Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 - Unboxing & Review

this mouse is great but it does have some disadvantages, the scroll wheel is difficult to press, the battery life is about 1-1.5 months is it's left on, and the wireless technology is 2.4ghz the same as a router and laptop, so this creates interference is there is wi-fi traffic between a laptop and a wi-fi router or a router and a xbox, ps3 etc.

I was reading a few reviews about Microsoft mice that comes with this nanotransceiver and that the nanotransceiver stopped working in a few days because of an overheating. Did it happen to you? I liked this mouse but I'm a little afraid on buying it because of this problem. Thanks for your attention.

Yes mine lasted 9 months and it worked great in every way, the only problem is the USB part. Just recently it overheated, and i mean like it was HOTT!!! it burned me.

everytime i lift up my 4000 off the surface,the power turns off by itself and i have some minor issues with the cursor shaking uncontrollably. anybody else have same problems as me? :/

Good review! I inadvertently bought this not realizing that it was a mobile mouse... Lol, I know, should have read the box better. It is a nice little mouse and it feels really good in the hand, best scroll wheel I have used so far. I think it's a little small for daily use on my laptop though so I will be returning it for a larger model. For someone with small hands or young kids this might be the perfect size mouse for them.

@tunasanwitch I have sent paperwork to the satisfaction guarantee department with a ton of info and it will probably be 6-8 weeks or more before I hear of a refund. call Microsoft and tell them u want a refund or rebate to buy different model. It sucks we are out money for now but ya got to jump through hoops to get it back. 1-800-Microsoft (642-7676) this is the number I started with. be calm but firm, no need to negotiate just tell them what you want and be prepared to say it several times

And no, it does not work on any surface.

Battery life goes down really fast..

Scrollwheel doesnt allow for quick scrolling and after a while, it get´s stuck entirely. Used it during summer and even the rubber on the scrollwheel just fall off..

Use it for longer than a view weeks and you´ll see this is not worth 40 bucks (30 euro in my country)

CAREFUL!!! I've had three of these mice and the Nano Transceiver heats up really hot while in the USB port and falls apart and it is hard to get out of your computer. I am trying to get a refund or rebate because I don't want to give another one of these mice a chance to damage my laptop.

I'm using this mouse on my pc and I'm gonna get one for my laptop, too. It's the best looking wireless mouse (excluding Razer Mamba). All the colours are lovely. I wouldn't mind it beign a bit bigger, though but i'm getting used to the size. Good review.

I use this one for playing Osu! which is a mouse-based rythm game. It is precise enough for playing that game, so I think it would work great on other games which requires precise movements.
