That's Ascot Park in the mid 70's. The CRA required 5 point harnesses. Apparently, the driver's hand hit the quick release when the car rolled. He didn't suffer any major injuries, but he was scuffed up a bit.

Its a sprintcar, if you look closely youll see a pair of headers not 1 header. keep in mind too that this is probably mid to late 60's, seats weren't as safe as they are now and most guys were most likely using lap belts not a 5 point harness.

FYI my dad is a professional sprintcar driver who raced in the world of outlaws gumout series for over 5 years and won three all-star races his first year. so next time call it a sprint car not a speed car.

FYI, My dad and I also race Spintcar Limiteds in Australia, and THAT to us australians is called a speed car and we still have them racing here, so get your American head out of your American arse and open your eyes up to the world

:D Just because you over there call it "Sprintcars" doesn't mean that we have to, (I do realise it is an old car but that to us is not a sprintcar) There is also a new type out over here called a NOS car and they are Sprints without wings.

I never said they weren't called sprintcars without wings over there, I know that they are because when I posted that comment I was over in America for the Knoxville nationals. I'm just saying that what you call a non wing isn't what we call them, we don't consider NOS cars sprintcars because they have a totally different engine, you guys run the 410's our Nos's don't.
