  • don't worry about the past. if the wing chun history isn't recorded on paper then it's just all word of mouth. word of mouth changes from one person to the next. no one will ever know the truth. let it be. the wing chun today is much better than when it was first created anyways. more practioner all around the world, wing chun seen through more eyes mean more defined, better praticioners. just fine lineage you like and practice.

  • Very nice interview !! "至善" translate to English is - Chi Sin [or Ji Sin] not Chi Sim!

  • So where does Lo Man Kam fits into all this?

  • Awesome! Thanks for uploading this interview!

Btw what's the name of the music from 9:10 - 11:21?

  • Was there anything in that longer Siu Lin Tau that isn't found in any of the 6 forms in Ip Man Wing Chun in some way or another?

  • So much for lineage. Whose story will we believe? William Cheung claims that he's got the original Wing Chun. Now this Sifu says that he's got the original. Others claim that they are original! Grrrrrrrrr!

  • This is heavy news for wing chun practioners.

  • He tells about 12 empty hand forms,I remind me to read anything about a Wing Chun System called "Pao fa lien " which has so many. Does anyone knows more about it?But this system have also many weapon forms like for saber etc. and also Chi Sao whats looks more like tui shou.

  • i cried when i saw this , if we only knew that there was footwork in siu nim tau wow im so amazed at this thank you sifu.

  • i don't understand what he said..confusing...

  • I dont think this is right. Po Pai is already in SLT. If you cannot see that then you need to study harder.

  • Wait!!! He is saying that because Yip Man didnt learn the full form so it became called "siu lim tao"? If so than why do many lineages that branched before Yip Man use that same name and perform it up to the same point?

  • Weng Chun is Wing Chun!!!!

  • 2nd half looks like soft hung ga to me, but W.C. does also have these techn. in the system. [po-pai, arrow punch etc..]

either wing chun and hung ga are completely seperate styles [ng mui founder of W.C. vs jee sin founder of hung ga] and some sifus simply added parts of them together, or they are closely related styles from the same source. the point of view you take will decide on who to believe in this debate.

that being said i do feel that fukien province is the orig. source of W.C

  • This was a mind blowing interview! Thanks!

  • Very interesting, thats why the po pai( butterfly) in the dummy form but not in any of the empty hand form

  • @zotzclap

The Po Pai is in Chum Kiu. See William Cheung.

  • what an amazing interview and great piece of traditional wushu history, 5 stars! thanks for sharing!

  • I kind of feel like you are my gung fu history-teacher at the university of You Tube.

When is the exams coming up, and will this be on the test:??..:)

Kidding aside,Thanks sifu Sergio for another great video.

  • There should be no style disputes at all . it's a sad state of affairs that all exponants of this gungfu system cannot come together as one family and all learn the same complete system. Only then would it truly become a complete and unified gungfu system and truly bring the chinese boxing community together as one.

  • Sifu, great interview. Nice to see that there's still a lot to learn.

    Thank you.

  • Thank you Soo much for this! I also got chills when hearing some parts from this interview. I would love to get information about the location of this school, I want to continue my training with sifu tam woon biu.

thank you very much for this Sifu Sergio

  • WOW! This is amazing to hear. I really got a chill after the interview, the hair on my arm rose.

    Thank's for this video

    /Chris

  • This was a interesting interview.

  • So Abbot Jee Sim See (sorry if I misspelled his name) is the originator of the Weng Wing Chun Kuen combat system, eh?

I have also heard that the Yim Wing Chun story was a cover-up/lie.

And what about Ng Mui? Did she exist and was she one of the five from the Siu Lam legend? And so, Leung Bik was a spoiled brat who didn't know much Wing Chun but still defeated Ip Man? I love this Siu Nim Tao form because it answers a lot of questions I've been asking myself for years, just the patterns alone.

  • nice dude

  • finally

  • Wow, amazing video. Goes to show how much is missing from a lot of Wing Chun systems.
