While this is bad, Japan has been functioning at almost 200% public debt to GDP and the United States Dollar is still the reserve currency of the world. It is easy to be fearful and see nothing but gloom but there is still wiggle room. I am inquisitive to see what you people think about this.

Notice he says "if none" of the Bush tax cuts are extended. Obama planned on extending the Bush tax cuts for those earning under 250,000, only allowing the cuts on those making over that amount, to expire.

So the deficit and debt will be even higher than he just stated, if Obama keeps his promise.
