For those of you who don't already know this (which I'm sure most of Ausie50's subscribers already do know) JAP has nothing to do with Japan, it stands for J.A Prestwich. They also used to build motorcycles and motorcycle engines at one time.
Nice little engine, I'm not sure of when JAP went out of business but it must be pretty old. You don't see many JAP engines around here, or much British stuff at all in the small stuff, mostly American stuff like old Briggs, Tecumseh, Kohler, and Wisconsin Air Cooled.
Idler champion. It doesn't stop until it really stops, lol. I like the look of the fan housing. Heavy flywheel as well. The compressor is nice too.

@DragonFlyback256 yeah the serious flywheel weight keeps it idling at super low RPM. altho the plug fouls after a couple of mins at such low speed.
