I just picked up this bad boy and am going to carry it for a couple weeks. I really like the design and how beefy the knife is. It seems like you like it, even though most of the review was about things you didn't like about it. Great review though.
was wanting this for a while, but your video discourages me from making that step. looks like i'll be saving me some money until (if possible) BM remakes it.
I think it is more of a collector/show knife than an EDC. I tried to carry it for one day and it was just too bulky and heavy for me. But I love it though. :)
i like how they rounded off the top of the thumb ramp. like the rounded off spine of a sebenza. a thick blade does make cutting harder. especially with a short knife. im pretty sure they made some improvements on the later ones. not the first production ones.that bending part is thinner than most liner locks. i dont like the clip. too thick looking. not bendy at all. you need a springy clip. its stiff but damn a good clip shouldnt be just stiff.
All style, but not enough substance. Also excited when I saw this released, but then I held it in store. Handle too thick, titanium cutout too large with very little resistance, Blade too thick for the size so the blade and edge geometry don't function well. Sure it's a 3 inch prybar, but an SnG weighs less, feels better, cuts better (with an edge reprofile) and feels tougher. Biggest knife dissapointment in 2010 for me. I think you did a great job with this review highlighting those points.
your first sentence sums it up perfectly. i'm not sure if its the biggest disappointed knife of 2010 but it's definitely a big one. the sng is actually way more of a slicer than people give it credit for.
nice vid. i held one in a store and the detent felt weak, and the framelock was really easy to disengage. i agree with you on the lockbar cutout. it looks way too thin.

@oromoto
yeah it's definitely a great collector's piece but for actual use, it's marginal at best.

yeah... you know it probably is strong enough, but when a folder designed to inspire confidence doesn't do that, it's kind of annoying.
