that.

  • I sometimes do a similar thing when I'm thinking hard about some things. I will just walk around slowly with hands behind my back, looking down and thinking, sort of like Scrooge McDuck used to do, haha! And my mum used to tell me to stop pacing. But yea, I find that it really does make me think better.

  • This part really blew my mind

  • this is great. thankYou

  • can i use this method to walk a long distance like to school or the store or is it only for a distance of a few feet?

  • @maria1239876 I'm wondering this also. I don't see why it wouldn't; I have tried a few times walking while meditating to a nearby park and then doing sitting meditation once I get there and it seemed the same while walking there. I am not sure though so I hope he replies.

  • sounds more like robotics ;)

  • Like but u need to speak a little louder for me.

  • I love walking meditation. It just great :)

  • Where is this place at? I would love to visit there, it's gorgeous.

  • If meditation would also make my financial problems dissapear. my life would be perfect !

  • try sungazing!! it will trow your glasses away!!

  • Thank you for the information, you truly care about this and I like the quality of your videos. They show how you truly know your meditation.

  • Are your videos in the Creative Commons? I ask because they would be easier to share in some circumstances.

  • @Bueaify monks are bald I would guess because you can get attached to your hair, or maybe to symbolize what was attached being unattached, lol

  • Is there any reason to shave your head ? i know there is , there must be ,but what is it ? :)

  • This is perfect have to walk 3-5 hours each day from work. Didn't even realize I was doin exactly thus. Truely works. Growing my mind and calling the universe to give me what I need .

  • im new to meditashon dose any 1 have edvice for a begginer

  • Thank you so much! you are are wonderful!

  • Your surroundings are always so beautiful they must be inspiring

  • when do you decide to stop walking?

  • great video, can you plz make a video on drivin' meditation it would be so nice and so usefull cauz we spend alot of time driving

  • I have something to add on. The heart of meditation is to help you practice to be at the present moment, fully aware of the now. When you do sitting meditation, you could achieve mindfulness easily as by sitting and close your eyes, you close your sight senses and body is not moving. But some might realize that in daily life, this is not the case. So walking meditation, is to strengthen your mind while your eyes open and body is moving. For some sitting work, but some prefer walking.

  • I love your videos so much! I hope I can follow it as well as you do, but I have a lot of trouble when a thought comes to my mind. When you say "Thinking, thinking", I, instead of acknowledging the fact that I have a thought, go into a "mental reflex" and actually thing about it, rather than acknowledging it. This is wrong, right? If so, please give me your advice. =D

  • thank you. your videos are very clear and they have a calming effect by simply watching them. please keep posting. thank you.

  • okay, but this would be really annoying if you're trying to get somewhere..

  • what about the things around us that might distract us while we meditate? Do we also focus on them so that they go away or do we simply try to return to the movement?

  • for the sitting meditation do i concentrate on the pain or happyness or do i concentrate on my stomache motions?

  • I really like your video clips because they are captioned! Many thanks!! they're very helpful videos!

  • I've been doing this since I was like 8 and never even noticed that it was walking meditation ._.

  • It's a big claim to say that meditation cured cancer.

It makes me ask why, if these techniques are so poerful and healing, the cancer sufferer became sick in the first place.

I know that meditation has great benefits but I have never heard anyone claim that it's a cure for cancer before.

  • I want to ask one question .. which i had noticed . In this video yuttadhammo said that meditation can cure any disease ..like cancer or anything ... but tell me why he is not able to cure his eyes . same for the His Holiness Dalai lama .... Please clarify !!

  • This may seem redundant or repetive labeling our thoughts ,as we think them .In actuallity ,we have so many thoughts usually racing through,we never stop to label and slow it down enough to see/ feel what is really taking place in the mind ,Most of the time its not even important. Thanks for helping to see this and take each step .

  • Amazing video thanks and what an beautiful and peacefull environment.

  • thank you. You articulate this subject extremely well.

  • Thank you for all these videos, I used to be Catholic, but right now I am in the process of "converting" to Buddhism. So far I've pretty much understood most f the teachings and the ways of Buddhism, I've learned about the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, and the Five Precepts, but I have a question, is there prayers that we can say before we goto bed like Catholics do ? If so can you plkease make a video tutorial on how to do so ? Thanks and bye. BuddhaBeWithYou(:

  • thanks for the great videos. What do you do with the breath?

  • good videos they seem to work and seriously u look like ahn from the avatar series

  • Hi. First I´d like to say your videos are so helpful and they do make a difference.

Keep up the excellent work. Second, where do the videos take place ? It is so beautiful !

  • I am wondering are you practicing Theravada Buddhism? I am loving your videos by the way! :-)

I find them very interesting and helpful.

Keep up the good work friend...

  • @TheravadaInsight yes, following a Burmese tradition based on the teachings of Mahasi Sayadaw. Thanks for the feedback; looks like you're up to good work as well. All the best :)

  • @yuttadhammo Thank you.

  • @yuttadhammo can u use the walking meditation style when i go for a run?

  • Yes. Thank you so much for sharing your learnings. Personally, they provide, to me, great help in my meditation and mindful living. It clearly defines and shows how mindful doing in the now/in the present moment, of mundane ordinary acts can be, a most wonderful source of peace and joy!

  • @TheravadaInsight just look at his robe, he's therevada all the way lol

  • I love your videos. I will take these in to reality!

  • Such a beautiful calming voice.

Thanks for sharing this valuable information.

Many thanks for your prostration video as well.

  • so you said it will cure the body, i love to play American Football but i cannot play for very long because i have shin splints, will walking/sitting meditation help my shin splints heal faster?

  • @FadedDeth from what I've heard, yes indeed, it has a great benefit especially to the legs. I even helped a woman with MS learn to walk again.

