  • Oh lord. I miss this man, and never met him. Lol

  • I believe the correct words are No tender voice like thine can peace it will uphold. I used to have a group in san diego, california that sung this years ago.

  • No one and I mean NO ONE can direct a choir like O'landa Draper! That man had skills, control and power. I was able to make the 10th Anniversary Celebration a few years back and they gave a great concert. And the lady that admistered the prayer that now lives in TX, BEAUTIFUL. Her words cut some people, but they were on point. Peace

  • Wow!! I havent heard this in such a long time!! I think our choir sung almost all of his songs and arrangements!!

  • One of my all time Draper & Associate songs....Love it!

  • No love for the band??? hahaha!

  • @jcsgroove "Give it up for the bannnnddd" On the Reflections cd. I love this choir and song. I try to direct like him, but our choir ain't ready, lol.

  • All I can say is WOW!!!! The ending was absolutely amazing... aside from the song itself that was absolutely breathtaking, but the end just showed all the training and gifts that God blessed Mr. Draper with! I am speechless.... God anointed that brother and may he have his position directing that heavenly choir!!!

  • Ole Skool

  • He was simply the best to me arrangements were off the chain!!!

  • Awesome!!

  • 3:25 is POPPPPIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • O'Landa and the Associates - The best choir I ever heard live!!! O'Landa did a workshop for our church in Lansing, Michigan a looooongg time ago - his passion and presence overwhelmed us... Bless God for the gift that was given and the record of his legacy.

  • Love them!!!

  • I felt the annointing!

  • That girl sounds and looks alot like Tamela Mann

  • Whatz up with dude on the front row in the middle? LOL!!!

  • I need the lyrics really bad. I know that they're saying, "I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord, No tender voice like thine can p______ His Will A______. I don't know what they're saying. I tried to fidn the lyrics on line and I couldn't :(. Could someone please send them to me

  • It's an arrangement of an old hymn.

I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord; no tender voice like thine can peace afford.

    Refrain:

    I need thee, O I need thee;

    every hour I need thee;

O bless me now, my Savior, I come to thee.

  • Educate them baby...lol

  • @ForHizGlory06 CAN PEACE HIS WILL AFFORD

  • @ForHizGlory06 The lyrics are "I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord, No tender voice like thine can peace His Will afford. I need thee oh, I need thee, surely I need thee, I need thee oh, I need thee, sweet Saviour I need thee..."

  • Love this artist. To me he and his choir is the best. They are a group of people way before their time and Sylvia Carter is sanging. I wonder do any of them still sing with other choirs or what.

  • @Prayzewarriors I wonder the same thing.

  • He was one and is now in heaven, one of the best choir leaders ever!

  • I wish someone could find "Reflections" by Olanda Draper, I love that song.

  • R.I.P. O'landa Draper

  • I have so much respect for this man. I'm almost moved to tears.

  • i love the ablum, my choir is bring it to 20th century. 2009

  • One of the Baddest choirs from back in the day! Vocally they were the best, next to Ricky Dillard and New G!

  • I def. agree with you on that....

  • love this song

  • Jesus I miss O'landa. He spent alot of time with my college choir" U.A.P.B. Church of God In Christ Choir!!! He always had an encouraging word.I get a little sad when I see or hear the choir.

  • You can also see Sylvia Carter on the video that Myrna Summers did with Timothy Wright see Killed "Jesus Paid it All) and O'landa was also on that same video at the end

  • they got tears running down my face GOD I miss them

  • Man I'm with you on that one!!

  • I luv this song the harmony was off the chain

  • Thanks.. I really love this song..

  • This song brings back so much memories. When I first got saved, I formed a group with 3 other girls back in the early nineties I think. No one we knew had covered this song and we practised it for weeks and weeks fearing we wouldn't pull the harmonies off but after prayer...whenever we sang it we brought the house down everywhere we went and we were only just converted teens! To God be the glory! Olandra certainly had a hand in shaping my early Christian walk.

  • Praise God for that. Do you have a recording of any of your singings? If so, I'm interested in viewing.

  • For those who like to attend:

The 10 Year Commemoration Reunion Concert will be held Saturday, Jul 19 2008 in Memphis, TN @ 5:45pm @ Greater Community Temple COGIC

  • I can't believe I missed that. I recently moved from Memphis and GCT was my church. I went to the East Memphis location. I miss my home!!!!

  • MY MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • I was a proud part of this choir from its humble beginnings. Olanda was truly used by God and as i watched this video, as we apporach the "10 year commemoration" of the life and music of Olanda, it brought me to tears because i remeber so clearly him teaching us THIS song at reahearsal and hoW this song just flowed out of him..was truly amazing! I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH O'LANDA!I am a better choir director thanks to your guidance, teaching, mentoring and friendship. mboyd

  • All I can say now is "WOW!"

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • This is one of my FAVORITE songs! The girl sings this song has a Tamela Mann feel to her..

  • This aint no studio augmented stuff!

  • Ok, this is my song!!!!! Lord Jesus!!!!

  • THAT WAS PERFECTION!

  • I would like to say thank you so much. I was a part of the Associates from 1995 until 2000. This is the best choir and O'landa was the best director i have ever met and was real about everything. Just to let you know the Associates are getting back together to have a reunion in Memphis on July 18-20th and Greater Community COGIC in East Memphis. Don't miss it. I thank you for the videos I'm sending them to the members of the choir.

  • O'landa Draper & The Associates were one of the great choirs of all time. They were actually ahead of their time. They were doing things back then that choirs are doing now. I plan on being at the reunion.

  • I would have to totally agree with you on that O'landa Draper was ahead of his time. to me he the game.

  • @PatrickMcClinton I was at the reunion and oh how my soul was blessed!! When the evangelist from TX said she needed to pray, hallelujah!!!!!! I loved this choir. I remember when they would do the Sunday brunch at Hard Rock. I missed church just to see them live (for free), lol. I also went to the funeral. I just miss this choir. Billy Rivers is good and a joy to watch, but there is and will never be any like O'landa Draper!

  • THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! I was just saying to myself the other day that there weren't enough O'landa Draper & The Associates clips on youtube!. Thank you!!!!! Listen to the choir's vocals - so rich, so trained, so awesome! They will always be my favorite choir of all times!!!!!!! Yessssss!

    dex (zm)

  • They were always one of my favorite choirs also. I wish I had more clips from back in the day. I'll dig around and see what I can find. Dex and ZM,you guys are awesome as well. Keep up the good work. When are you coming to Memphis?

  • I haven't heard this song in so many years! It was a BLESSING to hear this today. God bless you for posting this. I used to have this cassette.
