i watched a couple of episodes. its cute but some things are really obsured. i dont really see it as improving the image of muslims. muslims stopping their prayers to talk to people, making an islamic version of halloween, etc. some of the scenes while trying to convey a point fall flat like when the "orthodox" muslim characters daughter is dressing shows her revealing her body . i realize things like this happen in a household and they are trying to be realistic but its still not proper.

I've asked women in Burkas why they wear them, and the answers always have to do with what their family wants them to do, not about making a personal choice. I've had to work with muslim men who don't treat women such as myself with the proper respect. Quite honestly, anyone who can't look me in the eye and shake my hand because I'm a woman doesn't belong in Canada.

It horrifies me to see women in modern society hidden behind a veil, with no real voice. The Hijab is no better. i watched a couple of episodes. its cute but some things are really obsured. i dont really see it as improving the image of muslims. muslims stopping their prayers to talk to people, making an islamic version of halloween, etc. some of the scenes while trying to convey a point fall flat like when the "orthodox" muslim characters daughter is dressing shows her revealing her body . i realize things like this happen in a household and they are trying to be realistic but its still not proper.

I've asked women in Burkas why they wear them, and the answers always have to do with what their family wants them to do, not about making a personal choice. I've had to work with muslim men who don't treat women such as myself with the proper respect. Quite honestly, anyone who can't look me in the eye and shake my hand because I'm a woman doesn't belong in Canada.

Get a brain...just because today you are not allowed to marry before 18 does not mean you expect people in the 7th century to do that. Child brides as young as 8 were common among Christian Byzantines. Jesus' own mother Mary was married at a similar age to Joseph who was 90-years-old.

@truthandtruthonly In the USA last century, the age of consent was 10 years old. California was the first state to change the age of consent to 14, which it did in 1889. After California, other US states joined in and raised the age of consent too. The French penal code raised the age from 11 to 13 only a century ago.In England, it was only in 1929 that the ancient Christian minimum age for the marriage of females, which was 12, was abandoned

@RayKalmNiam Actually men and women are supposed to go to the same mosque and women pray behind the men...this is the custom that existed in the time of the Prophet pbuh and the show is correct...whether there should be a barrier between the lines of men and women are still matters in dispute...but normally it's not required although a low barrier can be given to mark the seperate area for women...

Worst show on TV. I hate that my tax dollars go for this crap. Corner Gas is much more reflective of Canadian Culture. This show is just CBC's creepy agenda being forced down the gullets of real Canadians. Head scarfs, honor killings and keeping women separate reflect religious oppression.