  • @yuttadhammo Does MS= Mental Sickness?

  • @Stanaford

No...MS does not mean ''mental sickness' it means multiple sclerosis.

  • @yuttadhammo i have a hard time believing that

  • @FadedDeth also eating raw fruits and vegetables will help. juice some greens

  • Thank you so much for these videos! I would love to get into deep meditation, just I would feel silly in front of my parents. So I normally meditate before bed to clear my head. Thanks again for these great videos.

  • @mjr1990 you're welcome :)

  • What if mosquitos are biting you? Do you ignore them or say "Slapping Bug"

  • @ChasingOrbs "brushing", might be the kinder thing to do...

  • i dont get the talkn to yourself are u supposed to say the words but not to think or only think the words

  • @rechicken2008 repeat them in your mind... you should watch the first video...

  • i have naturally been doing this walking meditation when ever i walk anywhere i dont know how to explain how i can but i just "expand" and i find peace in findind the answers to even simple things like a rock even or why i am who i am or the impact i have on life do you have a explanation for any of this or am a just lost

  • Have cured cancer? How do we know this? This sounds like a hoax. I am in favour of walking meditation, it fits me really much (at least for now), but lets not overreact, so to say... This is just meditation, not miracle.

  • thinking thinking ... boring boring :D

  • Would you have to keep the walking at the same pace as you or whatever is comfortable for yourself? Can it be faster then your pace and then you can build it up that you can do it slower and a longer time without getting distracted? Can you do it indoors as well? Does it have it be in a quiet place or can you do it going up and down a suburb street?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm very inquisitive. :)

Thank you for the wonderful videos.

  • You don't need to do it at my pace, no. Should be not too slow, not too fast. Indoors, outdoors, quiet, loud, anywhere is fine.

  • Thank you for your light

  • I see a great amount of Hindu's in my area doing this meditation walk. I always wondered why they all walked like this, now I get it.

  • Excellent. Have a good day and do good work. Thanks

  • Very good video...

  • in the brief pauses between each step what do we say to ourselves?

  • Thank you so much for the guide! :)

  • you're always in such beautiful places in these videos. anyways, thank you for these, i've always wanted to try meditation, but i didnt really know how to do it.

  • Dear Yuttadhammo. I keep getting itching problems whenever I try the sitting meditation. i Itch on mostly my upper back. The urge to scratch it ist just so much. then when I do i get itches in other places, and saying itching brings more itching all over. are you aloud to scratch yourself while trying to meditate? or does that break it all up. and what can i do about this whole itching problem. anyone please answer as well. an itch here and there and scratch over and over diff places

  • Scratching is okay, just say to yourself, "scratching, scratching." Rubbing softly is perhaps more appropriate, though.

  • what can i not do while siting meditiation is under way, i mean like this may sound rediculous but is it bad to open your eyes during it or swollow or cough...

  • just say "opening, opening" or "swollowing, swollowing", etc

  • @yuttadhammo its about truely understanding what your actions are correct and thinking about why you are doing it understand it then go back to your meditation correct me pls if im wrong

  • Can you please reveal your souce when you say that meditation cures cancer?

  • Could you possibly do this while standing one your hands? I have a feeling that this would make practicing that action much easier for me. Would you suggest it?

  • is it important we do it in a confined area or can we do it walking long distances without turning around?

  • turning around is good, because it keeps the mind focused and disciplined. walking without turning around is discouraged in formal practice because it allows the mind to wander more and doesn't bring the same disciplined focus as walking back and forth.

  • one question, why do you shave your head,i do it because you can feel all the air,,but is their a spiritual thing,or is it an option

  • First of all, thank you very much for these terrific videos. I'm just starting out with the walking meditation and I notice that when I'm able to focus on each and every step, I get a very warm and comforting feeling instead of a feeling of emptiness, which i assumed to be the result we're after. Is this the first step? Could it be the joy of experiencing a first breakthrough from having my thoughts and worries controlling my life? Will more practice lead to a true meditative state?

  • Warm and comfortable feelings are really nice, and a good first step, but just remember that clinging to good feelings leads to addiction and suffering... just be aware of the feeing as "comfortable, comfortable" and so on, and that will be enough to stay clear and free from addiction.

More practice will lead to less clinging. That is most important. Without clinging, there is no suffering.

  • FFinally something I am looking for.thank you for your time in making this video. You did an excellent job in making and discussing the steps on how to take on meditaion step by step so to say.I am more of researcher as well on these topics and related things.but now that will soon very change.i have become very awkened through this steps of medition, very simple yet profound.THANKS! now its my turn :]

  • I was surprised to learn how unbalanced I was when attempting this form of meditation. It has taken several weeks of performing ten daily minutes of this meditation before I was able to balance without tottering.

  • Anumodhana Sadhu..

  • Anumodhana Sadhu...

  • Such beautiful lake over there!!! :o

    7:34

  • yup what a nice *green* lake :S

  • Thank You 4 the video.

  • I am discovering Meditation and wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge on Meditation. It's been very helpful. Thanks again!

  • who knew that meditation could cure cancer? theres the answer stop searching!!!

  • disease comes from the mind. =]

  • Someone else here stated that this was a great explanation of the mechanics - and I agree. I admit to being someone who studies more than practices, which I hope to change. This series is super helpful! Without a teacher, and relying heavily on books, videos, etc, it's difficult to find this type of instructional material. Your explanations on walking meditation seem incredibly applicable to many of my daily habits, like swimming or paddling a kayak, which tend to naturally focus me...

  • Thanks for posting this. I will definately make use of your teaching. Please keep posting.

  • Thanks ♥

  • this is done really great. and in HD too. like wow. Thanks so much. keep 'm coming.
