  • What a joke! How dare Al Franken exploit his wife for political gain.

    For shame.

  • He's doing to respond to the claims that he's some kind of boorish oof, it shows he's a human being

  • Good luck, Al. Our country needs you.

  • Please... support the man all you want but don't speak in absolutes that can be shot down without effort. "Our country need you."

    Why?

Good luck Norm. Our country needs you.

    Get my point.

  • rate me 1-10 p

  • Solid blue collar, you go Al!! Ask Paul Simon to use his song, my friend Al (Graceland)in a campaign ad! ;)

  • Yeah, Norm still speaks like he just got off the train from Jersey!

  • Why would Minnesota want a New Yorker, when they can have Franken, a Minnesotan? Nothing against New York, I love the state, but Minnesota loves Franken because he is Minnesotan.

  • Great point.

  • None taken, As a New Yorker I'm watching you Minnesota to do the right thing. Al is great man. I believe as a fellow countryman that Al Franken will be a great US Senator from Minnesota.

  • I grew up in Minnesota, and would've loved the opportunity to vote for Franken. I hope he wins! Minnesota needs to get rid of Coleman.

  • I used to dismiss this guy as just an attempt to out-punk the Right Wing punk-jocks, and was ashamed that he was a Liberal.

But now, there's no-one that I want to win in November as much as Al Franken.

    No-one.

  • Family challenges and geting through them are a strong base for how a candidate will approach issuses of others. Al's real, Franni's real. It's not what happens to us in life, but how we react to what happens to us that counts. Long live Al. You're gonna make it! Don't stop believing. Americans who truly care about the right things will vote for you.

  • Thank you for your bravery, Franni, in talking about issues that many people struggle with, and are ashamed of. People need to know that someone truly does understand and care. I'm sure you reached out to many with your message.

  • I cried :(

  • Rock on, Al & Franni. xoxo

  • No mentions of cocaine?

  • Hmm, it seems you're thinking of the guy that you voted for in the last two Presidential elections, silly.

  • 34,737 views, 77 ratings, and... 3 comments?? What gives?

  • No one cares

  • about YOU.

    also, yer mom.

  • Wonderful. I love Al and Franni.

  • This is so brave of you. I have a 21 year old daughter who is an alcoholic and it is so hard not not only come to grips with it but to wonder who will still be your friend and who doesn't want to spend time with someone who doesn't "party". Sometimes she feels so alone. Thank you Franni. We have been supporting Al since he first announced he would run. I know he will be a fabulous Sentor. PS. He writes the funniest and most knowledgable books I've ever read!

  • Well done, Franni. You are inspirational and courageous...thank you!

  • Powerful ad.

  • On the stump Al frequently refers to Franni as his 'secret weapon." Now we know why. She is a remarkable woman- and makes an awesome apple pie, too.

  • Thank you for sharing your feelings with the group.Your in the right place.

  • Thank you for sharing your feelings with the group.

  • Brilliant ad. I'm hoping Minnesota's will have the common sense to send Al Franken to the Senate and reject Norm Coleman.

  • Fabulous ad. It truly shows who Al is. Separate the fact from the fiction boys.

  • Yes, and he's gaining on Coleman. Good work, telling the truth, standing by Franni. Real family values. Vote Franken

  • EXCEPTIONAL! You don't make this kind of ad up...I applaud this kind of politic and politician. We need honest caring thoughtful leaders...and dangnabbit it looks like we just might get some! VOTE!

  • Go Al!

  • Franken is a good guy and he knows the issues. He's going to serve the people of Minnesota well.

  • The best comics don't tell jokes. They just tell the truth in a way nobody's thought of. That's what makes Al funny. And while he might've said some things that went over the line when he was working as a writer on SNL in the late 70's, in my opinion, we need a professional truth-teller in D.C.

  • I recognized the seriousness and the love that Al Franken expressed in "Stuart Saves His Family" and "When A Man Loves a Woman." You could tell that it was based on personal experience. These are seriously good people.

  • wow. without a doubt the best political ad i've ever seen. it's amazing how effective a message can be when it's personal and honest.

  • AL Franken. Thank you so much. That is the sweetest ad I've seen. I got tears in my eyes seeing those pictures of the two of you together.

Thanks for running for the senate. I know it's a difficult thing to do- put yourself out on the line every day for people to criticize. In that respect, it's a lot like acting and writing.

  • good job al, real touching, i'm rallying all of my MN friends to vote 4 you if i could, i would vote 4 you but i live in N.D. This really puts a face to your campaign, that most people don't know. i saw this ad on television and liked it so much i showed my friends on youtube. Godspeed AL FRANKEN

  • good job al, real touching, i'm rallying all of my MN friends to vote 4 you if i could, i would vote 4 you, but i live in N.D. thanx 4 accepting my friend invite. Godspeed AL FRANKEN

  • Best wishes to you and your family, also good luck in the election.

  • good job al. real touching, i live in N.D. i would vote 4 you if i could, i'm rallying all of my MN friends to vote 4 you

  • I admire Franni for sharing her story with the people of Minnesota. She seems like a fantastic lady, and I wish her the best.

    Go AL!

  • Go Al! We're gonna win this one!

  • Al's heart IS in the right place. And that's a lot more than can be said about most politicians.

  • It's funny how Coleman's supporters slink away when an authentic commercial reinforcing that Al Franken is a great person is broadcast.

I'm glad that someone is raising the bar for political ads in the campaign.

  • They have the same glasses! How cute!

  • I've met Franni twice and shes a wonderful lady. I love this ad because it shows trust and the loving side of the people who are trying to make a difference. Unlike countless amount of constant and really bitter and nasty ads. We need people like Al and Franni who care about the people themselves because like all of us have flaws but have over came them and are now trying to make a difference. That is what makes a strong leader, not attacking someone and avoiding the issues.

    Go Al and Franni!

  • great ad. we need Al in the Senate.
