I experienced the attacks of a YouTube stalker for quite a while, and he searched for my comments and sunk them via thumbs down. He found my comments here, as well as those of "suzylux", and sank us into oblivion, while in fact Suzy and I were just proclaiming our love for this band. Our comments are still here but one must view them behind this stalker's "veil". I wanted to post this so that no viewer will be lead to believe that our comments were in any way undesirable. MyGodzilla99 - Grace WHO ?? um she isn't singing and says whe will not sing anymore. Janis is dead and made like 3 or 4 albums. ANN IS still singing and is still touring and still writting songs. but sorry even though the 2 you mentioned can sing they are no better than anyone who made a mark in history.

ps. Ok no one ever really mentions this (maybe we all don't wanna go there lol) but don't you find the comments from that woman at the end weird? I remember first seeing that cover back in the day and thought it was suggestive, but that's cause I didn't know they were sisters. If I'd known that there would be no wayy I'd jump to like 'Oh yeah, lesbian sisters. Clearly.' Lol, I mean, wth is up with that?

Hi suzylux - that was Sue Ennis, who co-wrote tons of songs with Heart. She was a big component of their amazing lyrics. They're all old friends. She was just speaking from the perspective of being a very close friend of Ann and Nancy. It's all quite amusing now, so many years later!

Yeah, I realized later on who she was. But regardless of who she is and their longterm relationship with her, the thing I find weird is just how readily the picture and article would suggest 'gay sisters' to her (or anyone). Because if I saw that, that wouldn't be what I'd immediately think ya know? But that's just me.
I like that Chris Cornell said that tho. And I know he was referring to all the crap from the record company/management that Ann had to deal with in the 80s.
People give Aretha a mulligan because of two things.
1) She's the Queen of Soul, and because
2) She's a black woman.
Being honest, that is the gist of it.
Plus I don't think Aretha ever had the youthful, sultry sex appeal of a young Ann Wilson. People always go on about Nancy, but ANN was the hot one in the 70s. Nancy was hot too, but she didn't have the sexy swag of Ann.
I don't think it's wrong for people to lament on that. It only becomes bad when people pay attention only to that.
an excellent point, indeed. but if u think about it, there were several musicians who had all that talent, and yet, they too had issues with their weight (sorry for bringin this old issue back up). so if there were other weighty musicians, why pick on Ann? why cover her up and let others who were heavier flaut around? maybe the whole music business just needs to drop the image craze and go back the music
because of hype and media. no other reason but to make an "EXAMPLE" out of her. THAT's a piss poor reason to always talk about weight. They should focus on what comes O U T of her mouth NOT what went in...
Ann Wilson and Mariska Veres (Shocking Blue) are my favourite female singers. Grace Slick and Janis Joplin aren't far behind.
