I would like to see Ted and Mark do some writing together, come out with some hard rockin' stuff. In a '76 Creem interview, Ted wasn't exactly the biggest GFR fan, but music wise Mark and Ted probably have a lot in common.
The New York Daily News' Nationwide Readers' Poll for 1971.
Tens of thousands of votes were cast from every state in the nation. Whe the final score was tallied, Grand Funk Railroad had garnered a whopping 75% of the total vote as "Best Rock Group In The U.S." Left to split up the remaining 25% were: 2 Creedence Clearwater, 3. Jackson Five, 4. Led Zeppelin, 5. Three Dog Night, 6. The Who, 7. Sly, 8. Santana, 9.Chicago, and 10.Ten Years After!
Why bother with the RRHOF? Do you want to see GFR at the same level as Madonna? Come on, being outside RRHOF is the biggest honour GFR can receive today, everyday.
This band rocked harder than any band in history! Prove me wrong, I dare you! Grand Funk Railroad Live was The Ultimate, bar NONE!!! The Establishment hated this band & thanks to Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone, Mark, Don, & Mel still pay the price for not fitting "The Preconceived Image" of what a Rock Band should be. The People Should Speak!!! Support our petition in video's description.
Spank a "postage free subscription card" from a Rolling Stone magazine, attach it to a big box with a tire in it, ATTN: JANN WENNER. Up to 70 lbs. is allowable on one of these cards! I shit you not! Lets get JANNS attention. 1,000 tires a day is all I ask! Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk! Hey JANN.....up yours.
How "FUNKY" can 3 guys get? Please sign the petition to get GRAND FUNK RAILROAD into the Hall of Fame. Their induction is WAY overdue. I will not visit the HALL until GFRxR are in.....PERIOD!
Classic Rock.Genesis /Phil Collins!! Give me a break,he was a hired drummer/actor.Mikey Dolenz had more talent in a pinky than that bald Peter Gabriel doppleganger.
Genesis/Phil Collins were weak I thought. No soul. Almost robot-like. It is a fact that you have to take chances with music to be great. When it comes to music, change is a must to be considered great. GFRxR had this in abundance. They never took a back-seat to any band. No band could follow GFRxR in their hey-day. Not Zeppelin, not The Stones, not any band. Period!
I'm from Michigan,we expect the best in musicians
