B I G  F Y I : This doesn't hide the file them from Windows "Recently Changed" search. Nor does it hide the folder from the "recent Places" search- even if your folder options setting is set to "do not show hidden files and folders,"... which, by the way, can be easily changed by pressing Alt, Tools, Folder Options, View- not the super long route you explained here.

Put it somewhere in settings, change the icon, give it a strange name, go on folder properties and click "hidden", go to control panel and don't show hidden folders/files.

It's hard to find, very hard to find... >:D

hey i did this. and now i want to unhide my folder but when i go to properties of the folder t, then View -->and i look for "do not show files and folders and show hidden filesand folder" that option is not there. what do i do?

also in control panel i go to the following:

appearance and personalization, and under folder options there is an option osaying show hidden files and folders. and nothing happens.

dude you can just change the icon to noth (that invissible thini) and then write in the name ALT + 0160 like hold the ALT then press 0 then let go of the 0 and press 1 then let go of the 1 and press 6 then let go of the 6 and press again 0 then let go of the 0 and then let go of the ALT

its all the same but you go to tools up the top of the folder and hit folder options then view tab then do not show hidden files and folder. if you wanna see the pics what ever later,you just gota tick the box what shows hidden files and folders
