Hi Rachel! I just started subscribing to your videos...I learn more in ONE of your videos than I do in watching MANY others! Please keep them coming! One question, what did you say the paint was that you used on these projects (i.e., on the paper and the clay) to make them look like aged copper?
Hi Rach, love this! I had some sheets of copper that I have had for a long time. I am doing the overnite soak tonight. I like the middle one the best. You mentioned the patina coming off and I am wondering if you took some spray acrylic and coated it if that would keep it from coming off? I have sprayed paper to keep glitter from coming off and it worked well. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me. Have a great weekend.
@grammypame Hi, Yes, the finishing lacquer that I mention using is acrylic based, though some still came off. I also found that if you want to glue things onto it, use something sharp to score the metal for a better grip - Or use brads etc for attaching embellishments. Have fun playing! Hugs, Rach
@NJGardengirl1961 Sorry, I don't know what brand it is - I bought it years ago before any major companies were producing it. I would say it is a medium-heavy weight copper as it is quite rigid - Though I think a lighter weight material would be easier to work with.
Hi Rach0113 i am a devoted subscriber to your vids, im new to crafting and wondered what you do with all the amazing creations you create! do you sell them?
@trinitydore Hi, Thanks for following my channel. I do not sell my work, but make most things simply for the pleaure of the creative process, then display them around my home.
love your samples of patina effects, rach. beautiful. your projects are gorgeous! love your tag! so creative to add the wings to the ornate plate. love the polymer clay key. oo, love your polymer clay crown and frame. thank you for sharing with us! have a great day! *hugs* steph :)
love your work...i love mixed media....so interesting with the copper experiments...im interested to know what food you sprinkle vinegar on?? we don't do any vinegar sprinkling in new zealand except for chips?? I love all your projects xoxox tasha
Really incredible projects, you are so very talented. I'd love a tour of your house. I'll bet it's filled with your awesome art work. Thanks for sharing your talent and your experiments!
Pretty. Cool effect. What if you sand it a little, would it remove some of the green to reveal the copper color? Gorgeous tag. The crown in the script frame is my favorite.
You've done it again....more gorgeous projects! Thanks for teaching me some new tricks to try w/ copper. And I LOVE those molds you shared in your last haul vid. Especially the crown you used here. TFS
Oh Rach - Brilliant yet again. Thank you for sharing the instructions for achieving
the verdigris look. I've been working on a mailbox but haven't gotten the right color for the patina. Now I can try with your suggestions. Hope you have a lovely week. be well, Robin
Thanks Rach!

Hello, I was just wondering where you bought the crown or how it was made out of polymer clay.
kiraaxchaos 9 months ago
@kiraaxchaos Hi, The crown was made with Fimo soft and a mould by Krafty Lady. I used black clay, and dusted it with gold perfect pearls.

Hi- I just have a question, do you put the perfect pearls on the polymer clay before you bake it or after?
Thanks, I love your work!
Becky
beckwhitty 1 year ago
@beckwhitty I add the perfect pearls before baking because the heat binds them to the clay.
