  • Mick's voice is still soooo wonderful!

  • I agree RONNIE DOESN'T COME CLOSE TO TAYLORS LEADS EVER< BUT< YOU TRY TO TOUR WITH WHO YOU GET ALONG WITH< AND I BELIEVE KEEF CANT PLAY AS GOOD AS TAYLOR THATS WHY THEY DUMPED TAYLOR

  • Mick Taylor wasn't "dumped", he quit. But your entire comment shows just how little you know about the Stones. Actually, it shows just how little you know about music. But hey, this is America and you're entitled to your opinion, no matter how ignorant it is.

  • So...no chance Bill could have been joking a bit about that? And, let me get this straight, everything the Stones released before Sticky Fingers and after It's Only Rock And Roll pales in comparison to what Mick "I'm completely overrated" Taylor brought to the band? You aren't a Stones fan. But hey, if you ever see Ronnie again, let him know that there are plenty of kick ass musicians who would take him over Taylor any day. Including, obviously, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

  • yes, people have an opinion, including yourself. Just ask Keef, if you can. Keef didnt get along with mick taylor. Taylor was a bitch to live around on the road, in the hotels, in the limo, at the sessions etc. etc., etc.,

  • I think this is the one I was at, was fucking great.

  • bullshit

  • Rockin Ronnie is as good as anybody and better than most !!!!!

  • Yeah Fender - and drivin a Ford Mustang

is just as good as drivin a Ferrari...

    MLC

  • amazing!

    ill miss them!

i did get the chance to see them twice on there last tour

those were the 2 greatest days of my life!

  • drummerkid , theyll be on tour as long as they can till someone dies , thats their destiny , to play rocknroll for all the world , they love it harder than anyone in the world , thats why they wont stop , this is their life.

when they die , may they rock in peace .

man , they gave it all to us.

theyve rocked more than a 100 million people and not necesarily live , with their records .

the rolling stones is a culture everyone shall respect.

  • VAMOS LOS STONESSSSSSSSSSS

  • aaah! i love this song! if the stones never tour again...i'll kill myself! i've only seen them once!!:O:O i have to see them again, i HAVE to!

  • Sorry Ronnie but Mick Taylor nails that solo better!

  • Yeah...uhh...ever heard Taylor play it live, though? Me neither.

  • Fair comment mate. I'm sure he would nail it live though. Have you listened to get yer ya yas out?!

  • Have you heard Taylor recently? It ain't 1969. I'll take Ronnie and thank the band for keeping such a great song alive.

  • Chill out dude! I love Ronnie Wood. Just making an observation. Great fuckin tune anyway

  • Makes sense. Because they are different people. I have no doubt that the Faces wouldn't have been very good with Mick Taylor. Certainly the songwriting and memorable riffs would have suffered. If the Stones would have chosen Wayne Perkins, or Harvey Mandel, to replace MT, the same soaring leads and zillion note solos would have been in evidence as they were during MT's tenure. They chose Ronnie instead and I think they have been the better band for it.

  • dunno about that- The vast majority of Stewart's great songs (Faces and early solo stuff) were written by he and Woody. Taylor's writing skills are on par with Brian Jones'. The Stones have never been about virtuoso solos And, as the Black and Blue sessions clearly show, Mandel and Perkins (among many others) could have easily filled Taylor's role. What made Taylor special was the band he was doing it in. Sorry you don't dig Ronnie's style. Must have been a tough 35 years for you.

  • yep. MQ wrote some stuff. No doubt. Still, Stewart and Bob Dylan have mentioned numerous time what a great songwriter Woody is. No one, ever, in the history of time, has said the same thing about Taylor. But, it doesn't matter anyway, because you are not a Stones fan. You are a Taylor fan. Which is fine. And it explains a whole lot. As does your comment comparing the Jonas Bros. to the Rolling Stones. Really, some idiots will say anything. (ps; Enjoy those '73 boots for the thousandth time!!)

  • i'm sure woody is thrilled that a musician of your caliber has deemed his playing adequate. perhaps you could post some of your brilliant music so we could all hear it. Or, maybe you already have. please provide the link. also, please provide the great songs Taylor wrote before, or after, his time with the stones. (i've only been writing and performing music professionally for two decades, the opinions of such an, accomplished, content musician like yourself would be eye opening.)

  • Saw the stones play in 72 and 75 with taylor, didnt play this tune though. Exile on main street was released just before the 75 show I saw, if I recall right. The stones were great with him. Saw them in 89 and the last bigger bang tour

  • Taylor quit the band in 74. Ronnie was with the band in 75. Taylor's last tour was 73 in Europe. Exile was released in 72.

  • I am sure you are correct chadelind. It was just off the top of my head my response, just got it mixed up. They were all Toronto shows. 72 and 75 at Maple Leaf Gardens, 89 steel wheels at CNE Granstand, and Bigger Bang at the Rogers Centre.

  • I didn't see them until '89. Which was my least favorite of the tours. Too slick. I love that impossibly thin line they walk between chaos and brilliance. None of which seems to happen without the mistakes and the slop.

  • Angels beating all their - wings in time..... Smiles on their faces and a gleam right in their eyes....... Whoa...... thought I heard one....

sigh for you..... "Come on up....

    come on up now ...

come on up now". May the good Lord shine a light on you,

Make every song you sing your favorite tune.

May the good Lord shine a light on you,

Warm, like the evening sun. A precious gem, from the band of our lives. I count them as a part of me.

  • Did mick say they're not going to tour anymore?

  • hello?!

  • I thought he said they would tour again.

  • This number was the highlight of the 2 O2 shows I saw (#2 & #3). We were about 20 yards from the stage on Keith's side. "Shine A Light" has always been one of my personal favorites. Thanks for posting! Peace

  • it's a very good quality video, and exc. audience audio. do you have more songs from this gig?
